  1. I just had my interview on nov. 23 and got approve...now i got my visa this morning  . I called my fiance right away. Were so happy and now ready to buy a plane ticket... Such a wonderful feeling that were gonna be together now and never be separated again. Its hard to have a long distance relationship but we make it through. All the waiting is all worthy. The process of k1 visa makes our relationship more stronger. Because it will took a lot of patience and understanding. Its so amazing that there is a billion people in the world and a thousand miles apart but I found him and he found me that's destiny were soo meant to be.. I wanna shout to the whole world how much I love him.. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH SWEEETIEE... (L) I really do... and i miss you soo bad

Im sooo excited to meet his family and plan our wedding.... Thanks visa journey people... good luck to those who are just in the process its all worthy..

this is the very first time i ever right to visajourney cause it was always him before lol

  2. Good for you!. but let's not start over-stressing the suggestions. I'm sure you were checking VJ and USCIS website often when you were waiting.. its easier for you to say now.. lol

To be honest, I only check about 5 to 7 times on USCIS and then on VisaJourney at the begining of the process. But I have read many topics about other VJ members checking all of the time and then other VJ memebers telling them that they shouldn't check so much because it is not always updated on USCIS. So I took their advice and never checked since then. Also even after we received the NOA2 until this day I have not checked to see what the case status update is. It will just drive you mad and will not speed anything up anyways. Besides when you get the NOA2 in the mail it's a nice surprise. I never did receive an approval text from them.

  3. And I want to thank everyone here on Visajourney for your help and support through this difficult process. If I didn't find this website I may have wasted thousands of dollars on a lawyer that would have been unneccessary. There was tons of information and questions I had and all of my answered fully and correctly thanks to the help of everyone here on VJ. Which is also the reason why we did not get any RFE's and that our petition was perfect. Also the guides were a big help and the consulate reviews helped prepare my Fiance on what would be needed and asked in the interview. So once again, THANK YOU EVERYONE HERE ON VISAJOURNEY FOR YOUR HELP. It is appreciated that you took your time to help us. Keep up the good work.

  4. It seems that your visa took a long time (8 months) to be approved. Does anyone know if this is standard? Maybe the NVC in the Philipines took a long time compared to other embassies.

We probably could have gotten it done within 5 1/2 to 6 months, but we decided to take a little extra time to get everything in order to make sure that there were no issues. Besides I was recently visiting my Fiance in the Philippines for about a month. We can deal with being apart for now, but it's hard. In the end we know that we will be together forever once the process was done. We've learned to adjust to being apart and now we need to learn to adjust to being back together again. Oh and also I think my fiance Cherry is going to be in shock when it gets really cold and she sees all of the snow we get here in MA. She may stay inside all winter. lol.

  5. Well on Wednesday November 23, 2011, My Fiance was approved for the K-1 Fiance Visa. Thanks to God. She said that the interview was quick and easy. She arrived at the Embassy at 5:30am and left by 10am. They asked her basic questions like, Name of Petitioner, How and when did you meet, when did your fiance visit you last, what is his job, and why are you getting married? And that was it. She brought all types of relationship evidence and all they looked at was a couple of pictures. But it is advised to always bring as much evidence as you can just in case. Also I think that they look at your case in advance and that the Pre-screener makes the decision and the Consulate Officer just confirms or double checks it. Right when my Fiance went to the CO's window for the main interview the Pink Approval Slip was already stapled to her file. Make sure you do good on the first interviewer and of course then the CO. I originally sent in a perfect petition with all of the required things and relationship evidence, plus a little extra. No RFE's. But I tried to only add strong evidence with secondary evidence to back up the main evidence. We are both so happy that we have finally made it through the most important part of getting the K-1 Visa Approved. Next important steps are to book the flight once she has the visa in hand, get married within 90 days of her arrival to the US and the Adjustment of status I-485.

My advice to those who are still waiting is try to be patient, don't obsess by checking online every day/week for NOA2 approval, Reasearch, reasearch and then when you think you've done enough research then do a little more and make sure that you quadruple check everything before you send in the original petition. Then sit back and wait. And if you don't have a job, well go out and get one so you don't sit at home all day impatiently waiting for the NOA2. Staying busy will make the time fly by.

I want to wish those who are waiting and those who are completed the best and that you are able to be with your Significant Other's together forever so that all of your dreams will come true. Stay strong because that's all you can really do. Thanks and Take Care.

  6. Hello Everyone. How are you doing? My Fiance has her interview in Manila on November 23, 2011 and she has already received her appointment letter. The problem is that on the NOA2 it states that it is Valid from 7/06/2011 to 11/06/2011, meaning that it will Expire on Novermber 6, 2011. I was wondering if there is anything that I need to do to make sure that it doesn't expire or does the Embassy extend it automatically when they sent the appointment confirmation letter? Thanks for your help.

