  1. Wow, nice trick! good.gif Never knew you could do that. Granted, I was using Google Voice on my computer to call (free calls!) so that wouldn't have helped as I wasn't using my phone!

Just wanted to make sure you knew it was a separate process and not needed with the I-130 package. Some people get confused...

It may work with Google Voice too. You'd just save it as a contact the same as with a 'real' phone. :)

  2. foobaz, can you use GZO case number for the NVC AVR? I tried it which only seems to take GUZ case #.

It takes me about 1 week (5 working days) to get the IV bill invoice. I sent out EP with DS-3032 on 2/22 and got the IV invoice yesterday. NVCInquiry sends me duplicate emails for that (don't know why). And I received a "False" Checklist Cover Letter from NVCInquiry. I assume it is "False" since it only asks me to make the IV bill payment which I only got about a few hours before.

Probably not. I actually use the USCIS number as I programed the phone to autodial the entire sequence from "Hello" to the case number.

Putting it in by hand takes too long :D

If you wanted to do it yourself, the sequence is:

    6033340700;1,1,1,4,1,CASENUM#

Where the first bit is the phone number, the ones in the middle get to the point of entering the case number, the "4" is for WAC (you'll have to adjust it if you came through VSC instead of CSC) and CASENUM is your USCIS case number followed by pound.

On most phones the semi-colon after the number will make it wait for confirmation before sending the rest.

  3. Well, unlike other counties, for China EP cases, they get assigned a new, SECOND case number. There might lie the problem.

Wait until they respond to that email to see what they say. Have you contacted a supervisor yet?

That seems likely. There is probably a break down in the rehome process moving things, which at that point don't exist, from one case number to the other. When they don't exist, they probably move on and ignore the case until they do (if a manual move process) or the system sits and waits until it exists and someone comes along and kicks in the rear (if automated).

Either way, it's a bug they ought to fix.

  4. If you're sending in transcripts of 2008-2010, those are the last 3 years, so no need to send in 2007 as well.

And I included the bar-coded cover sheet for my EP packages. No way did I want to skip that and get a checklist for that!

Yeah, I think I will as well. Did you scan send it as it's own PDF or did you put all these documents into a master PDF with it as the cover sheet?

The only way to pull the 2007 transcript would be to rescan the transcripts. I may do that.

  5. I'm performing final assembly and check off on my AOS package. This is what is currently going in:

    • I-864EZ (verified as no spots blank and signed and dated)
    • Tax Transcripts for 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 (they are all scanned together as one PDF)
    • Employment letter
    • Possibly paystubs

Do I really need the bar coded cover sheet for an electronic case? I have it standing by in any case.

Can anyone see anything I may have forgotten?

  6. I believe I've found the form in question. Is it the one that just asks for the case number, visa category, names and what not? It doesn't even look like a form. Is the wife just supposed to print this thing and write the bits of information to the right of the lines?

Also, I nuked more link spam from the EP wiki page. I really hate those people.

  7. Okay... so... in short.. the Supervisor said she'll try and track down the original OPTIN email with DS-3032 attached. Of course, as she pointed out it probably wouldn't change anything at this point since the original and the one I sent in today would be racing each other into processing.

I do really wish I could get someone to say whether or not our evidence sent to USCIS has made it into the SAFEFILE or not. Like I told the Supervisor, if my spouse was coming from the UK or France it wouldn't be that big a deal. However, the loss of that evidence for someone coming from China would be catastrophic and would practically guarantee a denial at interview. Since as we all know, absence of evidence of bonafides is evidence of non-bonafides. :(

  8. Ya, there's yer snafu, as well. I tend to forget that, as you supposedly have succesfully OPTed IN now.

    Hmmmm.

Chase down the DS-3032 now with NVC - they close in 42 minutes. Ask for a supervisor FIRST. Tell supervisor yer an EP case, and the DS-3032 in the OPT IN has NOT gotten into yer casefile.

I'm on the phone with them now and on the way to a supervisor. The first lady I talked to was nice but seemingly a bit clueless about EP and GUZ. For instance, she was insisting that NVC doesn't scan any documents. Which left it a bit hanging as to how things were going to get into the SAFEFILE and sent to GUZ electronically. I suppose that would happen by magic? :D
