  1. Honestly, I had no idea what you were talking about until I saw the response above, having no clue that pink is a sign of approval from interview.

Congrats and Cheers to the new beginning.

    Chigs

  Yes, sir. This is what you and your fiance will come across one day. The I-129F ultimate result is a little pink slip with a signature. Good luck.

  2. ok people , wut is the first thing that you do with your wife(or husband ) when they are here in the us ?. me , i am gona drive her around the area where i live . when i met my wife few years ago back in vietnam she is the one that drove me around on her scooter , then taught me how to ride scooter. then after that ill order fast foods like pizza so she know what it taste like. there are fastfood restaurants in vietnam yet most of them dont taste like the real stuff we have here in the us. post stuffs that you did , or plan to do with your spouse on here people , that will give me ideals of what to do to keep my wife happy and ease the culture shock that she will have to go through. i can not do guy stuffs like shooting , fishing , fix car , build a gaming pc or go out to bar for a drink with her since most women dont like stuff like that( and my old man told me to stay away from girls that like to do that stuff  ).

    Plain and simple. Get naked!

  3. Anyone who recently had an interview please let me know this part. Do I need to glue the visa photo to form DS-156 on page 1? Or do the people at the consulate do it? I know that the Saigon consulate is a little tough so I don't want to do them wrong. Thanks in advance.

  4. Only it doesn't really show who is talking to who. I really would like to have a text file showing in/out from her number or mine with the conversation. Someone here at work says they know how to do it.

By the way, that is pretty cool that you can do what you described above.

If your fiance has an iphone have her do the same thing. Drag all to microsoft word and lay them side by side. Make them even smaller so u can put more into one page

  5. Thanks. I'll check these out tonight. You rule.

Even easier. Just self take the iphone texts by pressing the 'home button' and "power button"-top right at the same time. scroll through only a few that u think that are significants and take pictures of them. Upload them to your computer and that's it. Good luck.

  6. Completely off topic, but in the almost 70 years since WW2, we have been in 5 wars. In the 90 or so years preceding WW2, we (the US) were in 4 wars. Neither count includes all the small actions where we sent troops but no war was declared. Hasn't changed a whole lot.

Back on topic now. As for the willingness to bare arms question, I think you would have to have a good explanation as to why it has changed also. Otherwise the impression will be that the beneficiary just gave the answer that the IO wanted to hear previously so to speak. If the willingness has in fact changed, then best to answer honestly and be prepared to explain why.

If the US give anyone a chance to come here, and you think twice before saying yes to defending it; you shouldn't be here or allow to.

  7. just a thanks out to mr Nam and his staff for a great job with getting us to this point. They did a great job preparing us for the interview, highly recommend their services at Doan Tu office,49c tran hung dao street, ward 6, dist 5, ho chi minh city,

    Congratulations!

How much did the service cost you?

  8. u mean 300k, which is $15 roughly? either way it doesn't sound right at all.

Yes, you are correct. They didn't ask for the appointment letter or passport. I can let that slide because you know how they are over there. They did take the two visa photos. They did the blood test and physical exam. That's it.

  9. http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/HCM-MED-ENGL-0001-1012.pdf

The price charged looks right, it is $110

Looking at the website for the first medical center listed, they do have the ability to do chest xrays.

    http://www.choray.org.vn/xuatcanh_eng.asp

Also, I do remember reading on the State Department website that everyone is required to have chest x-rays, vaccine sheet, blood test and physical exam (if a woman).

So if they didn't do all of that, I would say they did a piss poor job but I would email or call the consulate and see what they say.

I agree with you. One person on here tells me you don't need X-ray, the next say you need it. I already been those websites and I know they have the ability to do it. I just think that they fill out everything as ok and didn't even bother to do the X-rays. They only did the physical and blood test. i know that the vaccination is optional. I guess they skip the x-rays and just marked it as OK on the form. I don't know who to believe. Piss poor job on the whole process from beginning to end. I can't stand laziness and incompetents!

  10. No, it's not. If you are talking about the I-693 form that the doctor has to fill out then no, they dont do x-rays.

To be honest with you, I don't know what is included in the medical checkup. However, on the consulate website the price listed is $110 US. It costs her lest than $40 US to get it done. What did they do as part of your medical examination? At least I get an idea. thanks

  11. Ours is blank under the medical date also.

Hey did you do your medical yet? If so, where? What did they check your fiance for the medical? Mine only cost $300 Vietnamese dong. That's not even $50 USD. They didn't even do the x-ray. I guess they did a real sloppy job just to get it done or something.

  12. got through IOM (they have a vietnamese or english option...the english just hung up so i managed to navigate through the viet).

needed to make appt so i did...for may 12th (planning to get the vaccines on 9th or 11th). they took down my fiancee name and phone number...i asked if they needed the case # but lady with northern accent said no. told me to bring passport, 2 passport photos, $110, and a copy of the appointment letter.

i also called the vaccine place to ask if you need appt (i assume no but want to be sure) but they don't pick up...so i gave my fiancee the phone #s and she'll try later.

yes i'm detail-oriented and obsessive...but like the godfather said "women and children can afford to be careless, but not men...", and this is kinda important in the grand scheme of things, can't afford to be careless.

