  1. Thank you for the replies. Sorry, I wasn't able to come back here because I got busy with my RFE and job interviews. I just want to update everyone. I just received an email said that my green card is in our mailbox now but I haven't checked it yet, waiting for hubby to wake up so we can check it together. :) I thank goodness we didn't need co-sponsor anymore. We just resubmitted our updated IRS and account statements, we also included a letter explaining why we didn't provide what they were asking for. We are so very happy that our immigration journey will rest for awhile (at least for 2years)

For that, My husband and I would like to thank visa journey and for all the members who are always there to help and to guide people like me.

  2. Hello all.

I just received my RFE notification requesting for us to provide a co-sponsor because they said my husband didn't meet the 125% poverty level even though on his tax return on 2010 was above $20,000. He has a 2011 tax return but the problem is, he just recently resigned from his job and now, he is self-employed--a day trader. my question is do we still need to get a co-sponsor because of his current status or just submit the 2011 tax return together with his bank and broker account statements?

    thanks,

    Jan

  3. I didn't remember St. Lukes asked me if I want to do the immunization or not but I remembered they asked me what kind of vaccinations I already received and asked me if I already had chickenpox and the likes...then based on my answers and based on the records I brought w/ me and of course, based in my age, they gave me the immunizations I needed....

  4. Darn it I really don't want to leave my passport with them, I still have 4 years in it. I hope they do some stamping instead of giving me a new one.

I feel the same. I don't want to leave my passport w/ them. so I'm thinking to report my marriage and get new passport under my new name when my old one is about to expire..I still have 4yrs in it as well anyways.......do u think that's possible?

  5. ,

"The poor girl must have had a desperate life in the Philippines for her to feel this was her only option. How much choice did she actually even have??"

    Darren,

You know what? I was accused of being a gold digger too, that I only after my husband's money and citizenship, that I only want to get my a$$ to US to have a better life. I was accused not once but many times, not only his family but his friends too...some even accused me that right in front of my husband's face, but u know what he said? he said, who cares, he doesn't care what other people say, important is "us", loving and respecting each other. we know what is true so why bother to go around and try to force ourselves to be accepted by those people who don't like us.....my husband was disowned by his family and his friends cut him off too. when we got married, it just the 2 of us and the judge but we are the happiest couple that day. we don't have family nor friends here but we still happy. everyday is happiest day for us because finally we are together....:D

Just like what other said, move on, dude! I know how important family is, but u already have ur own family now. take care of them. cherish them. don't try to prove anything to anybody. just prove to urself that u are man enough to stand up for wife and for ur kids. Don't let Gretchen regret her decision of marrying u....help her, support her. instead of learning her language, let her learn ur language. Enroll her to an ESL tutorial. Help her grow up, to be independent......

no offense meant and I don;t want to insult u or anybody here but dang man, reading ur posts makes me appreciate my husband more and more....

    TJ.

PS Life is too short for BS, man!!!! Live it up instead, enjoy it w/ ur wife!

  6. hmmmm I can relate w/ Darren's situation but us is different...

ever since I know that my husband's family doesn't approved me. They even disowned him because of me but even so, I still want him to contact them especially his parents. I've been telling him to contact them. I even asking him if he wants us to visit them but his always answered, i'm his family now and he knows how they are. he never wants to see how will they treat me. he never allow them to hurt me. I told him I think I can accept however they treat me, important is, they'll see that we are willing to get along w/ them and hopefully they accept me as part of their family eventually because no matter what, they are still his family.

Anyways, have a merry xmas everyone and a prosperous new year too...

Good luck to Gretchen and Darren and congrats to the pregnancy....

  7. couple should fight the homesickness and the difficulties together, not fight each other..

for me as the foreign wife, the last thing I need from my husbannd while in adjustment period is "fight"...

I agree, so difficult to adjust but if u are determine and willing (even ur nose bleeding 24/7 :P) plus the support and love of ur better half.....

u can surpass it w/ flying color...

    :D

  8. Hello...

My POE will be on the 19th, MNL - GUAM - HOU and I have stop over between Guam-Houston flight for 1.25hrs in Hawaii. I know my POE is in Guam but just a bit confused where I will get through customs? Hawaii or Houston?

    Thanks in advance....

  9. Ok just got off the phone with my fiancee. She was part of the group that applied back in July 2011 for an NBI clearance and they said here NBI clearance will not be able till first week of October 2011 due to some computer glitch/upgrade. Someone on the site and various other sources have stated that they got their NBI clearances in one day. She first applied thru Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga and I told her to go the San Fernando branch and inquire if they can process her NBI clearance in one day. They said it will take 35 days! So she didn't reapply for a new NBI clearance and she plans to wait till October till the NBI Clearance comes in... where in the hell can you get a NBI clearance in one day... i swear its a myth!

I'm sorry but she's been trying to get her NBI clearance since July 2011 and its already September 15, 2011 and she still does not have one! I am so pissed off with all the bureaucry that you have to deal with during the visa process.

I got mine for one day last Aug 18 at NBI San fernando because there's no more NBI in Clakrfield. I advise to don't inquire because they really give u the max days....just go there but go there early because they only cater 400 customers per day, fill out a form and wait for the long process...the process will take away ur whole day but once u receive ur NBI, it's all worth it... Actually, they told me the same about the 1 month process of the NBI clearance because of the new system (no, they are back to old system because NBI didn't renew their IT system anymore this year), and some even told me it takes 3months but I applied anyways and I was so glad I applied and didn't listen....well, I've known to be stubborn and persistent :))

or if u want to get it for one day for sure, and many already did it, go straight to NBI main branch in Manila....:)

Good luck...hope this will help u...
