Hola Amigos,
A February case was approved at VSC today
I have been following other petitions which have the same receipt date as ours and today one was approved! The EAC # is only about a dozen off from ours so I hope they are working on a whole box rather than it being an expedite, but regardless, it is still good news!!
Petition with case number EAC11190121545 was received on Feb 14th, last touched Feb 18th, and approved May 2nd.
Hope this helps to encourage you all

Thanks, I couldn't find anything different either except one has "A" and one doesn't! If we get a RFE I will be so frustrated with myself.. when I saved the G-325 to my hardddrive I labeled it as G-325A and didn't notice until after we submitted the petition that I saved the wrong form and mislabeled it. ARGH!
-
Has anyone submitted form G-325 instead of G-325A before? Did you receive a RFE? We have unfortunately made this mistake..
It is only a biographical form and the two are nearly exactly the same, so I hope it won't be an issue. Knowing how the US government and USCIS work I know it is possible when an adjudicator eventually reviews our petition they may send us a RFE. In the mean time I'll cross my fingers & hope to hear good feedback from VJers! Thanks in advance!

The senator's office was extremely happy and pleasantly surprised with everything I gave them. The said the letter was well written and just exactly what they needed.
Interesting. Of course now I am curious as to who the Senator is. McCain or Kyl? Regardless, reelection does not seem suiting.
I hope higher ranked staff members of the given Senator's office may be able to help in your quest to make change. Once you do get your beloved here I hope you do not become complacent and retire your efforts. All the best.

We need the green card so that she can be eligible for the new pre-existing condition health insurance that is part of Obama's health care reform. She has a pre-exisiting condition that would make any US health insurers deny her, so it is the only option for insurance for her.
The legislation you are referring to will not take effect until 2014 - if it is not ruled unconstituional beforehand, which has a 50/50 likelihood. On Monday, April 25th, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it will not expedite the hearing on the constitutionality of the Obama Health Care Act. The high Court will eventually receive this case for review, but the 9 justices elected to stick with tradition requiring the cases to move through the court system systematically (federal district courts to federal appellate courts and then to the U.S. Supreme Court). The 4th Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments on May 10th. This will be the first of the various state lawsuits to be heard by a federal appellate court. So while this may take some time, the various lawsuits are progressing quickly through the court system. The Act is unseverable so if the highly debated individual mandate is ultimately found unconstitutional this would void the entire Act.
You have 30+ months to bring your beloved to the US before "Obamacare" would take effect, this should provide plenty of time for whichever path you may choose to follow. Keep in mind that the legislation will probably make it to the Supreme Court by this time as well.
Good luck with whichever petition you seek to file.

Hi there fellow Filipina!
I think you can start working on those clearances you need as early as now. Do you know how long those documents are valid for once you get them? If CSC and VSC keeps churning out NOA2's like they're doing now, then i say work on getting those documents now coz our NOA2's will probably be here in no time!
We've started on ours.. the police clearance is time consuming, but everything else seems like a piece of cake (thankfully!) and greatful there is no CFO seminar/something similar required. I am tempted to encourage my fiance to have the medical examination done before receiving the NOA2 because the US Embassy in T&T wants the exam to be completed two weeks prior to the interview... I know this is me being impatient, I don't want to squander another 2 weeks apart!! Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas on trying to speed things up in this manner??
I keep checking Igor's list and this thread hoping to see some February filers start to show up
Soon friends, soon!

Woo hoo, congrats!
It is wonderful to see the approvals streaming in.

Hi Lovehurts,
My first question is have you met your fiancee face to face yet?
I would definitely suggest meeting someone before deciding to spend the rest of your life with them.(!) Both the fiance and immediate relative processes are long and expensive, but compared to the rest of your hopefully long and happy life it is minimal -- So as Inky said read up on the options as it isn't cut and dry. What works for one couple may not be the best option for another. I am going through the K-1 visa process but some days I wish we pursued IR-1 visa *sigh*
Good luck and best wishes

Nothing here... VSC has been working steadily the past couple weeks, which is encouraging. Those of you at CSC should be just around the corner!! I'm excited for you all and hope Vermont catches up!

