  1. Is there any bearing on how or who pays the AOS fee to US Department of Homeland security:

I.e. a US money order, or personal cheque from the applicant or immediate relative (me the spouse on a K1) from my new bank account or from my husbands account, which would be more appropriate? .

And I am getting mixed reviews on the mailing of it: the 131 Dearborn address is for express post correct? thank you VJ and all the wonderful helpful people on here....I wish you all the best this holiday season and may all your wishes and hard work come to fruition....:star:

  2. thanks, sounds wise, in leau of that I included a copy of the VISA medical Receipt I received from Seiden Medical center...hope that works...

I've heard that in addition to just the first page of the I-693, it's prudent to include one of the pages from the instructions that states you don't have to re-do the medical if it's within a year and highlight that part, just to demonstrate you know what you're doing and reduce the chances of an RFE :)

  3. I sent it without..so far so good!!!

So happy to see all is falling in place for you ...congrats on getting the EAD/AP card....Thanks for the reply to my 1-693 question, I was told by another member that I should definetely add the 1st page of 1-693, I'll check out the USCIS site and reread the instructions on that.

    AGain Congrats

  4. The form can still be checked incomplete and that you are eligible for a blanket waiver. Some shots are not age appropriate so you didn't need to get those. If you had all the shots that are required for AOS at the time of your medical when you received the DS-3025, then no need to get the I-693 filled out by a CS. If you still needed/need shots, then you need to see a CS to have the vaccinations portion filled out and signed off by them.

By the way, the instructions and form have changed on the USCIS page for the I-693. You will need page 1 done, and the vaccinations page. The instructions still state no new medical is needed, but if you have a copy of your medical, I would bring it along with the instructions to prove no new medical is needed.

I was given no copy of my medical, only that sealed large envelope that was giving to the POE officials at my departure, hopefully all departments are in sycn and my medical results are where they should be and I don't need to do anything other than complete the AOS with my vaccinations record ds-3025 and all will be well.

    thanks again everyone

  5. thanks everyone, I checked the form and only the 1st 2 result boxes were checked:

"Application may be elibable for blanket waiver as indicated above"

and "application may be eligible for blanket waiver because vacciniation(s) not medically appropriate

however this box was NOT checked off: "vaccine history complete for each vaccine ...."

I am still going to go ahead with only the first page of 1-693 as indicated by Jay-kay, thanks JK, and hopefully this will suffice.

    ------------------------

If under the results section the following has a check mark, you don't need the I-693

*Vaccine history complete for each vaccine requirements met (documented above)*

  6. Hello Fellow VJ"s

Finally started the AOS process, and I am confused about the 1-693 form. I did review the topic thread specifically on this topic and it states:

If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.

I think I will send in my AOS/EA/AP without this I-693 form. I was only given the vaccination worksheet (I don't see any number on this form, but I believe it is the Ds-3025) from the Dr. at my Medical back in August of this year.

HOW SAFE AM I TO SEND IT WITHOUT THIS 1-693? seeing I had my medical within the year with the Panel Physician

  7. I'm still being lazy and slowly getting our AOS stuff together. Still need to make photocopies of my passport, get passport pics taken, etc. Forms are all filled out though. That's a step!

Applied for my SSN today. How long did it take everyone here to receive their card in the mail?

I have my SSN number under my maiden name, can I still go ahead with the AOS/EAD and AP ? or do I have to change the SSN to my married name befor I do the AOS process? congrats on the forms being complete..

  8. Hello All you AOS experts,

I do not seem to have any of these forms, the closest form I have is a from from the Dr. at my medical in Toronto, it reads"VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION MEDICAL WORKSHEET TWO", it doesnt say anywhere on it DS-3025 or I-693. I am worried that I was suppose to perhaps ask for these at the POE entry at Buffalo. I am starting to gather everything for the AOS and I am worried that I am missing these, could the form I have be sufficient?

Was I suppose to ask the POE people for anything back, can I just send in this form and see what happens?

Thanks everyone, I thought this process would be easier and I wouldn't have to start asking all you experts, all my questions again..MUCH THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I researched this topic more thoroughly and found Captain Ewoks Topic : http://www.visajourn...93-and-ds-3025/, sorry I posted this new topic without proper research...opps

  10. I finally got my SSN in the mail! Anyone else think it's weird that it's an unlaminated paper card? (Yeah I know you can't laminate them) I like Canadian SIN cards better.

