  1. I just got a sms text on my phone from california and they say that on March 1st they have updated my case status and will be mailing me an RFE in the snail mail.

I wonder how long it will take me to get that in the mail?

I really really (talagang talaga) wonder what on earth triggered the RFE? It would be nice to know what it is right now haha.

Anyway this is news so I am calling it a good thing.

Once I respond back to them and satisfy this RFE does that mean the NOA2 should be soon to follow?

I do not think anyone can say for sure. But the fact they have your file out and are working on it is a good sign!!

  2. Does anyone see the logic? VSC is moving pretty steady so far, today even 5 approvals already for VJers, but our estimated approval date is moving continually backwards. And since yesterday it moved another 2 days backwards :bonk: I'm getting nervous about our wedding date :(

    *bites nails*

This actually shows the moving average for petitions is getting larger and larger between NOA1 and NOA2. Not much that can be done unless they start processing them quicker and thus people approved number of days are less than the average. Seems like CSC is playing games with their numbers by working on some January and February petitions in order to make their number look better...on average that is.

  3. Thanks guys!! I'll go change it now.

oh and another concern.... I'm just full of them these days!....

As I stated in a previous post, I am presently living and working in St. Lucia, where my fiance lives (i never left after completing my Peace Corps service). Now my family is saying that we should just get married in St. Lucia, and all of them will come to us for the wedding.

Does anyone know what happens if you get married in your fiance's country while your K-1 Visa case is being processed??

I know that for people who are already married, its a whole other application...

I think this might just complicate things, but I wonder if it can be done.

Once again, thank you to everyone who is able to address my questions and concerns.

I know that I am lucky for getting to be with my fiance while we wait, but it is still very nerve racking, and very stressful!!

    Best,

    Ashley

If you get married out of the US, you will abandon the K1 and start over from that point on filing an I-130 petition. The conditions of a K1 visa is that you are able to marry in the US at ALL times during the process until the point of entry, where you have 90 days to marry within the US. If you marry elsewhere before this, then you would not be able to get married in the US, thus requiring a different petition. My suggestion is to wait and marry in the US, as you do not want to waste more time by withdrawing this petition and filing one after marriage.

  4. Interesting! Thanks for the info! We are still not able to view our status online either, my fiance called last week but they only told them they are aware of the problem and it will be there eventually :bonk: So I'll make him call again soon and ask to be transferred to IT. Hope it helps :(

Ask for manager from the first level customer support, tell them you wish to have a request put in with IT...IT will not ever talk to you. The second level manager that can look up the info on the internal system can verify the petition status and put in the request with IT. Do not ask to be transfered to IT, as they will likely just say they do not do that and not listen to you from there on out.

  5. One more update: my fiance called NCSC and they said that our case was not in the system  and it usually takes them up to 4-6 weeks since NOA-1 to put it in the system... so now i'm kind of worried, because we're almost at 6 weeks mark and my fiance says that he doesn't want to deal with them anymore :crying:

The first level customer service will not be able to see it. He needs to ask to speak to a manager and they will have access to the system that has the information. Specifically tell them you need to put in a request with IT to fix the issue of it not showing up online and the second person should be able to help with that. They will give a ticket number and tell you likely it will be 15 calendar days to fix it.

  6. we are still not able to chk our file on the uscis website..its past 30 days...anybody else in the same boat?

I am still in the same boat.

Same boat here. I've called them, I've emailed them, but nothing. Oh,,, except I did get an email back finally that basically said that I shouldn't email them any more about it

I got the same thing, called and specifically asked for it to be referred to IT staff to be fixed. The second level customer service representative put in a ticket and gave me a ticket number. Said it would be fixed by March 11th for me. Seems like a long time, but maybe it will be corrected sooner.

  7. Jaime has a A# from when she was adopted from Korea into the US. That is the one I forgot to put on. She kept telling me she didn't have one until I looked at her citizenship form but atleast it didn't throw up a problem.

