Fairly straight forward. Other reviews go into enough finer detail regarding getting there and the process, etc. I didn't wait too long. Interview was quick. The CO wasn't too invasive and was very friendly, so I had no issues with the actual interview. The only problem was that my CO got confused about the tax documentation requirements. She ended up asking her supervisor and then he confirmed that a document was missing, even though the document was never requested and wasn't technically required. It was very disappointing not being approved on the spot, and my case was put into administrative processing for over a week due to what seemed like their human error. It wasn't a problem in the end but it did slow everything down.
Communication after the interview is virtually non-existent. Eventually I got an email from the consulate with approval notice.

As others have observed, level 10 is accessed via the lobby on level 8.
Lifts(elevators) don't open until 0730.
They started putting people through security about 0800.
I got my ticket upstairs at 0814 (time is printed on the ticket).
Everyone I dealt with was polite, efficient and tolerant of me being nervous.
All paperwork was in order (assuming this is due to the Lawyer we had in the States being good at what she does).
Passport and envelope taken when I was called up to the first window, fingerprints taken.
Called to the second window for the interview, asked how we met, how the relationship developed, what my wives name is, how did I propose, when and where were we married, what is her occupation.
I think there was a couple of other questions, can't remember them all.
Visa approved (didn't get a slip of paper as other people have mentioned, just ve... read complete review

We have been together for nearly nine years, and married over 3.
My husband is the Australian and went to the U.S. Sydney consulate for his interview. He flew in from Perth the night before as he had to fly in from work as well. His plane from Perth was delayed 45 minutes, then in Sydney his plane was stuck on the Tarmac for an hour due to weather. Finally out of the plane he got in a taxi with less than an hour to spare for his interview and was very stressed.
He made it to his hotel, and then went to the interview and was ten to fifteen minutes late.
He was finished within an hour and half to two hours. The immigration agent just asked general questions about us, and then queried why my name was still in my maiden name on my 2013 tax return. This was because I hadn't changed my name on my SSN when in the U.S. while on a holiday previously. However, hubby did have my 2014 tax return which has my married name.
Hubby said it w... read complete review

Just like everyone states, you head to level 10 and go through security. They're lovely and sincerely thank you if you don't bring any bags or phone etc. Then you head over to a desk with two girls who sort through your documents, put them in order and shove it in a clear folder.
They told me that I didn't need the printed receipt that the post office gave me, so I put it into my "spare" envelope that I brought with me in case anything wasn't needed. Lucky, because upstairs they asked for the printed receipt. Note: hold onto everything regardless if the girls downstairs tell you it's unnecessary.
Next you go up into an elevator to the 59th floor and speak to a person who asks you again if you have a mobile or Fitbit. I left both in my hotel so all good to keep going through the heavy door into the waiting/interview room. Make sure the person buzzes the door open before you start pulling though or you'll look silly trying to heave a door open... like me. I... read complete review

My appointment was for 8:15am 28th of April. I flew in the night before and stayed at the Oaks Hotel on College street (AU$156 for the night, the restaurant downstairs is good and you can take it to you're room if you're stressed), it's only 15 minute walk from the embassy.
I got to the MLC center 30 minutes early and good job I did because it takes that long to get through security because most people around you will not be organised for quick processing.
Tips to make it quick:
- DO have your paperwork in the same order as the DSL-1076 checklist they send you.
- DO print your name on the back of ONE USA passport photo (5cm x 5cm)
- DO NOT take your phone, iPod, iPad, laptop or anything else electric...just don't! They will really appreciate it and tell you they love you if you don't bring anything like that.
- DO NOT wear anything with big metal chunks on it, you are being screened just like at the airport. do them and yourself... read complete review
