  1. Hello,

My AOS packet arrived at Chicago lockbox Oct 7th at 6am. I have not had any NOA from Chicago, which concerned me. I called USCIS twice and was told that it could take up to 30 days to process. MY cashier's check has not been cashed and my case has not been entered into the system. I'm concerned, but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it at this point.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

check has not been cashed, obviously your case is not attended by USCIS yet. Give it a week and if no news, call them again. I hope for a speedy process on your AOS

  2. i just sent my AOS application today and have not sought consult with any civil surgeon as my medical exam result done last july 2011 is still valid. check yours, we might be in the same boat. it will save you time and money...

While a new medical is not required for a K1 (when you filed your I-485/AOS with in a year from your medical exam date), you still must show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025)was not properly completed and included as part of the original, overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designation Civil Surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit PART 1 information about you PART 2 the vaccination chart and PART 5 the Civil Surgeon's Certification of form I-693.

  3. We found a civil surgeon who would complete the I-693 for $110.00. He said we needed a TB. test and blood tests to complete part 2 of the I-693 since the DS-3025 only shows proof of vaccinations. Even though our DS-3025 was checked incomplete he said all required vaccinations were given so part 5 is no problem. Any comments on this???[/size]

Same here, CS told me that all vaccines were met but I need to undergo TB test and blood test to complete the I-693. I think this is pretty normal esp to those who came from Philippines since our DS-3025 doesn't state wether we done such test or not.

  4. Day in, day out, just couldn't shut my mouth

This thing called NOA2, it's what I'm all about

I was pretty ecstatic when we got our NOA1

But waiting for NOA2 sucked out all the fun

Everyday, I login to check the processing charts

It's gotten too slow man, it's breaking my heart

My fiance and I filed our application last July

NOA2 aint here yet and I'm wondering why

Think it's pathetic for me to even write this song?

Sorry dude, I'm just in love and I can't wait for too long!

So come on CSC, stop keeping me waiting'!

Speed up and I promise you, I won't be hatin'.

NOA2, WE'RE READY FOR YOU!

Cool! Keep the faith. I hope your NOA2 will arrive anytime soon, likwise to others who have been waiting also

Looking forward to Hear your NOA2 song :D:dance:

  5. The trip to the embassy was a real disaster. Apparently, there is another person that applied for a K1 (a year ago they said) that has the same last name as my girl and they say they used the same picture. This IS IMPOSSIBLE -- my girl's pictures were taken a month or so ago. The other person has children, so now they want my fiance' to go back to SLEC and get a exam to prove she has never given birth! They say this will help prove she isn't that person. They also seemed to hassle her about the length of our relationship and gave my girl a real hard time.

In addition, she has to re-interview and bring ALL her school records to prove she is not the other person. After that it will be reviewed for 2-3 weeks.

Has anyone heard of such treatment? Will the SLEC test be good enough, or will whey thinks up another reason. Could this be someone's way of having her prove she really is serious?

    Please Pray for us,

    Jim

This is rarely to happen, in fact i never heard someone who went throuch such treatment. Apparently, your fiancee doesn't have other options but to comply as to what the Embassy has told her. Good luck to the second interview and I hope it will be swift and smooth one :)

  6. OP its not advisable to book ticket before your fiancee has her visa on hand. I understand your concerned and excitement but there are things to be considered before doing a move. I supposed she must be a shy type of person. Thus, she feel uncomfortable travelling alone. Now is the opportunity and a good time for her to get out from the shell. Maybe she can rent a computer at internet cafe nearby to her place and start reading VJ thread about St. Lukes and USEm Manila experiences. Let her do extra research about travelling to Manila. You may arrange a hotel that is closed to St. Lukes and Us Embassy and during her Medical she can make friends with other applicants and who knows she'll know someone who has the same interview date as hers. In this way it will benefit both - your current financial situation and for her to conquer her fears going to crowded city

    Goodluck to both of you!

  7. Sorry to hear this Paul, just like other posters said, I agree with your decision. Living here with tight budget is prone to unhappy married life. I hope Haidee will fully understand why you chose this way for now. Goodluck to both of you!

    Hello VJers!:)

We are having AOS interview tomorrow in San Diego, and we are wondering what kind of questions they may ask, and what to expect in general.

    I have found this page with some sample questions;

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/exampleq

    and AOS interview tips on this thread;

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/154623-aos-interview-tips-for-those-with-upcoming-interviews/

Is there any other things we should know prior to the interview?

Any advise and thoughts are very appreciated!

One thing I remember from my K-1 visa interview in Japan is that when they asked when we met in person for the first time, since it is over 5 years ago, I said, "um, 2005 or 2006" and the officer said "which one? you need to pick one." with a suspicious face expression.

I honestly didn't remember the exact day or time. I can't even remember what we ate for lunch two days ago. (haha!)

Well, my husband and I think that we should just show up there and be ourselves. There's nothing to hide, if we don't know / can't remember, that's us. We are kind of punk rock about that, but it's great to know what you all think and what you suggest us do so that we can at least prepare...

    Thanks everybody!

    Goodluck!
