Yayyy good news - 2 Feb peititions approved at VSC so far today - congrats
AJ & NINA - did you knock on wood after you posted?! Nothing from CSC yet but they are a couple hours behind and people may update their timelines later..so who knows.
lovelyjoy, you make me anxious to go dress shopping too.. but we haven't even decided if we're going to have a traditional ceremony, I keep going back & forth about it - but I so want a dress.. I look forward for a few months ahead when people will post wedding pictures, ooo yes it is exciting.
smasbreuk, I have no idea about denial.. I definitely read a ton more happy stories than sad ones on this forum, but I don't know. I'm a bit nervous too, but there's not much we can do. I don't know much about the Embassy in Indonesia - but I hope they work quickly so you aren't waiting in anticipation too long.

You just stated: Yes we sent pictures. Hello ... Topic is Pictures... Good luck on your NOA2. I'm waiting also. Yes, I sent pictures.
Hi Tim,
Yes, I know what the topic is, thank you for your not so kind reminder. Do you remember that you posed a new question in this thread - asking how many of you submitted your I-129F without [p]hotos? We sent a couple. A couple indicates two. So, I would be a tally in the column of petitioners who did include photos, Sam357 would be a tally in the other column of petitioners who did not include photos.
Sam357 -- thank you for sharing - it is encouraging and I for one appreciate it, even though I sent pictures it is not as many as is probably "normal" and has me a little nervous. Good luck with the interview, I hope you may attend with your lady.
googled... no words for you...
You still don't get it. Jim isn't agreeing with you. He's recommending the OP wait and file the petition after the next trip. Photos taken after the petition is filed are not evidence of meeting BEFORE the petition is filed. If he files now, he'll have no photo evidence of meeting prior to filing now OR later. If he takes photos later and submits them as evidence of meeting PRIOR to filing the petition, he'll be committing a material misrepresentation.pushbrk has it exactly right. If the petition is filed now and no RFE, awesome - in the clear and hello Embassy. If the petition is filed now and a RFE is issued for photos any photos submitted taken after the date the I-129F was filed will be material misrepresentation. I would take the chance and file now. If you receive an RFE, be honest in your reply - you may get by. We are all human and an adjudicator may be reasonable and understanding. If you get stuck between a rock and a hard place then you are only out the petition fee of $340 as you'd be making the trip to see your love regardless - so that doesn't quantify as an additional expense.

I just quoted what they said. It is indeed what they said, as I know how to read quite well. I read through the whole thread as it progressed. All I have seen you add into the mix is a bunch of flip-flopping and confusing posts that usually make no sense at all. Perhaps you should follow your own advice and read and understand more carefully.
Seriously guys? To be honest, Tim, I have read confusing and contradictory posts from you in other threads as well.
OP, good luck! My fiance is not fond of photos either and we only sent a couple. Although we have been together for several years, half of which we both spent in the US while at university, our pictures were primarily from a couple months preceding our petition submission. Ideally I would have preferred photographs to cover the course of our relationships, but you just have to work with what you have. Don't stress too much and enjoy your next trip to the Phils.

This is an example of why there is such a thing as too much evidence. I think they couldn't be bothered ferreting through the massive pile of evidence and sorting it out so they just issued and RFE to get what they need succinctly.
Disagree on point one - it is a matter of having the right evidence, quality over quantity. The second point makes plenty of sense. If I was the adjudicator and had the option to issue an RFE or go through 130 pages searching for what I needed I'd definitely send the RFE as well.
For the third requirement of the RFE I would take it as looking for correspondence prior to one of your more recent meetings. It does seem a bit odd but the adjudicator is probably asking for this because of the massive petition you sent - just looking for concise confirmation. Fortunately you should be able to return the requested evidence quickly and hopefully get your approval in the very near future -- good luck.

You should never post anything on your Facebook profile that you would not USCIS officer to see:
USCIS Monitoring Online Networks to Determine Immigration Cases
Is USCIS Monitoring Foreign Nationals via Social Networking?
Completely agree.

