  1. It's broken down by age, so that's going to be the dependent factor on what is required. If you guys plan to have more children then your physician will likely recommend a TDaP instead just TD, so the baby can have some protection from pertussis, but that is perhaps a different question.

My suggestion for the physical will be to make sure they are using the current forms. Some other posters have had difficulties and had to get new forms signed because the hospitals were using old ones. Check that. The rest they will fill out for you. If she goes to that today, with an incomplete vaccination history, she will get a TD booster and an MMR, they do this every day for everyone they see without a history. She likely has already been immunized for these, but without records they will give these anyway. You can then deal with completing the form in the US and they can assist you in additional immunizations or antibody tests as they see fit.

Thank you again. I haven't been on in a while, and I just saw this. I will make sure they're using the correct and up to date forms. I've told my fiancee what shots she'll most likely receive and she's ok with that. I went by the age on one of the charts I printed. She probably already has been vaccinated with them, but giving them again is needed without documentation. Has to be done. She was also curious if the shots (or any) could be completed in the U.S. I said yes. :)

  2. For some reason VSC is kind of slow comparing with CSC. VCS is almost two months behind from CSC. I hope they will catch up soon. However since you are almost close to the 5 month USCIS time-frame, you should have to consider calling the USCIS or set up appointment to your local office through InfoPass.

Yes, it's too bad VSC is slower than CSC. I found that out when I was in the process of submitting, and it wasn't fun to read:( Anyhow, hopefully since I am so close things will progress positively. I did just check out InfoPass as I haven't heard about that before. What is the purpose if you can call the USCIS? Get more detailed info? I know that sometimes the USCIS doesn't really give, or cannot give the info we want to hear. So I would think so.

  3. Hey, I would call USCIS and talk to Tier 2 agent directly if I were you. The website and phone system doesn't work well - won't give you the latest update. My case was approved last Friday and website/phone system still shows Initial Review. Tier 2 will give you the latest status.

I'll do that, thank you. That would be nice if it's been approved and they've yet to send it out in the mail... I wonder if that's happened before? :)

  4. Hello everyone,

We're coming up on the 5 month time frame (7/9) since I received the NOA1. I have one touch shortly after they received it. Hopefully we should be hearing something anytime now. It does say that our case should've been adjudicated between 6/1 and 6/16, but I know it doesn't always go as planned. Hoping to see something positive in my mailbox before July... I just say to myself that this is the longest part of the process. (hopefully!) :) Hang in there everyone else!

  5. She'll get a MMR and a TD booster. They will then mark those categories "insufficient time interval" and she will get a reevaluation by the CS in the US when you file AOS. My wife got a blood test confirmation for antibodies and then they signed the form. Since she has an incomplete vaccine history I would guess something similar would be your case as well.

Thank you. I just replied to my reply and saw yours. Yes, my fiancee doesn't have any records. She knows she received some when she had her children, but can't remember fully. (Since she has children, would this matter which ones she requires?) I did see one of your replies in the past, very helpful. I will have her get the MMR and TD booster to start then. We'll see what else she'll need at the physical (if any).

  6. Hello, I'm back again after finding out more information. My fiancee doesn't have a record of her shots, so will likely need several when the time comes. I've referred to the Embassy website where it says the measles, mumps, rubella, and TD are required. I've also referred to the NVC website for the full list and rubella isn't included. I'm sure that's required though as it's a requirement in the U.S. Anyhow, just so she can receive some locally before her exam, and if she requires a lot, which ones should she receive? I know the panel physician determines which ones at the physical, but I want to possibly avoid her getting many of them at that time. Should she just receive the basic ones I mentioned, then wait for the physical?

    Thank you!

I should've contacted the hospital, as suggested earlier by Ning, and I will. I don't want her to be a pin cushion at her physical, and I don't think she will now. I researched a bit more and found the ones she'll most likely need, and I'll have her go locally to have those done. Once at the physical, she'll have the remaining ones done there. Again, I'll contact the hospital to make sure and hopefully they'll reply, but they could say just wait for the Doctor. We shall see. I think this all stemmed from thinking she needs everything done before she comes the United States, but I've since found out (Thank you again Ning) that she can receive any remaining ones here. I apologize for all this. We haven't even received the NOA2 yet!! Five months will be July 9th!

