Congratulations!!!
I just go an e-mail saying this case has been approved. Does this mean what I think it means or am I jumping the gun???? -
Happy Friday to everyone!
Elias has still not come out. I go to the doctor today, mabye they will force him out then If not, Monday I have some testing done - and they will induce me around the 21st I guess not more than 10 more days to go then.
I've been getting as much walking in as possible, but this little guy is on a nerve or something - I can barely walk!! It takes me a good 5 minutes just to get up my steps.
Maybe if I give the dutty wine a try???
-
Julie,
Eat some mustard or curry so we can meet Elias this week!
Ok, I could maybe stomach that - everyone else is telling me castor oil... no thank you! I'll tell Michael to make some curry chicken for dinner.
OK It's my turn!! I am doing the "3rd heart dutty wine!!" This is my 3000th post!!!!Dutty wine, shankle dip, blaze, frogback, tump di sky, row di boat, weddy weddy weddy
Signed,
You and Jonesie are both crazy

He then told us that the name check has already been cleared, and that we were approved. When we confirmed that we would not be travelling abroad within the next 30 days, he handed us a letter reminding to file for removal of conditions in two years. He said if we are as prepared as we have been in previous filings, we will probably get 10 year greencard in the mail. We were told to expect greencard in the mail within the next two weeks.
Congrats Jonesie! I'm glad you had a painless interview... ahh... doesn't it feel great to be done?!!
-
While we wait for Jonesie to get back with us.
What do you all think about online degrees? Other than the fact that they are expensive. I'm thinking about the University of Phoenix to finish my nursing degree. Anyone know of anyone who has completed an online degree?
My sister got her master's through University of Phoenix online. She liked it... It was expensive and a lot of work, but she said she learned a lot and got two promotions since graduating.

Hi, everyone, just catching up here, am about 10 pages behind, but wanted to tell ya all that Lake got offered a job at the schools as custodian last week. He was actually supposed to start on Monday of this week, but is still waiting on background check, hurry UP already, we NEED the money! Anyhow, we took a tour of the school, it was so intimidating looking from the outside, HUGE, but the tour and the supe was fantastic and he was very reassured and ready to go! I was also reassured, looks like a wonderful place and great benefits!
Congrats to everyone on the good news they have and welcome to all the newbies!
Congrats to Lake!

Thanks everyone for the uplift. I do feel better now. I called him today and we talked and decided that he will come here and if he does not like it he can go back home. What will happen after that I don't know. We've decided that we will cross that bridge when we come to it. So things are back to being somewhat normal.
That's great news Woogie... I'm glad you guys were able to figure something out.

Elias -- You're late for the party!!!
He STILL didn't hear you
Hubby has a job interview at 10:30am, immediately following AOS interview (8:30am)! I am praying that all goes quick. The employer was nice and said if we are running late then she will see him on Thursday but he doesn't want to miss any more days of school than necessary he's more nervous (and excited) about the job interview than AOSWow - 2 inteviews in one day - he's brave! Tell him we said good luck

Hello everyone,
I have either not been on or just reading and not posting. Two things have been happening with me but I'm back now. I now have two jobs which makes me wonder what was the point of retiring and Trevor is changing his mind about coming here, he wants me to move there. No matter how many ways I explain to him that it will be almost impossible for me to do that, he still ask everytime we talk. So I have been very depressed about this as well as the fact of having to work 2 almost fulltime jobs. I do have some good news though. Both of the I129F and I130 were aprroved. But I guess it doesn't matter if he does not want to be here. Well anyway, I am going to go catch up.
I'm sorry things are so rough for you right now. Did Trevor say why he wants you to move there now? I know Michael got really nervous when the approval got close and then again when it came in. He asked me the same thing. We finally decided he would give it a try here and if he hated it then we would organize a way for both of us to move to JA.
Michele - glad your new house is finally feeling like home. Where did you find a cool breeze?!! Can you send one my way
Kim - I hope Duane is feeling better... I can't imagine how hard that must be. I wish I had some advice for you, but Michael doesn't have in kids in JA so we didn't have to go through that. I hope April comes quickly so he can see them again.
-
Doodle - Congrats on finally telling your family - that must be a huge load off your shoulders. I hope your family comes around over time - until they do, just keep on finding happniess in your relationship.
Jax - I am too late to tell you goodbye! If you check from JA, I hope you have a beautiful wedding day and a wonderful trip

Hi Everyone I'm trying to play catch up, haven't been able to get on here all week.
Julie-You must be sooo excited.......Do you have the babaies room finshed or will he be sleeping in your room for now? He's going to be in our room until our roommate moves out of our 3rd bedroom. So we have his crib, dresser, and changing table taking over our beroom right now!

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I guess the hardest part is that throughout my life they have always been supportive. This relationship is hard for them so it's the classic "out of sight out of mind". It's not just racial concerns though, it is age, upbringing, education, foreign born and the fact that he is a father. I think that they worry that we won't have a bright future with his lack of education. They feel that if they don't talk about it, etc. that maybe it will just go away.
It's all so stressful.
Doodle - I'm sorry your family is being so unaccepting, I can see how that would make life really hard. Kelly makes a good point though, you have to live your life for you and not your family. Just call them, tell them, and then it is up to them to work towards acceptance. There is nothing you can do to force them to that - hopefully, over time, them seeing you happy will be enough.
-
Julie! How are you!! Any day now, eh? Michael must be so excited. I know Henry would be beside himself. Hopefully one day.
(Pls tell where you are registered again )
Hey
I'm doing good - I'm due just one week from today! We are both SO excited... and anxious It feels like these last weeks are taking forever. And yes, one day you will waddling around just like me! It's only a matter of time.
We're registered at Target
Damien comes home tonight We had a wonderful trip...7 of my closest friends traveled with us. My friends and I did lots of tourist stuff while Damien chilled with his friends and family. Damien went to the Sumfest the last 3 nights. I only made it one night...I saw Richie Spice, Lady Saw, G-Unit and Sizzla performances. My friends left Monday and I left Wednesday. Pictures will come soon.Wow - sounds like a great trip sjb! How fun that you had so many friends go with, now that sounds like a great time

Welcome Tali!!
LOL @ your honey and his fear of Kingston. He will be ok overnight. If you guys have the cash, try to convince him to stay at one of the following - each is right around the corner from the embassy. ( I slept like a baby as did almost everyone on this thread - no gunshots, no nuttin'!_
Courtleigh
Hilton
Altamont Court
Knutsford (not as close as the others, but not that far either)
Tell him I said he needs to be at the embassy awake and alert. Also, my dear Henry stayed at the hotel but decided to dash home to St. Thomas the night before and guess what... it rained and rained and rained and cars were flooded and roads impassable. I was losing my mind pacing in my room at the hotel. He finally made it back to Kingston at about 11pm much to my relief. So please encourage your guy to overnight in Kingston. Not trying to scare you....but you know JA...anything can happen.
Good luck and I am sure your interview will go fine!
This is such good advice

Good morning and Hope everyone is having a good weekend! We are doing just fine. Michael leaves for work at 4:30am and I just couldn't fall back asleep for a while after he left. I'm feeling great now... I shaved ---how I navigated around my belly I will never know!
We bought a new car yesterday and are going to pick it up as soon as Michael gets home - I'm so excited
A trip to the Embassy sucks, but I agree, I would play it safe too. I'm glad you caught it - I probably wouldn't have noticed and than ran into trouble when it was too late. Good luck, let us know how it goes at the Embassy.
