My day started with a 10:30 interview. I showed up at the building at 9:45, I didn't wanna get lost as it was my first visit to Sydney. I hung around the bottom of the MLC centre for fifteen minutes before going up to level 10 I went through security there but I left everything there, they did take a CD from me tough. After that I went to level 59 and showed the lady my passport, got buzzed in and took a number.

I sat down in the room, trying to gauge and in all honesty listen in on other peoples interviews, after about 10 minutes I was called to window where I was asked some generic questions (name, asked for paperwork, provided a photo) I was then handed back all my documents and told to take a seat again.

20 minutes later I was called up to a different window. This time I was asked more personal questions about our relationship, he went through the paperwork (i had to provide more I-134 forms on the day) and said everything had been in order. I was th... read complete review

My review went really well. I showed up *very* early on the day - 8am for a 10:30am interview - and was advised to return at 9:30am. So turning up an hour before your interview seems to be what they expect.

Security was very tight, as it to be expected. I don't recommend taking anything but your interview documentation, as they will confiscate it all. They'll also want shoes and belts taken off at Sydney, so keep that in mind before wearing large boots.

One small fuss occurred because Kelly and I had a CD as part of our interview documentation (it was part of a photo set taken of us at the zoo). They will *not* allow those in, nor USB sticks, etc. So anything like that should be taken out ahead of time. It had completely slipped my mind, and there was a tense 2 minutes while I struggled to remember where in our documentation (which was all scanned as well) I had a CD!

The interview process itself was nice and easy. Take a ticket, just like ... read complete review

As many others have posted, we basically had a pretty smooth experience. As the USC, I went with my fiance and was told that as a USC, I am welcome to come up with him and did not need to be on the official visitor's list. We were swiftly sent up to the top floor with no hassle, after clearing security.

Despite being one of the first appointments of the day, there were still about 8 other applicants ahead of us, and it took a good 45 minutes before being called up. The initial paperwork check caused us a bit of dismay, only because the lady apologized and said that they should have told us ahead of time that they use a distinct form to request NZ police certificates, rather than how we applied directly to NZ police. So this meant we were unable to get a final answer that day!

She then asked us to have a seat, and the Consular Officer called us up a few minutes later. He initially looked a bit shocked that I was with my fiance, but said I was welcome... read complete review

I flew in the night before as I live in Adelaide. I would suggest if coming interstate by plane to arrive the previous day. I stayed at the travel lodge on Philips street which is right around the corner from then US consulate . So I would recommend staying there . Also train station is at the end of the Phillips street and costs $16 to get to airport. I took a taxi when I got there as I didn't know where I was and it was $45 bucks !!!!! So catch a train lol.. My appointment was at 930 am do not arrive any earlier then 15 minutes before interview time they won't let you in. At 915 am I went through they asked my name crossed me off the list. Had to go through security asked if I had any electronics I didn't left it all at hotel . Was much faster and easier not bringing anything with you. They then asked you to take a seat .
Officer calls you up and takes u into the left and says next stop . Arrive on level 10 and asked for passport then they tell you go through these doors and g... read complete review

Very much like every other Aussie review -- quick and painless! Took me about twenty minutes all up, from checkpoint to approval slip, and everyone was friendly and professional. Questions asked:

- Describe your relationship with your fiancee, beginning from when you first met.
- How did she propose?
- Why do you think Tracie is the one for you? (I laughed and answered "Because she calls me out on my shit") which he seemed to enjoy.
- What do you both have in common?
- What does she do for a living?
- How do you both keep in contact?

AND THAT'S IT. The officer flicked through the forms, handed me a slip and said "Congratulations, your Visa has been approved."

It's worth noting, having spoken to a few people who work in immigration, that Australia is basically non existant on the fraud radar. If your case is straight forward, the interview process is simply a formality.