I was looking at those other cases and I didn't see anything in common. We weren't all from Canada, and I'm sure many others have just as easy of a case as us that filed before us. I thought maybe Nexus but they don't have that. I'm going with just plain luck!

Yes, I think many people including you are very lucky. If you look at Igors list, we now have NOA dates from 2/1 back to 1/27 (5 petition approvals now, minus the weekend they do not accept them petitions). I do believe they are processing a box going backwards. Also, if you look at the data, the only day there wasn't this progress being made was Friday, which likely was due to vacation time with a holiday weekend. I do believe at least 1 adjudicator is processing a box looking for something specific and is going ahead and processing the petitions in it. For what reason we likely will never know for 100% for sure. All I know is, I do not believe in coincidences.

  8. Check this out... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/296982-post-decision-activity/

Another person from January...this one the 26th...working backwards. I think someone is hunting...whistling.gif

Thanks guys! I do feel bad as I wasn't in a rush for mine while there are others who are waiting to be with their loved ones. I'll allow it though since that removes a huge amount of stress of the shoulders. I didn't do anything special...I have a Nexus, probably the only special thing.

I would send in a revised form, Ashley. Play it safe that way. It'll probably not even matter. I forgot to add Jaime's a# to a few of the sheets and it didn't affect me.

Do not feel bad. You had no control over it...just be happy!!! Congrats

  9. Congratulations Pejo!

    Really, seriously fast approval.

Am I the only one getting excited by the fact that there have been a couple of January and February approvals?

I mean, the skeptic in me sees that they are 02/01 and 01/27 01/28 and wonders if someone just grabbed one box they shouldn't.

And then there's the part of me that got a touch on our case yesterday crossing her fingers.

Yes, I have a theory about what may be happening. We shall see if it proves out. We may be seeing a ripple effect from them trying to marry up (no pun intented there) paperwork from petition already in a box, and what I was told to send in for my revisions. Like I said we shall see, but it is funny that around the time my revisions get there, we see a working backwards from almost that date back into January now...almost as if they are looking for something. Again, that is JUST a theory and may be nothing more than a training exercise.

Still not able to get to any status online. Emailed them nicely and they sent back saying they do not correct things via email, that I have to call...which we know is not factual. Anyways, that is my thoughts for today.

Congrats to everyone that has been lucky so far. Many prayers here for continued luck for everyone.

  10. Anyways, if it /did/ take 15 minutes to complete a case, then a single adjudicator could complete 32 cases in a work day at max, if they did nothing that day other than work on cases. At 20 work days in a month, that means a single adjudicator could complete 640 cases at max in a month. Of course, this is assuming that they did /nothing/ else but work from log-in in the morning to log-out at night on cases, which I find very unlikely. I'm sure there are other things they have to do each day other than just nose-to-the-grindstone processing of cases. Meetings, coffee machine, water cooler, bathroom breaks, and of course - walking to the shelves to get a new box of cases!

Then you consider that there are 400,000-500,000 cases going in every month. When I expand this out, it means that to just keep up with the cases in the queue, it would take at a minimum, 620 people working non-stop, every day, with no vacations to keep up with a normal month's worth of petitions.

Henry Ford has already solved this problem. Two people that has only 1 function in life will be quicker than 1 person having 2 functions in life. They need to get to that point. Every petition can be broken down into functions that 1 person can sign off on, and when all functions are signed off on, the petition is ready for approval...which is another function, the last one before NVC. Until they get to that point, they will always be behind the 8 ball, saying they need more money and more people. Assembly line and technology is the only thing that will make this process better. But until there is an incentive to make it better, it will be just another day.

    Update for those Russian filers:

If you significant other tries to send you something from Russia, it must weigh under .5 KG including the package weight. I will be calling postal service in US tomorrow, but I guess they put restriction on for terrorist reasons. I will keep everyone posted on this. Unless there is a way to put people on some sort of safe list for sending, (which I doubt, but gonna complain and try anyways), then I guess it is paying way too much for DHL. Ughhhh!