I am in a very similar situation as I am still pursuing my masters degree, but my tax transcripts are a bit embarassing and are only because I worked summer jobs!
I am intending to use my parents (slightly complicated as they file jointly, and also work for the same giant corporation so I am going to get employment verification letters for both of them because their bank statements show only one big paycheck instead of two separate paychecks - which can definitely look fishy). They will fill out the I-134, submit a copy of tax return transcript for past three years, employment verification, and statement from the bank.
I will submit the I-134, short note explaining my student status for past 6 years, and my embarassing tax tanscripts.
I will identify them as "future mother & father in-law"
Lastly, I really hope this doesn't increase chances for denial. We filed in February and our petition is at VSC so we don't expect to reach the itnerview stage until Augusut.
Good luck!!

I keep reading about these, but I am still not used to such "quickie engagements" or deciding to uproot and spend your life with someone else in another country in a matter of weeks prior to actually meeting them... Have you met Darren? Perhaps your fiance is related.
But it's not me you have to worry about, it is the CO. I'd agree with Vanessa&Tony, could be a 50/50 chance of it being a problem. Best of luck.

$75USD to mail measely papers.. ridiculous. It is pricey to "overnight" to Trini too. Next day delivery actually takes several days - talk about false advertising.
Congrats Andrey & Milena!!
Lovelyjoy, about time huh? I thought NVC was supposed to be quick, but I suppose a couple weeks is nothing compared to the NOA2 wait.
Welcome smasbreuk, you should get that case number soon.
Would anyone like to put a good word in at VSC for the rest of us? This week VSC has approved petitions from August, Septemeber, October, November, December, January, and March - but nothing from February. I am pretty sure we have no red flags or anything obvious to worry about, but every day I get a little nervous or paranoid. Lately I've been thinking about the interview and getting denied there. I wish there were more members or reviews for Trinidad like there is for Canada or the Phils.
jingo, I have read from other VJ members that once a form expires they will continue to accept it until a new version is published. There are also some forms which indicate "previous versions also accepted." I do not know this for certain and have only read about i so I can't give you a link/source - but hopefully they will post something new on Monday. It's really not a complicated form so I'd hope Consulars would be understanding... but who knows.

I would think using the visa for a "testing" is really selfish.
I am in agreement, and 90 days really isn't that long at all.
Not to seem cold hearted, but I think most of you will agree, at times I wish the internet was never developed. There have always been and always will be scammers, but the inernet is a great enabler. For those of who you "found love online" I am happy for you, but that same medium which has brought you happiness also contributes to the PITA immigration process we are dealing with now.
Also, I probably wouldn't procrastinate as much if the internet didn't exist - I seem to lose hours in my week checking my case status and on facebook and the likes

so,suck it up,step up and take it like a man.that is coming from a 20 year old who didnt have a care in the world before all this and didnt even know how to deposit money to an account

Aww, good luck to you too. I am in that antsy stage waiting on VSC and seeing approvals flying out of CSC. Your post is encouraging though, thank you for sharing.
-
Wow, you guys are about a month and a half ahead of me... My timeline says July 11-Aug 1 .. ah well. You should get yours soon though.
Jess&Tim, I am so excited for you about the house & that's even better news that your emaployer will help you find something in the states. I agree on all the expenses, it can be a little stressful. I am working on my masters now full time and a graduate assistant, so my tuition is covered and I get a tiny stipend, but I'm looking for a full time job. I'd like to not have to use a co-sponsor, although my parents are tentatively lined up to do so. It's my goal to get a job, relocate & settle down all before my fiancé comes.
Barn and Cean you are definitely on track, I may tell Dan to use some of your examples for evidence of relationship. I frontloaded our petition for him, so I'll give him the reigns to compiles the rest. I like your idea for a small ceremony and that seems like a good site too, nice find. I'd like to go back to Trinidad & celebrate with his friends & family.. but.. I guess we'll see. That small detail where everything costs money and funnily, it doesn't grow on trees either!

I was pleasantly surprised when I called NVC last night (the 6th day). I didn't think I would be in their system so quickly. I'm very happy to receive my case number even before I got my NOA2 letter in the mail
Congrats, I am glad things moved quickly despite the dual e-mail confusion! Good luck.