Can't wait to have insurance again! Yaaaay! Free dental cleanings and glasses! XD

I thought it was SO WEIRD TOOOOO, just a flimsy piece of paper that means so much. I am so happy though that it was so easy to get it, but now that I am married and changed my name, I haven't updated it...DO I HAVE TO BEFORE I DO THE AOS?????

  11. Same here Coconuts! So not looking forward to it! How was your wedding? Mine was great! We got snow! A little gift from Canada :D

so happy your wedding when great? will you post pictures? I am not sure if I will put ours up......my family is hoping I will have the grand wedding there with all the family & relatives, but I cried at ours and it was just the civil ceremony, Imagine if the church was filled with everyone I know, I would be a blabbering sobbing bride...not a pretty site, and plus the with me taking so long to do the AOS I am not sure I will ever be able to go back again..:o

snow? too funny Truckee, not too far from where we are got snow and I am so anxious to go play in it.....miss it along with TImmies coffee big time!!!!

YAY!! :D It means our case was transferred to CSC (California Service Center) for processing. From what I have read here on VJ, it normally means that we won't have to go in for an interview .. so hopefully we will get the approval/greencard a lot faster!

    that sounds great!!!!

  12. Yep! You'll do biometrics around the 1-2 months mark. AP or EAD around the 2-3 month mark. IF you get an interview (not all K1 adjusters do) that could be 3 months. If you get the GC without interview could be 3-5 months. Lots of waiting!

p.s. Have a look at the AOS thread in my signature. Should make it less overwhelming for you. :)

saved it as "watched topic" so I can always refer to it...thanks so much (F) it is so detailed and helpful...

thanks so much Venessa, I just have to figure out how to save this somewhere on VisaJourney, so I never lose such a helpful list...

  14. FInally doing AOS today and I have a couple of questions.

When it refers to the DS-3025 for vaccinations, is that the "Vaccination Documentation Medical Worksheet Two" that was on the outside of my medical? Under results, the following is checked off for me: Applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) because vaccination(s) not medically appropriate (as indicated above)" And "not age appropriate" is selected for some of the vaccinations. Is this all I have to submit? It doesn't have a form number written anywhere on it.

This is probably really stupid... Where did you find your Non-Immigrant Visa #? On my visa there's a number in red that's printed overtop of the end of my husband's name so I can't really read it too clearly, is that it? or is it the "Control Number" at the top? (Which is basically just my case # with 0001 on the end)

I know it is hard to start the AOS process, I imagine just being together finally, the last thing on our minds is the AOS, I am starting mine too, still so much to do with this one..sorry I can't help you with your question, but I am sure you will get one soon

  15. Yes. Read the instructions for the forms. You will see when filed "concurrently" there is no additional fee for AP or EAD.

ok will do...thanks...the instruction sheets are just as mind-boggling..now I know why I didn't want to start this process long ago...enjoying the journey far too much to think of more USCIS forms and processing...boo hooo, but I know it needs to get done.... ah whole new waiting game now I gather?

  16. If you file for AP or EAD either WITH or AFTER filing for AOS then there's no fee. If filed after you include the NOA1 from the AOS and the fee is waived.

Thank you everyone, I checked out the USCIS site and it is quite confusing: Their fee schedule states:

    I-485 -AOS - $985 plus biometrics $85.00 total of $1070

    1-765 EAD $380

    I-131 AP $ 360

I am not too clear if I do all 3 together then I only pay $ 1,070.00? is this correct?

  17. Hi Everyone.

I have already posted this, but for some reason can't find it again. I am finally ready to start the AOS process, and need some advice please, I understand I need to download the following:

    I-485 (A0S)

    I-785 (EAD)

    I-131 (Advance Parole for traveling)

My question again, how much for all these applications, if someone can provide the link to the updated fees, as the link in the AOS thread is not directing me correctly

thanks everyone for all those who have gone thru the AOS process, been so reluctant to start this process but I know I must...so any push from my fav VJ'ers will be most welcome...

  18. Glad to see some people have gotten their AOS filed!! :D We have to wait a couple of weeks to save up before we can send ours, but I've been looking at the forms. Seems easier than the K1 stuff, at least?

CONGRATS to Coconuts & Sherrybaby for making their long-awaiting POEs! :D

(Let me know if I've missed any updates!)

AOS...oh boy don't want to start this process yet..enjoying life now...got my SSN number but realize I have to process AOS before I can start looking for a job...all my goods arrive on Monday so this will keeping me busy for quite a while...been busy painting and organizing but must concentrate on the AOS...