  7. I have contacted HR directly and they told me I had to go through www.theworknumber.com. So all i have is a code number to give the consulate so they can look up my verification online. O.o Does anyone have experience with this?? I'm not sure if they will accept this as proper proof of employment. I also have the past 2 years tax transcripts and the past 3 months pay stubs.

    Thanks!

    Molly

My work did the same exact thing and told me to go to the same Website. I sent an email to human resources stating they cannot give me a letter. They suck. But anyways I printed that email and I printed the employement report off that website. I also told my Fiance that if the Embassy has any question to contact the HR representative who's name and phone number is on the email. Human Resources are a bunch of robots and are completely useless at my company. I remember the days they actually helped people. I also am going to send 3 years of Tax Returns, old and most recent pay stubs. Good Luck.

  8. I think it is enough to provide the marriage certificate. But certainly bring photos if you can. My wife and I are not the type to take photos of us so we only have about six! But I'm not worried. We are legally married. Unless there's another reason for a yellow or red flag, it is not the same as having to prove a relationship like a fiance visa. I have also read on this site that other couples only provided their marriage certificate and they got their visa. But bring "more evidence" if it will make you feel better. You never know, right?

This can lead to disaster and a Denial. Just because you have a real marriage doesn't mean that the Consulate will believe it. The burden of proof is on you. Please be careful with posting this type of advice because this misinformation can ruin someones chances of getting their Visa to be with their wife/husband. That would be devastating.

  9. Hello. How are you doing? You should have your wife come on to this website to gather information and ask questions also. She will have to gather much of relationship evidence on her end and of course that you gather relationship evidence too. There's a lot of information here on Visajourney. You can also lookin the "GUIDES" Section at the top of this page under CR-1 Visa. I see you put yourself down as K-3 Visa, but that does not exist anymore. It would be CR-1 Visa. This is why you should have you wife come on here since she made the original petition. Also it will be good for you both to know what steps you need to do next in your immigration process. Good Luck.

  10. Hello Everyone. How's it going? My Fiance is going to have her interview on November 23rd. We are happy that we will finally be together forever. She went to have her CENOMAR document processed the other day and she told them, unknowingly, that it was for Marriage Purposes. Will this be a problem for when she goes to her interview? I have heard before that people usually get it marked for Immigration Purposes. I would appreciate if those who have gone through the interview process already respond so that there is no speculation. And thanks to everyone here on VJ who has helped us along thoughout the K-1 Visa process. We could have not done it without you. I'm so glad that we didn't waste our money on an attorney.

  11. It is amazing what a little research through this site can yield. This subject has been asked a thousand times over. Here is a thread

I found discussing what to do after NOA2 specific to the Philippines.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/319150-noa2-approval-notice/

Good luck on the rest of your journey!

Thanks for your response and link. That really helps me out. Your right I probably should have just done a search through the forums which I will do instead of creating a thread. Thanks again.

  12. Yeeeeeeeaaaah. Well We received our NOA2 in 120 days. We are very happy for that. I'll be going to be with my Fiance next month for an entire month. I'm hoping maybe we can go to the medical and the interview together.I was wondering what do I do next. How and when should I contact NVC? Do I ask them for a case number or something. And when my Fiance's case is forwarded to the Embassy, what info do I need to schedule an interview appointment? I know the majority of the process and the requirements, but these questions that I have are the missing links that I need to know. So if anyone could just give me some advice it would be much appreciated.

And to all of those who have not received your NOA2's yet or those who are stuck in hard times with the whole process, may you see all the way through to the end of the tunnel so that you and your loved ones are together forever. God Bless.

  13. Seems like a lot of money to me. How much money have you already sent her? A good Filipina will not ask for money especially that much money. Check out the wesite www.dragonladies.org to see what types of romance scams are committed so that you can avoid them in the future. There really are so many really nice Filipinas out there, but you just have watch out for the scammers that exist online. You will really find a true gem of a lady if you know what to look for. In my opinion, something doesn't seem right at all with the current woman your with. Already asking you for thousands of dollars even before you meet her. Classic Scam. Move on, but don't stop looking for the real deal. Good luck. I know it might be devastating to hear all of these things and to be told what this girl is really about, but we have no motives just only to inform you of known facts.

  14. There's really no way around it, you really need to go the Philippines. Of course to fullfil the K1 requirement and the requirement of Love/Life of really getting to know the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. You need to make sure that she is the real deal. I know the economy is tough, but don't make it an excuse to not be able to get to the Philippines. Whatever your doing for a living may not work well in this economy, You need to adapt to the way things are changing here in the US. Maybe your tied down by your bills. Find a way to cut out and get rid of some of those bills by making sacrafices with some of the accessories you don't need in life. If you really want to make your fantasy become a reality, then do what you have to do to get the job done. When I go to visit my fiance in the Philippines it costs me about 5,000 to 6,000 dollars for an entire month. And that's living really good there for the month. I usually leave with at least 1,000 in my pocket. Everything is fairly cheap there. And if you go there for a week or two you really wouldn't need that much money.