Yep, I-134 expires 5/31/2011.
Wedding plans -- what are you guys thinking or planning? Big party when the foreign fiance arrives? Small legal ceremony now, traditional ceremony later? Just a small civil ceremony? Reception in home country??
We are planning to a small ceremony soon after he arrives so we can jump on AOS. Undecided on something later.. I'd like it, but it's so expensive, the planning, etc. After I get "married" once will I really want to do it again? He's wonderful, and good either way, just doesn't want me to regret it later. If we do have a fancy wedding he just wants to have a sports car to drive off in after

TBoneTX - I live relatively close to the VSC and it is bittersweet - I would have preferred to hand deliver my I-129F peition and personally 'help' them adjudicate it. For your sake, welcome back to USCIS! I hope the end of the ROC process is right around the corner for you.
It's the government.. the change in processing times is understandable, it will continue to flip flop back and forth between the centers. I just wish I caught VSC at a better time!
-
And for VSC... this means we are a part of 1,497 WAITING? Good god if that's the case then there's sooooo much more than I ever dreamed of, who apply for this type of visa.
Unfortunately, it is worse than that. VSC has 582 I-129F petitions "awaiting customer action" - I believe this indicates awaiting RFE response. And there are an additional 13,935 petitions pending which do not fall into the completed or awaiting action categories (received petitions are heaped into the pending number). So we are actually waiting with the 13,935

Toggle with the trend chart - data is provided for the previous year and you may also download it if you enjoy numbers and stats.
The March petitions we've seen approved are from the batch of around 14K - if it were only about 1500 people ahead of us that'd be much more encouraging. I've done the math in the past and VJ represents less than most think, it is about 0.4% rather than 2-3%.
For February filers at VSC VJ indicates ~60 filers for the entire month. Through USCIS I have identified more than 60 case numbers which were received on the same day as mine, I couldn't fathom how many for the whole month. I am sure there are more, I just got tired of plugging in numbers. It really is near mind boggling.
-
No idea.. but VSC is the sole processor of several petitions, such as VAWA, I-914 and I-918 (as opposed to petitions being split amongst CA, TX, NB).
CSC received 2,649 1-129F petitions in March, completed 2,546 while VSC received 2,639 petitions and completed 1,142. Both centers deal with bottleneck but CSC has the better numbers. VSC has received substantially more petitions than it has completed for 6 consecutive months whereas CSC has been close to breaking even if not completing more than received for 4 months.
Bottom line: sucks to be sent to VSC..

Hi Cean, we are still waiting on our NOA2 as well.. It is bittersweet to see all the recent approvals out of CSC - congrats to you all! I just wish I was there too hehe.
My fiance threw me for a scare recently. He was planning a trip with some friends and telling me about guilty by association, so if the police decided to stop their caravan and search them if any of the many guys had any illegal paraphernalia or drugs or anything he'd be arrested too. I was kinda panicky, I wanted him to go and have fun as he has done several times in the past and they've never had any issues.. but I knew and arrest would kill our K-1 process. He told me "well if I get arrested.. it's almost impossible to get a US visa with an arrest in this country.." He must have seen the panic in my face and told me that he can pick up his police clearance on Monday so pretty much, screw you Trini police.
So, yes, we have pretty much everything ready. I-134 and supporting documents I haven't sent as the current form expires at the end of this month.. so I'll wait on that so I don't have to do things twice. Otherwise, we are ready and waiting. We did try to see if we could get the medical in advance to speed things up once we get the NOA2, but they won't allow it without an "appointment letter."
jingo.. sorry I do not know about in London, but hopefully someone else can inform you as it's a popular country unlike mine. If not, it won't hurt calling and trying.
-
System error... darn, that stinks. Sorry to hear you have to deal with this, and I hope they fix it quickly so others aren't teased in the same manner.
May your real approval come quickly in spite of this hiccup - all the best.

We are in the minority! Met in the States in 2007 2006 during our college days, though different universities.
The mister is 25.
The misses will be 24 thanks to a birthday right around the corner.
I129F-Request for Evidence

Is blue ink really taboo for the I-129F petition? I don't remember reading this, and I don't remember what colored I used - and of course the photo copies show up black.
