  1. good evening to you all,my fiance just had a letter from the us embassy in ghana and the content of the letter goes..: please come to the consulat section of the embassy of the usa ,located in cantonments, accra any wednesday except holidays at 730am to pick up an appointment package in connection with a k1 visa petition filed on your behalf.please notethat when you drop off your call in letter or email at 730am, you willcome back at 2pm that same dayto pick up your package. my question how is do i just go to the embassy and ask for my package or i have to wait for them to contact me?

Thanks for your concern and love!

    may

    He

All he needs to do is go to the embassy tomorrow morning at 7.30am, make sure he take the letter along with him and if its an email, he should print it out. When he gets to the embassy in the morning, the security will take the letter from him and ask him to come back by 2pm and then, he will be given his packet 3 and 4

  2. My fiancee has her tube tied and we planning to have it reversed so we can have a baby . Does the CO ask to see prove that we can still have a baby during interview if yes, what type of prove? I ( beneficiary ) am 34yrs and she's 45.

    Thanks in Advance.

  3. That means your husband interview will be in Ghana. He does not need a visa to live in Ghana, since he's been living here for 2yrs now, all he need do is go ahead and apply for his Ghana residence permit which i believe he can get without stress. But if he wants his interview in Lagos, he will have wait for his file to get to Ghana first and then contact the Accra emabssy for change of Embassy and I learnt that might take upto 4weeks before they send it to Nigeria.

  4. Please i would like to alert each and every one here on the new fees the Ghana embassy posted on their web site.I am happy with the fee because onlike me i suppose to pay 350 previously on a K1 visa but now i think i will pay less which will be only $240.00.Thank God ,and this takes effect 13th of this month onwards. So if your interview is after this date then you might be lucky.

Please i coppied and pasted it but you can check on their website too.

"Effective April 13, 2012, the Department of State will adjust visa processing fees. The fees for most nonimmigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards will increase, while all immigrant visa processing fees will decrease.

The Department is required to recover, as far as possible, the cost of processing visas through the collection of application fees. For a number of reasons, the current fees no longer cover the actual cost of processing nonimmigrant visas. The nonimmigrant visa fee increase will support the addition and expansion of overseas facilities, as well as additional staffing required to meet increased visa demand.

Although most categories of nonimmigrant visa processing fees will increase, the fee for E visas (treaty-traders and treaty-investors) and K visas (for fiancé(e)s of U.S. citizens) will decrease".

    THATS GOOD!!!

  5. thank you.

Ghana embassy is hard if you are not prepared and organized. People can hear you interview because the seats are close to the windows. I actually saw people got denied because they left out necessary documents. If you use a labeled folder, it will not make much sense because you will have to take out the documents and hand them in. Once you do that everything will be in a big pile and the CO will not be able to find your information quickly. I will suggest using paper clips and tabs onto the documents. I used very small tabs. I then labeled and stick them onto my documents.

Thanks so much for the info. If I may ask pls. how many copies of chatlog and pictures did your fiancee took with him to his interview.

  6. Ok VJ Friends, I must first say thank you God for his great faithfulness. Secondly, thank you VJ friends for all your help. We could not have done it without you. I will make this as brief as possible. Our interview lasted approximately two minutes. That's right 2 minutes. Unbelievable! My fiance and I got to the embassy around 6:30am. Our interview was scheduled for 7:30am. There were a few people waiting for their interview. Around 7:00am the guards signaled us to get in line so that we can go into the building. My fiance showed them his appointment letter and his passport. When I showed them my passport they said I have to wait until 8:30 to enter the building. I sat patiently and waited. The guards were not rude. They were very firm and polite. When I finally got into the building I had to sign in. My fiance was

waiting for his interview. His documents

were submitted, he was finger printed, and his visa fee of $350 was already paid. (walk with exact amount sometimes there is no change. you can also pay with the equivalency in cedis) When my fiance was called to the window he was sworn, did biometric confirmation(fingerprint) and asked these questions: 1. How long have you known your fiancee? 2. Did you pay your visa fee in usd or cedis and how much did you pay? The CO got out the blue slip for approval. While she was filing the blue slip out she asked him, "you had an engagement party?" My fiance said

yes. The CO said good news you are approved the bad news is you have to wait until next month to travel.