Immigration is a long drawn out and difficult process. Don't waist your time trying to get a tourist visa. Just go to the Philippines then when you come back fill out the K-1 petition. It's best to not try beat around the bush with immigration because it will bite you in the a$$. Read up and study the process in great detail and make sure that you and your fiance meet all of the requirements. Also figure out all of the monetary costs associated with the process. Good Lucj to you and your Fiance. I hope things work out. Take care.

  15. I think that if you made a bit of time to study JR's posts these past few months, you'd understand that most of what he says is nonsensical - do please disregard what he says, something amiss (IMO).

I was reading this thread and I thought to myself, I wonder when jrmejia is going to make a ridiculous post about forgiving this guy. And then sure enough, jrmejia made that post. It's like aritual to him even when the person is surely scamming the other. I think he just posts for attention and hijack's the thread. But also I believe he may do this because he himself has a Scammer who he has said many things about here on VJ. By making these types of posts to forgive, somehow justifies the way he forgives his own Scammer. Anyone who has been on VisaJourney for awhile knows his patterns.

  16. The next time she asks you for money, don't tell her that your not rich. But tell her that you don't have any money at all and that you may loose your house. See what she does then. I'm sure you will finally see her true colors. If she really loves you she will stay by your side, richer or poorer. I predict that she will definately not stay with you. This will be a good test. I predict that she will leave you. By what you say here, I don't see any relationship bases on love. It's all about money, greed and all about her. She will use you until you can't give anymore. Girl's like her will come up with every excuse to drain you while at the same time they have a boyfirend in Phil that your supporting. Many guys have gone through what your going through. Check out this scammer website. http://www.dragonladies.org

You can definately find a Good Filipina and you will know when you do because she will be the total opposite of the girl you have now. Learn your expensive lesson and move on to greener pastures. You deserve so much better; any good guy does.

  17. A Good Filipina would never ask for money like this or never do these types of things to you. She has alterior motives. If she goes to the US she will put you through the ringer. This is a sure sign of a Scammer. I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Cut your losses, contact the Embassy and USCIS to inform them. I know it's hard to just stop the relationship, but it's going to get drastically worse if you continue. There are many Good Filipinas out there, but she is definately not one of them.

  18. Did you call USCIS to see if they will give you more time to respond? I don't know if this is possible, but at least try. You really need to get your act together. I beleive that originally you only sent the petition and money order/check. Don't just send some evidence, sent everything all at once so that there are no problems with getting it approved. Definately get the DNA test done if possible. Have you called to figure out how that needs to be completed? Good luck. And pleas read and learn everything you need to know about this process. Make sure you understand it; if not ask the questions here, but study first. I hope that everything works out.

Everyone else, Is it possible for her to refile if she runs out of time or can't get it extended?

  19. Does it matter to you if you get married in Jamaica or the US? If not you should at least consider the K-1 Fiance Visa. Fill out form I-129F. Depending on the consulate it's a little faster. But also if you get denied, you still have other options, like getting married. If you get married on the first meeting/visit right away and get denied, you could have a lot of difficulty to get that over turned and basically your options to conteract their decision would be very limited.

I know that you are deep in love, but you should really not make any plans to marry on the first visit. What if you had a significant other here in the US that lived in another state? Would you get married without meeting/being together at least a few times before getting married.

Getting married on the first visit is a huge red flag. All the consulate thinks is that how can you really know and want to marry someone right away when you just met in person one time and that you got married right away. It appears to them that it's just a marriage for a green card and nothing else. Their job is to protect you as being a USC from being used. Please keep in mind, these are not my thoughts about you and your significant other. I'm just stating the possible perception the Consulate will have. Please don't be offended. Good luck. Please make sure you do lots of research here on VisaJourney about everything there has to do with the immigration process. Be as prepared and save a smuch evidence as possible. Good luck to you both.

  20. Hey

Just wondering if anyone knows of any nice, romantic cabins with hot tubs and so forth with nice peaceful views in North or South Carolina??????? looking at doing something special for my girl when i get over there but i do not know many places....

thanks in advance if anyone can suggest anything...

    cheers

    Try http://www.vacationrentals.com/

It's a website where people from all over the world rent their properties out. You may be able to find something there for a good price. And usually you don't pay in advance. I've used the website before and ended up rented two different homes in Mexico and one in the US. Good luck.
