I had a pretty good interview, very little was asked of me, and very little was required. I didnt need to submit any further documents. Everyone treated me well and the security guards even used a little humor to calm me down when I told them I was nervous because I was a little late. The only thing that wasn't pleasant was the interviewing officer, she was really grouchy and on the verge of being rude. Clearly she was stressed and not having a good day, she did not interact with me, and was almost aggressive. She gave me my piece of paper showing that i was approved for my visa, and when I asked if there was anything more she needed from me, since she hadn't said goodbye or given me permission to leave, she answered with "go now, go away". Who cares really, I got approved, but maybe she needed another coffee before she came to work

We arrived around 7.40 for my 8am appointment. My USC fiancé came with me (I just emailed the Consulate to let them know and they confirmed, so his name was added to the list).
As they were not open yet, we waited outside, third in line. By the time the doors for security opened, there was about six people in line.
Going through security was easy, just had to take out all electronics, earphones, cables, turn off phones etc. They told us we should take our wallets in with us. Gave them our bags, got tag, and before we even got to sit down in the ‘waiting area’, the first three of us were called into the next room.
After showing our passports to the officer we were buzzed into the main room.
Took a number and waited about 15 mins and was called to the first window who as normal, asked for the documents “you were asked to bring”, then was told to sit back down again. A few minutes later was called back to the window —... read complete review

We had our interview on the 28th January at 10am. There was myself and my 3 children who were all applying for visas. K1 & 3 x K2 visas. My children 12, 9 and 6yrs old had to attend the interview also.
Before I start just a few tips for those with children. There are no toilets on the 59th floor so be sure to get your children to go before you reach the top floor. Closest toilet is on the 10th floor. Once you go up to 59th, if you go back down, you must go thru security all over again.
Take some colouring books or cards to keep your children amused and quiet. It can be a long wait for small children.
Ok so, we arrived at the MLC building at 9:15am and was told to come back 15mins before appointment. We did that and went straight up to the 10th floor.
We then went thru security. No phone or electronics allowed past that point. They will hold your bag and give you a number to pick up your items before leaving.
Once we went thru secu... read complete review

The process began exactly like we've read in many of these other reviews - we arrived a little before 9am for a 9:30 interview. Our case is a little more uncommon as my fiancee (the US citizen) joined me for the whole process. If your fiance(e) happens to be in the country for your own interview, they can join you as long as you email the consulate first asking for permission.
The first room was security, where they confiscated everything but the relevant paperwork. We were quickly shown into another elevator where a lady checked our passports, crossed our names off a list, and let us through a security door.
The final room was kind of like waiting for a bank teller - everyone took a number and sat, where there was seven applicable booths for visa applicants. We noticed that many of the interviews were taking quite a long time. We'd read reviews here that said Australia was so relaxed that many interviews last five minutes or less. So that obviously unner... read complete review
