Interview was quick and simple.
Embassy took a while to respond to emails.

Our appointment was at 9:00 am so we arrived at the embassy at 8:45am. You go directly to window 1, without going in the line for tourist visas. We don’t know exactly the waiting times but, after giving us folder in which to organize our papers, taking our prints and going through security, we were sitting waiting by 9am. We left the embassy exactly at 11:00am. Only 2 hours for the whole process! =)
We waited about 25-30 minutes to get called in (by last name) to give the first woman our papers. When we received the email with the interview date, they told us we were missing some papers from Packet 3: An original DS-156 form (we thought we had to send a copy and bring the 2 originals for interview, but I guess not), The confirmation from DHL saying we had picked a location, and the birth entry (which we had not legalized for packet 3). So she asked us for these 3 things, plus the medical envelope, made me sign a form, and asked for some passport type pictures. Then we had to g... read complete review

So, I got my visa approved today!!!! Yay!! javascript:emoticon(' ')
I got to the Embassy at 8:45 and my interview was schedule for 9am. They gave me the famous green folder and let me in and after going through security I went to the main building and waited by the front desk. After a little while someone realized that no one took my fingerprints so they made me go back outside to do that, but it only took a couple minutes. After that I got back into the building and was given a number. I walked into the waiting area and waited for like 2 minutes until my number was called. The lady at the window requested my police record, passport, pictures and made me sign a paper saying that everything on the documents was accurate. After that she returned everything we sent to the NVC and asked me to wait.
I had two people ahead of me so I didn't wait long. After 45 minutes they called me by name for the actual interview! First, the CO made me swear that ... read complete review

Hi all! Yesterday I got my interview, and I finally got approved!!! Im the applicant, and I went to the embassy with my husband, who only had to show his passport to get in.
Everything was really easy, and everyone was friendly. They made me throw away my cigs, but I was expecting that javascript:emoticon(' ')
They gave me the green folder, and told me to wait. The green folder had a list with everything I was supposed to hand in, and I got really scared because I only had 3 of those documents. Luckily, they only asked me for the documents I had brought with me, since all the other documents had already been sent to the NVC, and I didnt need them anymore.
They asked me 2 questions only:
1-How did you guys meet?
2-Do you know what Iowa looks like?
The guys had already an answer when he called us in, and the questions were just rutine.
After that, they gave my all the papers that... read complete review

It couldn't have been easier!
It was pretty much like everyone else has already posted. Went 30 mins prior to the scheduled time, went to window 1 to announce myself as an "immigration visa" applicant, they gave me the famous green folder with an explanation on how to put the documents from packet 4 in order; and they let me right in (had no cellphone, no keys, nothing). Took my fingerprints and sent me to the building where I was given a number and told to wait next to window 5 (It has a sign that says Inmigration and a pic of the Statue of Liberty on top of it). Ten minutes later my number pops up on the screen, go there, and a nice gentleman told me to put (inside the green folder)just the medical, my 4 old passports and some new proof of ongoing relationship that I was bringing with me, because I had already sent all the originals with the packet 3. He also told me to wait because I was going to be called from window 12 to pay. I was called 15 minutes later and paid U$S 240 ... read complete review