  11. Yeah be very very glad. :( But, forever is what comes after this wait, right??

Yeah, unfortunately like my youngest daughter says...it seems like forever, when are they gonna be here. Well instead of letting the process get me down, I decided to allow my friend who also happens to work for my congressman take a crack at them. After emails, several phone calls, I can't even get access on the computer much less a human even tell me the revisions to my petition have been put with the file. So, since there seems to be a level of incompetence on my case, yet there has been at least 2 others rushed through from February for no apparent reason, I will let his office see what they can do. Perhaps enough situations like this happen, and USCIS will be forced to correct its terribly flawed system.

  12. umm its 7ppl, they will not tell me whats wrong with the co-sponsor, they just want us to have a new co-sponsor with all the income. what could be the reason still cant figure out , co-sponsor i had they are my friends not from the same household. so i kinda divided the intending immigrants in between. i put 5 with one friend and other 2 with other freiend.but the embassy asking for one household income to meet the requirment.they asking atlest $90.000 who makes this much money, god knows . i have a question . can my cousein be count as a family member can i use his income with mine? he is in diffrent state. this time i dont want to do any mistake please give me your best advice. or what else can i do at this time if i dont find anyone with this much income, can i bring some of the faimily members now and the rest can come later. can this be a option if so how? thank you very much for ur time plz put ur input . thanks agin

I think you are having trouble because you split them up maybe. A household size of 7, currently the the 2010 guidelines are being used which, 125% is $41,587 a year. I would make sure you have 1 sponser with that, and perhaps send in the paperwork of the poverty guidelines from USCIS circled and then on the documents circle the amounts showing it exceeds the $41,587.

  13. Hey Guys. I just noticed that I was last updated the 15th of Jan. meaning they touched us a couple of days after NOA1 xD I don't really know to if it's worth putting in the signature though LOL

Well I would call them and complain about sexual harassment if they touched you..lol.

I called today as I still have no access after an email...they continue to do NOTHING to get this fixed. Guy said nothing has been done, even though I had to send in the corrected forms. Little worried because of that and no updates showing in the system.

  14. Everyone i cant believe it but i was asleep on the sofa and as i got up i checked emails on my Blackberry to find this message

On February 17, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

correct me if i'm wrong but that was pretty quick as our time lines on VJ says CSC is on Sep 22!

    im still shocked!!

can anyone tell me what next?

NOt sure about next steps, but I actually anticipated seeing 1 or 2 October approvals today, as the data currently supports them being further along than what the site is currently saying. I say this as there are many 9-27 and 9-28 NOA1 approvals in the past couple days...so I knew October was coming. Now late October is a little bit of a surprise.

    Congrats

  15. TX lockbox received my I-129 packet Monday morning along with G-1145 form. Based on reading everyone's posts, it seems like it takes 5-10 days for everyone to receive their NOA1. Since I turned in G-1145, will they e-mail/text me as soon as they approve NOA1??

    Thanks,

They should send you and email and text message when the ACCEPT the petition. Typically the date on the notice is a couple days before the day you get the electronic notification, and the paper trails the electronic by usually a week or so. Also keep an eye on your bank account to watch for the check to go through. When it does, that is another indication they have accepted the petition.

  16. Hello -

I'll be traveling to Russia in July with my FSU wife and child. What type of visa should I apply for (wife & child are taken care of), and do any of you have a recommendation of the best way to obtain it? Also any insight on where to find the best fares would help - flying Chicago to Moscow.

Check out flights24.com. I plan on returning this summer and one way tickets look to be around 500-600ish, with sometimes tickets as cheap as 400ish one way. I would try several combinations and would recommend to stay away from Aeroflot unless there is a substantial $ difference.