  7. Measles, Mumps and Rubella. This is the series of three shots. My main concern was her getting all of them before my fiancee comes here. I've since researched and found that she can finish receiving them in the U.S., or as you said a booster if needed. The embassy info tab at the top VJ has all the requirements too. I'm sure she can go to her local town clinic and save a few dollars on her shots. I now have to talk with her and see what's she had so far.

    Thank you for the reply.

  8. No problem. To get those instructions I just typed this in a google search "packet 3 bangkok". That should have all the info that will be needed for packet 3, the medical, and the police report. Yes, that is the info you will need to do after you get your NOA2. I can only say about our experience at BNH, you do not need to bring pictures because they took her photo when she checked in and they also provide the documents to be filled out for the embassy. I did not look at the detailed bill when we were done so I do not know if they charged for the pics and the documents. Oh yeah, the price it says for the medical is just for the medical, if you have to get shots or other things it will cost more but if you get the shots at a local hospital and bring the records to the medical that I am guessing would be cheaper.

This talk of passport pics reminds me I need to call Pui and now just make sure she two 2x2 pics for her interview next week.

Thanks Andy. I will do a search and check that out. I'm glad about the photos. It seems a bit more confusing when they want a different dimension than what's needed at the actual interview. I'll keep BNH in mind for sure though and watch for any additional charges. That's ok though. I'm aware of the prices of the medical only. I'll surely have her bring the records of the shots when she goes to the exam. Good luck to the both of you next week!

  9. Nottoolong, you are correct. There are only 2 places in Bangkok and 2 places in Chiang Mai you can go for the medical. Here is link to the 4 hospitals where it can be done. My link. I emailed both BNH and Bumrungrad about making an appointment and Bumrungrad wanted me to make an appointment and BNH said we could just show up. I went with Pui back in April to BNH it took about 3 hours or so. When Pui got her police report she had to go back and pick it up a few weeks later but I have heard of some people having it mailed to their house.

Sounds good Andy. Where did you get the instructions in your link? Is this something that will come when I receive the NOA2? That's good to know about the two hospitals in Bangkok. I wish I could go with her, but she'll bring one of her friends or family members. That would be nice if they mailed the police report.

About the instructions in the link, it says to take the attached forms. Are these more documents that will come when we receive more instructions for the medical exam? And I apologize for this last question. This also says to bring 3 1 x 1 1/2 in. photos for the exam. Are these dimensions really required? For the interview, the 2 photos required are 2 x 2. Seems they should be able to accept the same passport style photos?

    Thank you again.

  10. You are doing fine & this will all be ok. Anything you may have missed wont be a show stopper. There are places around Thailand where she can get her passport taken care of. I went to Khon Khen for example. Its easy to do.

Thank you again Ning. I know things will all work out in time. I'm glad there are more places where she can go other than Bangkok for the passport. All that's coming up can be overwhelming (Vaccinations, physical, police certificate, forms), but we'll get there. Just have to get that NOA2 first!

You answered a question I had about vaccinations a couple weeks back, thank you. Once the NOA2 is received she can go for the physical and to obtain the police certification in Bangkok. It's a 5 hour drive, so she can get both done while there for a couple days. I've have her obtain the necessary vaccinations either before, or soon after I receive the NOA2 locally to save some money, like you suggested. I saw on the Embassy's website that physicals are only in those two hospitals in Bangkok (or Chiang Mai). Has that changed? That will be ok though, as she needs the police cert. in Bangkok anyway.

    Thank you once again.

  11. It took a week to get mine. If hers will expire within a short time ( 6 months ) of arrival I would have her get a new one there. I know people that got them in L A & it was a real pain.

Thank you ThaitoUSA and Ning. That doesn't seem too long to wait. I still haven't spoken with her tonight, but I'll check. The big thing is when it will expire of course, so I want that to be all set. Would she have to go to Bangkok to have this done, or just in her hometown? I'm sure she knows, but I'm just curious until I talk with her. There are so many things that need to be done after I receive the NOA2 (hopefully soon!), but I'm just trying to get things in line now.