Hello and welcome
My fiance also proposed in June 2010 (I can't believe it's been almost a year). We didn't send our petition in until February, but we have been together for 4 years, so I understand you on the waiting.
Good luck & may you have a speedy and uneventful journey.

congrats!!
and thanks for sharing your experience

I say go for the K-1 -- I think it's reasonable for people not to keep ticket stubs and all of the recommended secondary evidence you will read about online. I have been with my fiance for about 4 years, two of which he spent in the US. We aren't much in regards to being picture people so although we have a longer history we lacked in that area too. I visit him about every 6 months since he returned to his home country and my next trip will hopefully be for the interview, or sooner if I can afford to and am too anxious to wait longer
Personally, I think it is a little fishy if you have everything lined up perfectly. To me it shows you know the system a little too well and sounds staged. Be honest, you met randomly - that's completely understandable.
Good luck!

Congrats maggieb!
That is wonderful news. I'm happy for you it was so quick! Good luck through the rest of the process!

Hi all,
Here's some sobering numbers.. since it seems all I do is check my status at USCIS.gov & Igor's list.. thought someone else may be interested.
For the VSC Igor reveals 61 February filers, for the entire month.
For the VSC USCIS indicates over 60 petitions were received for February 14th - a single day! I'm sure there are more, but I got tired and a bit discouraged so I stopped plugging in numbers. I knew VJ is a small respresentation, but actual numbers make it hit a little harder just how big of a wait we may be in. *sighs*
Hope everyone is doing well with the wait and well with their significant other despite the distance and regular relationship woes.
Bests,
Danik

I sent the email to the senator yesterday morning, and at noon he sent me an email(it looked automated) I am not sure if they did anything but i got an email from USCIS last night at 8pm saying my peition was approved. hehe
congrats! This is encouraging to read about. Good luck on the remainder of your journey.

Good luck... unemployment rates are still high and the figures are skewed (it's worse than the news reports) - they do not include recent college graduates over the past several years or those who do not collect unemployment checks.
Low paying customer service jobs exist.. but if you want a salaried position it's a difficult process regardless if you are a USC or an alien. The health care sector is always in need of nurses and support staff, but that industry is in a real flux and will continue to change with the implementation of Obamacare.
I wish everyone the best, but realistically the job market continues to change for the worse.

Hi all
It's April!!
@ Andrey & Milena: My fiance has made initial efforts to renew his passport, obtain his birth certificate (Trinidad is a backwards country, when he went to renew his passport he learned they already had his birth certificate.. they kept it!), police records, and vaccine records (somewhere filed away.. I hope lol).
On my end I am lined up to have the I-134 and necessary financial paperwork ready. We are using a co-sponsor so this is where I want to be fully prepared and have everyting done in advance and taking my time so as to avoid putting pressure on my parents who are so thankfully going to help. I'm planning on going down for the interview if it happens before the end of summer (I HOPE!) so I will take it with me, otherwise I will overnight it to my beau as the time approaches.
There is a quite a wait to acquire some of the necessary paperwork (especially in some countries) but because we've already started on it we're pretty relaxed and no stress at this point. I hope the same for everyone else.
PS - anyone get touched or updated recently?

We do not have any extravagant plans - we will do a small civil ceremony with immediate family. His family is willing and interested in traveling, but we want to be together as soon as possible and it's too risky to plan a wedding with how processing times are fluctuating. Perhaps we will have a traditional ceremony later or a celebration/reception with everyone.
My fiance had spent 5 years in the US before returning to his home country almsot 2 years ago. We actually met here - so we are the more stereotpical couple although even when in the states we were hundreds of miles apart, so the distance and waiting is not new, but it is always painful. Fortunately we don't have to worry about adjusting and whether he will like it or not.

Hi Darryl,
The fee for the visa petition is $340.00 - this is the check you include with the I-129F package the petitioner sends.
The fee for the visa application is $350.00 (the link you shared) - the method of this payment varies from country to country but is paid at the Consulate level by the beneficiary after the I-129F is approved.
Yes, many fees.. it's a long and expensive process, but worth it in the end
..edited for grammar!
Is it Enough.

70 pages in emails, gchats, and skype messages? None of this is needed. I agree with Coconuts... keep the adjudicator happy and simplify your petition. It will take less time to be sift through a smaller package and hopefully make the wait LESS for those who file after you than (or atleast give them some peace of mind that their wait is not being extended because of ridiculously sized petitions).
