I received the following message from USCIS today at 00:25 AM ... Is that normal that they'll send an email / text this late?

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number NBC*************. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status."

And what is USCIS National Benefits Center and why my case was moved there? Thanks

If the form is supposed to have bar codes then check your printer settings to be sure that it prints all of the document properly.

Printer is working fine ... I do not see the barcodes in the form I'm filling electronically (I've tried downloading the form with latest PDF software but still no barcodes)

Hi all,

I've a few questions regarding my N 400 application:

a) I got the green card on Jan 14, 2011, and the USCIS calculator says I can apply on Oct 16, 2015 (which is today), is it safe to apply now or should I wait for a few more days?
b) I printed out my application of N 400 (with all the information entered electronically and then printed) but it doesn't have any bar codes at the end of any page. Is it safe to send the application without bar codes?

hi, I've received my 10 years green card ..... I qualify for nationality after 5 years - my question is, out of these 5 years how much time should I be spending in the USA so that after 5 years I would be able to apply for US nationality ?? I'm planning to move back to my country and to come to USA in between ..... Someone told me that I need to come after every 6 months, but I do not know how long the stay should be after 6 months ??

my biometrics scheduled 0n 8 feb ,but reading different post on VJ about early biometrics, i thought to give a try for walk in biometrics and went there in second half and did my biometrics 3 weeks earlier without any problem....hoping that this will help me in getting my AOS early...

USCIS mail will NOT be forwarded. Government mail is never allowed to be forwarded.

I would first try a walk-in at the Philly office. If you have proof that you're moving that would be good in case they try and deny it. If you are unable to attend your biometrics in Philly I would try and attend at the Florida office. A few people have done this successfully. I would do it BEFORE your appointment date so that if they won't allow the walk-in you can try and reschedule.

You can always try to WALK IN BIOMETRICS ..... Go to the mentioned ASC and hopefully you'll be able to make it ..... If not, when you move to the new place ..... Go to the local ASC (My biometrics appointment was at BALTIMORE but I went to VIRGINIA'S ASC and I had absolutely no problem at all) .....

If god forbid both of these doesn't work, then take and infopass appointment and check with the immigration officer - I'm sure, he'll be able to help you out .... Good luck

A great interaction when it came to walkin at Ft Myers for our bio... They were all very friendly and went above and beyond.. There was only 1 person there with an appt and they said it had been a slow week all around...

I got my I-551 Stamp on my passport today in a walkin infopass appointment today. Now, my question is as I've not received my green card until now - Is it SAFE that I travel with my I-551 stamp which is valid from today till July 2011? Will I face any problem in Pakistan or what??

If anyone of you who had an experience of going to Pakistan recently on I-551 stamp can tell me a little about it?? I've a travel plan for 10 days .... But I just want to make sure that the people at airports are well aware of this stamp and I'll have no problem in coming back ..... Plus how'll be the experience on USA port of entry with this stamp .... Any experiences ??

Oh dear. What you should have was ask for the temporary I-551 stamp in your passport while you were at your InfoPass appointment. I don't suppose it's a quick run back for you? The only other thing I can think of is to have someone send your GC to you at your destination and before you re-enter.

I didn't have my passport at that time unfortunately with me .... Plus, the guy said that as I'm a MARYLAND resident, I should go to the Maryland office for stamp .... I'm thinking to go today ....

Hello everyone .... I went today on an infopass appointment to check the status of my AP as I need to travel ASAP .... When I went there the guy told me that I would not be getting AP (I was extremely disappointed) and then after a pause he said, BECAUSE YOUR I-485 APPLICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED, Didn't you get the welcome notice??

OMG ..... I could hardly believe it ..... The guy wanted to make sure if it's not a mistake and asked me to wait, and he'll RE CONFIRM it ..... He called and confirmed with them .... and they said YES THE I-485 HAS BEEN APPROVED ON THE 14TH JANUARY AND THE CARD WAS SENT FOR PRODUCTION ON THE 17TH JAN 2011 ....

I'm sooo sooo sooo happy ..... I want to thank you all for listening to me, for giving me the best advice and for keeping me on the track to wait which wasn't as easy ....

Now, one more question ..... As I need to travel URGENTLY (most probably tomorrow or day after tomorrow), and if I do not receive my card by then, is there any other way out? Can I get a GREEN CARD STAMP on my Passport ?? I just checked my mail and I've received the welcome notice .... YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Yes EAD. They say should arrive in 30 days but I think i'm gonna get it either Friday or sometime next week
