  1. I just talked to my fiancee last night. After I made my lawyer fill out all the paperwork on the computer, so it is easier to be read. My fiancee talked to me yesterday, and told me that a girl told her that someone from the embassy told her you can't fill out the forms we sent you on the computer. It has to be filled out using handwriting.

Is that true? Anybody heard of something similar?

Kim, and Dahlia, do you know?

  2. Fiancee called, packet 3 in hand...What's next? Need to meet him via internet to show him what to do...the waiting finally came I am happy that US embassy in Cairo is finally for interviews.

The US embassy in Cairo sent my fiancee packet 3, 2 days ago. She should receive it today. But how do you know they are open for interviews? The website still says it is closed

  3. If you want to find out if it was received at the embassy call DOS with the following:

    1-202-663-1225

Press 1 for the Main Menu

Press 4 for Foreigners Applying To Come To the US

Press 2 for Immigrant Visas (yeah, yeah - we know they're not really)

Press 3 for Family or Employer Based Visas

    Press 2 for Fiance(e) visas

    Press 0 for an Operator

This is how I found out when my documents were received by the embassy. It might take a few days to a week for the embassy to update that they have received your documents.

Thanks a lot for your help. My petition is at the embassy now. Confirmed.

  4. If they shipped on 14 March 2011 then the track by reference number is EXP 14 MAR 2011A

You also may want to check for the 15th of March (EXP 15 MAR 2011A) also since it might not have actually left NVC until the next day.

On DHL you will see all the packages that were shippped under that reference number. Find the one that went to your country and then you can track its progress

The CRO number is your case number for your consulate.

    John

Thanks a lot. You are the best of the best..... It was delivered yesterday.

  5. It's weird cause all cases are on hold right now, what did they tell you when you call them at the NVC ?

All they tell me is that we shipped it on March 14th to the embassy in Cairo. Once your package leaves, we have nothing to do with it anymore.

I called the embassy to try to see if they received it, the lady who answered the phone was too annoying, she was like a tape. Our visa section is closed at this time. If you need any more info check our website.. so and soooo

    She wasn't helpful at all...

  6. Call NVC at 1-603-334-0700. Press 1 for English then 5 to speak to an operator. Answer their questions then ask if your petition has gone to the Embassy yet. If so get ask for your case number and date of shipment. Then go to DHL.com and select Track at the top and Track by reference number. Then enter the following information EXP DD MMM YYYYA (EXP 14 MAR 2011A). You may have to enter the day before or after the date that NVC gave you for shipment. Then you can track your petition to the Embassy.

Hope this helps. And you will receive a letter from NVC in a week or so after your petition is sent to the Embassy.

    John

So if my case number is CRO2011569006 & shipped March 14th what would be my tracking number I checked dhl.com and it only allows 10th digits

  7. Does anybody know if I should receive a letter from the NVC when they forward my file to the embassy? If they do. Do they provide the tracking info?

The reason I ask is that NVC is putting all petitions for people from Egypt on hold. I am surprised and worried too they sent mine anyway to Cairo even with the US consulate there being closed. I tried to call the consulate. It was a dead-end. Plz help

  8. probably when you call tomorrow, most likely they will tell you it has been forwarded to Cairo. I have seen somebody saying he sent documents to the embassy and they received them. So the embassy is open, and running, they just don't do any interviews at the time being. That's what I think. Keep me updated if you know from them tomorrow they did the same thing to yours. Thanks

  9. Hi,

Im trying to get through to USCIS I've called the number followed the prompts but every time i enter my receipt number it says that it's not correct. I've tried all the calling "tricks" mentioned in the forum but none of them get me to a live operator!

I'm not sure if it's due to the letters in the receipt number at the beginning EAC. how am i meant to enter those in?

The receipt number number works online through "check my case status"

    Thanks

you must enter the EAC, that is part of the receipt number EAC is 322 then you enter the rest of the numbers

  10. Well, yes, I find this a Very helpful bit of information. How did you find this out, about the 14th of the month I mean?

Sorry for the late reply. Anyways, I just found out because one time I talked to one customer service who appeared to know what she is saying, and was very helpful. Later on, I watched out to see if what she was saying is right, and it turned to be true. On the 15th of the following month. I called on the 15th, and the date has changed, and thus I was able to file a service request, which later on lead to my petition getting approved

  11. I called VSC today. Again I was told thar they are handling cases from 8/21... I heard that same story last week.

This is a common mistake or let's call it a misunderstanding that everybody goes through. Calling the USCIS, they tell him they are processing date, then in another week they still give him the same answer.

Let me tell you exactly what happens. They are not lying to you or anything. All what it is, is that this information gets updated on the 14th of every month. So if you call on the 20th of February for example, and they tell you they are processing applications filed till August 10th, you will here the same answer till the 14th of the month then you will start hearing a different date starting the 15h.

This is a common misunderstanding that lot of people go through. I hope my reply was useful to you

  12. Wooooooohoooooo thats great news and ME TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I got my GC approved yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a day it has been. well done and congrats :dance::dance::wow::yes::yes::yes::yes:

Congratulations..............So happy for you. I know how it feels now... Good luck and happy marriage for you

  13. All I can tell you is it wont get priority, why would you think that. My rfe's have only taken a matter of 2 weeks for approval so chill it's only the 19th

When I said priority, I meant priority over other applications that haven't been adjudicated yet, that has been filed after me. Not trying to step of others who got RFE like me. Sorry, I should have made this more clear.

  14. I applied for the fiance visa on July 29.

On January 31 I received an RFE for my divorce decree from my first marriage.

On February 11 I sent the divorce decree and was received by the USCIS on February 16.

I think I did a mistake that may cause a mess. I called the USCIS and filed a service request, thinking that my evidence had been received which was not. So they resent me the same RFE again on February 17. and the service request was denied because they thought I never received the first RFE notice.

Now the latest update on my account is RFE requested on February 17.

    I have the following questions

Will I have to resend the divorce decree again when I receive the second RFE?

Will the USCIS be smart enough to just approve the case once they see the divorce decree I already sent, and it is over?

I called the USCIS again, and they told me to disregard the second RFE notice, but I am still worried though. Besides, they told me I can't file another service request again, or inquire again before 60 days. This is how long it takes them to review the evidence.

Is that true I will have to wait another 60 days? How long any body think will vermont center approve my case?

I have seen some people's timeline, and they are actually complaining that they sent their RFE almost 4 months ago. Why would it take that long for them to get approved, and still nothing.

Is there a certain way how VSC handles RFE? I mean is my file back on the shelf collecting dust again? or should it have priority?

Please advise me. Sorry for the many questions. Please advise me