  12. Hello everyone,

We're almost 4 months since receiving the NOA1, and the questions are mounting. I have to double check with my fiance in Thailand, but I'm not sure about her passport to come here. What is the usual time frame to receive a Thai passport? I have to see if she has the required 6 months from when the visa could be issued. Then, I'm not sure if she has to get a new one or just renewed. Any thoughts?

    Thank you.

  13. Leave those boxes blank or just draw a horizontal line through the box. If you enter "n/a" or "none" then it implies to the CO that you don't have any of those assets when, in fact, you're simply choosing not to declare them.

You're supposed to include evidence for any asset you list. This evidence is supposed to prove you own the asset, and demonstrate it's value. For a home, you'd need a copy of your deed or title to prove you own it. You'd need an appraisal from a licensed appraiser to prove it's value. If you have any liens (mortgages, equity line of credit, etc.) then you'd need to include statements from the lien holders. The value you declare on the affidavit would be the different between the appraised value and the sum of the liens. If you qualify on income alone then it would be easier if you didn't declare your home.

Thank you JD63 and JimVaPhuong. I see now. That's right, if I did include my home, quite a bit of backup documentation would be required. I'll just leave everything blank since I qualify on my income, or put a line through the rest of the questions.

  14. Hello everyone,

We're now almost 4 months since the NOA1 was received, and I've been looking ahead for a while now. My question is regarding question 7. I do make the 125% Poverty limits, and I read in the tips section that this part goes by the same criteria as the I-864 form. Since I'm ok in this regard, do I just right N/A when they ask for deposits, personal property, stocks, and life insurance? I own a home, so I will include this.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

  15. MMR?

She could get the shots at her doctors. She will need a record of those shots to submit at the hospital. The basic medical has to be done at the required hospitals.

One of you should contact the hospital to make sure she knows what shots are required. Those that need boosters can be done later in the USA.

I had mine done at our local county health clinic for 23 dollars rather then the 250 a doctor wanted.

Measles, Mumps and Rubella. This is the series of three shots. My main concern was her getting all of them before my fiancee comes here. I've since researched and found that she can finish receiving them in the U.S., or as you said a booster if needed. The embassy info tab at the top VJ has all the requirements too. 16. Hello,

I received my NOA1 3 months ago and I have a question about my fiancee's required vaccinations. I checked the medical exam requirements and I didn't even think of the MMR timeframe. If she doesn't get all the shots before the interview, does that mean she has to wait to come over for all of them to be completed? Also, does she have to go to the hospitals only offered in Bangkok or Chiang Mai? Seems she could get the shots by a Doctor in her hometown. I have to double check what shots she has received up to now.

    Thank you for any input.

  17. Should not even be an issue.

Also for Thailand specific questions or concerns, there is a thread located about 6 pages back in this K-1 forum which is called SAWASDEE or maybe SAWASDEE-3. Something like that. Feel free to learn about the I-129F/K-1/Embassy interview process and ask questions about bringing your fiance(e) to the USA.

Thank you for the quick reply. I wouldn't think so either. I have seen the thread and have used it before, I just didn't think of it when I sent this: ) I will surely refer to it in the future, as I'm sure I'll have more questions.

    Thank you again!

you already passesd a back round check to get the FID.

    Good point!!

Thank you for the replies too!

  18. I wasn't expecting the hard copy to come so soon after the e-mail. Nice surprise today! I have an RFE question though. I have an FID card that is presently in the process of being renewed. During their background checks in VT, will that put up a red flag? I wouldn't think so as it's only an FID card and not a license to carry and I enjoy target shooting with my father occasionally. I have no criminal history whatsoever.

    Thank you for any input!

  19. Hello,

I just sent in my I-129F this past Tuesday, and it was received the next day. I was just re-thinking about the signature of my fiance on the G-325A form. I did ask her and her cousin (who's helping me here)about this before I sent it. On the bottom of the form where is says signature, my fiance printed her name. When I spoke with her cousin, she said that's the way she has it on her passport, or something of the sort that she has in Thailand. Does anyone think I'll get an RFE to have her really sign her name? I think she has always printed it whenever she was asked to in Thailand. She did write her name in Thai where it asks right below.

    Thank you.

Save a few bucks, and simply mail using the flat-rate priority mail envelope from USPS to the TX PO BOX. You can track this. Overnight "Express" wont save you any time.

Thank you. That's a possibility as well.