The vaccination is optional, but is cheaper to do in Vietnam than it is here.

  13. Hey guys,

How much does it cost you guys to do the medical examination in Cho Ray Hospital in Saigon, Vietnam? It only costs my fiance $300 VND. They didn't even ask to see her passport or appointment letter. They only wanted two visa pictures. This is weird considering the appointment package for K visa listing it as $110 USD. And, am I correct that Vaccination is optional?

  14. Is just the way it happened..I was in line to exit the airport when suddenly i had the officer next to me asking questions.. If the IO who you show ur passport to would start asking that , wouldnt made me feel the way i did.. N as im learning now, CBP operations involve many aspects including immigration.. Is good for us to learn from others, cuz we are no immigration specialists.. Most of us here are looking for advice or some help.. but theres a very thin line under this questionings were u might feel being treated unfairly.. Thats all..

You said, "Is just the way it happened..I was in line to exit the airport when suddenly i had the officer next to me asking questions.. If the IO who you show ur passport to would start asking that , wouldnt made me feel the way i did." This doesn't make any difference. They work together as a team. They can be anywhere and pull you over anytime with any questions. They deal with thousands of people a day and that is no easy task. Imagine how many pricks they have to deal with each day before they get to you. Again, please read the links that someone posted above. Everyone here should be GRATEFUL for these federal officers. In a lot of other countries if you talk back to the officers they will beat you and drag you across the floor and lock you up. It is only in the USA that we have so many rights. It's better just to cooperate and be out on the way.

  15. Hi VJ community! Recently I returned of visiting my fiance.. At the US Airport a Customs Officer wanted to check my luggage.. When she noticed in my Customs form that i was returning from an arab country she asked me the purpose of my trip.. I replied that I went to visit my fiance and his family.. Since then she started to ask about our relationship, she wanted to know every detail: How we met, what kind of job we have, our religions, if both family accepts this relationship, about my K1 file,everything...

I know that Customs n Borders P. job is to make sure ppl is bringing back lawful stuff.. But asking me with prejudice about him only cuz he's ARAB was not nice.. For a moment I felt it was me being interviewd for the fiancee visa.. She said that all arabs marry americans just for papers and once they get em they file for divorce.. Also she said that he cant marry me cuz I have a different religion.. She's so wrong.. "Are you converting to his religion?" she asked, I said :"No, we respect each others religion".. She said also that im responsible for whatever my fiance could try to do here.. I replied that: "He's a dedicated man, he studied hard to get his degree at the University and after graduating he has been working in the same place(11 years ago), also for the file he got his police record which is completely clean".. But nothing I was replying pleased her.. She also told me in a sarcastic way if i knew Cinderella's story.. I said " Of course i know her story" then she said " that story doesnt exist"..

Its really sad how this ppl treat filers like me.. At the end she asked me to write down my fiance's name on the Customs Form.. what for??? Im not sure.. and thats why im sharing my story with you.. My concern is if she can access their system and write something so when he's finally able to come to the US will be rejected at the Port of Entrance..

Thx to those of you who could give me an advice..

You said "I know that Customs n Borders P. job is to make sure ppl is bringing back lawful stuff." This is false. This is a great website for information, however, a lot of answers on here are true and a lot not true. But I know that everyone here is just trying to help each others; and of course no on is perfect. An officer has every right to ask you all those questions mentioned above, "How we met, what kind of job we have, our religions, if both family accepts this relationship, about my K1 file, everything." That is part of the job. In case you don't know customs officers and immigration officers are the same. They are trained to do both. That officer doesn't know who you are. Sure, you could be telling the truth, but a smuggler would try to do the same. Put yourself in her shoes. If someone come to your house and say he knows your son, uncle aunt, and so on, do you believe them without questioning the person??? Can you trust everyone to tell you the truth?

Now, if the officer disrespects you then ask to speak to a supervisor. Then ask for a complaint form. Believe it or not professionalism is important and they do investigate on complaints. They must talk to you respectfully. Interviewing to intercept potential "bad guys" is part of the game. Do not confuse that with being disrespectful. Good luck. Go to their official website and read up before you travel. Know your rights! Do not assume! Good luck...

  16. Bring a dekstop as check in bag is Ok. They will not bother you.

I built my wife a desktop Last year in Feb and i also carry my laptop. I have a lot of electronics and they wouldn't even bother me. The last time I went was in Sept. I check in a printer and it was good to go too.

They just want to check with Iphone and Ipad so they could tax you.. but other they will not.

if you bring too much they will tax. but if you bring one item of each they wont' tax you at all.

Printers are not allow anymore due to the attempted bombing using printer ink cartridges.