The interview was over! While my fiance was packing up his truck load of documents, she asked, "What do you do?" He responded. The CO said, "Just curious." Guys I cannot stress enough, organization and presentation is the key to your k1 visa. The more you present the less questions will be asked. I saw people get denied. It was simply because they were not prepared. The CO was very courteous and friendly. We are willing to help with any questions based on our experience. Relax, gather all your information, organize it properly and stay positive.

    CONGRATULATION!!!

My fiancee will be having his interview date soon and we are starting to gather our evidence, please can you share with me how you presented your documents, what and what did you took with you? How many copies of chat logs? pictures, how many visits ?

    Thanks and God Bless.

  7. I agree with midge you have a year or more to begin gathering information. I just went throught the interview process 2 days ago. What they want to see is the reality of your relationship. Over the next year begin to gather and put together everything. Write a progression of your relationship, Picures during your meetings, family pictures together, for phone calls using VIP for phone calls really worked for us. VIP even wrote a letter stating this is our client, she open her account thid date, she mainly calls Ghana, these are her calls type of thing. The certified letters from family and friends also are a good touch. Accra is a tough Embassy our fiancee visa was not approved that is why I worked so hard on the IR/1. It can be done and you have time.

Would you mind sharing why your fiancee visa was not approved?. Thank You

  8. He probably has enough information to apply for credit cards and such in your name. I would call the police non-emergency line and ask for advice. If he has done this before, he may be known to them- even if not, they can give you tips on protecting yourself. All I can suggest is to sign up for online banking so you can keep a close eye on your bank accounts, and also check your credit reports regularly. You could sign up for something like LifeLock, but I am not sure if that works after the fact.

    I AGREE WITH YOU!!

  9. Hello everyone. Please I would like to know if someone has gone through this before. Does the USCIS accept declaration of age ( from beneficiary ), that is what I sent in among the documents for our K-1 petition. We are still waiting for NOA2.. Do you think that will lead to RFE OR they will request we provide the original birth certificate.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. I am willing to be of Help.Where did you get marry? If its a registered court then you shouldnt have any problem in getting the marriage certificate.Yes, you will need to get both countries police reports.I will advice you to also have your interview in Lagos due to the current backlog of immigrant visa petition interviews in Ghana.I went through the same process the only different is the verse versa of your case.I am a Nigerian but lived in Ghana for several years, I even got married in Ghana but Had a change of Embassy to my home country Nigeria due to the delays In Ghana. If u did get marry in Ghana the certified marriage certificate shouldnt be a problem, You can always request for extra copy which is exactly what I did,It is usually long and very easy to acquire at AMA(Accra MetroPolitan Assembly}Depending on where u got married. If its Kumasi it will be KMA and if its at TeMA it will be TMA etc but if u did get marry in Lagos Iam sure they will be able to provide u with the certified copy. You Can get a Copy of ur Police reports at Sankara,Police HeadQ in Accra and that of Lagos at Alagbon, Ikoyi.I hope it Helps. All the best

Hey bro.. Please I need your advice on my case.. I am a Nigerian living in Ghana for about 3yrs. I met my fiance while i am in Ghana.. she's visited me here couple of times since last year. We already sent in our K-1 petition by October and now waiting on NOA2. My fear is this, I do not have a Ghana residence permit, do you think I will have to get this before my interview?

    Thanks in Advance.

  11. You must be a legal resident of the country you are interviewing in . So yes you must be a resident of Ghana if you wish to interview there. Have you tried looking at the Ghana embassy site ( for Nigeria or the US maybe ) to see what they say about redident visas ?

Thanks bro..I will look into that now..

  12. Please fix your information, looks like you applied for K1 visa. You will get a NOPA2 approval and your packet will go or processing. Are you there illegally?

What do you mean by NOPA2... And yeah we filled for k-1
