  1. I just re read this topic and OMG!!!! Now, I am in a way better situation, I got my dream job  (French teacher in Houston, TX)I am still with the father of my first baby, who is now 4 almost 5, and we had 2 more after... I never heard from my ex-husband after my first baby was born when he served me with the divorce paper...But I got my green card with no problem. I went to the interview I was very pregnant of my second baby, the officer asked who was the father? husband or new relationship? I said new relationship and that was it, she said "you are approved" in February 2016. I just feel like I had to update you guys!!! bye

  2. Hello,

I divorced in August 2014, but we were separated since January 2013 because I discovered he had a baby with another woman... I came in September 2011 and the baby was born in Feb 2012. I accepted because of love but he kept messing with that other woman, so when I found out I left... They are no longer together because she is cheating on him (lol)

Anyways I moved on, got a great job... But now I need my 10 year green card and what I sent was not enough for the immigration service...

They want the tax returns we filed together I sent 2011 and I dont know where is the 2012 or how to get it...

We had car insurance together and I don't know how to get that either... that's all I can provide that is on the list of the RFE letter.

    Thank you

  3. A couple of suggestions:

1 - Have you considered an abortion, given that chances are you will not be able to provide to your baby properly under the conditions you outline if you are to remain in the US?

2 - Have you discussed with your boyfriend the possibility of moving with him to France where you might be able to have the baby and enough state assistance to keep it and provide for it?

You will be hard pressed to care for a child with such low income and no insurance so you might want to weigh your options. I wish you luck whatever your decision.

I thought about abortion but the CATHOLIC clinic I went, showed me a video and ummm no way... Plus my aunt had an abortion and she died from complications, so I don't feel like it...

I know my baby will miss alot but he/she won't miss love... and if it's too hard, well of course I will go back to France, the country with the most assistance ever. trust that! but my boyfriend don't want to leave louisiana so we will see...

And thank you Jihana for your message... me and my husband met in 08 everything was perfect until i moved in, so those who are coming to the US...be careful, people change once you live with them, but anyways dreamNhope you have the right to give your opinion and your blood can keep boiling too dude!!!

  4. I don't know about in your state, but in mine you cannot get divorced while pregnant. They want to pin fatherhood on someone, and the husband of a woman giving birth is always the assumed legal father, regardless of if he's the biologic father here. Hopefully your state doesn't have such stupid rules.

    I hope so too !!!

I went today for an ultrasound and they were really nice and helpful... they helped me apply for medicaid and WIC like you guys said and within 2 weeks I will be able to have it...My next step is too divorce asap.

  5. Thank you everybody for your answers....I know where to start now.

Baby daddy has a job, not better than husband, but he does work. He wants the baby because he thinks I am the most georgous woman he has ever seen and can't stop thinking how beautiful the baby will be and above all, be bilangual french-english with a real France french mom, not Louisiana french... well he loves my european exotism. His mom is happy too she wants to help me get medicaid and food stamps but she doesn't know about my mariage, i mean i didn't feel necessary to tell her, i was just looking for a place to sleep at night. He knows about it.

and yeah now i want to stay because i must admit i love my boyfriend more than my husband and if i go back to France there is some drama going on overseas too and I will miss him.

    Thanks again.

  6. I am not a licensed attorney in Lousiana and you should speak to an attorney. Under the law in most states if you are pregnant when you are married the baby is presumed to be the husbands. So unless there is a paternity test or the father claims its his, then the law normally presumes the baby is the husbands. I'm not an immigration attorney so could not speak to the status of your green card.

On a bit of personal advice, if the job you had before you left France is still there I would give serious thought to going back. it would be a better place for the baby. You have to do whats right for your child first and then you.

    Wow !!!!

Thank you for the aswer but no I lost the job in France so here or at home, it's a financial problem...

My parents are divorcing too and are about to sell the family house... So I will struggle to find a place.

  7. Hi everybody, I live in Louisiana.

Me and my soon to be ex husband have been separated since last April... We married in Nov 2011, our mariage didn't last a year because within a year we realized we were too different and more, we do love each other but we are not happy together.

I have my 2yr GC (expires in oct 2014), he wanted me to go back to France because I was unemployed at the time but within a month I found a job at Petsmart and I still work for the company. The income is low $8/h and I work 30hours a week compared to what I used to do in France ($22/h full time) but anyways when I left my husband I moved in with a lady she had a spare room for rent 150 a month on CL, which is great bc I was denied everywhere I applied to find a place.

Me and that lady's son got really intimate around June and now I am pregnant (birth control failed)... I don't know what to do ?? I thought about abortion but I am 28 and during a long time I thought I couldn't have a baby.

And now that I am, I'm so excited about it but scared... My husband didn't want kids or in our 40's (that's one of the reasons I left too)

My new boyfriend knows my situation and wants us to keep the baby but :

    - no health insurrance.

    - a retail job with low wage and around animals.

    - not yet divorce (last time I heard from my husband was in July, he changed his phone number and everything)

Now I just want to divorce and provide the best for my baby. I thought about going back to France but my boyfriend wants to be around.

    Help please!!!

  8. Why doesn't your husband like you to drive? Did you get your US drivers license?

Even if it is you are not that good of a driver, then he should spend the time to help you get better. Tons of back roads outside of Baton Rouge to train on.

Since he doesn't like you to drive and you don't have a car, even if you got a job, you can't get there.wacko.gif

Unfortunately, the economy is tough all over. In order to get a job, you have to get out there and put in applications. Yes, some are online, but when trying to find work, the best thing to do is go in person and just walk in to as many places as you can and inquire about job opportunities.

I have found over the years that even if a person doesn't have a job opening, they may have an idea or know someone that does. Especially if they see you are sincere and truly motivated. This will never happen online.

But to be able to do that, you and your husband are going to have to work the car issue out. Was he just planning on you continuing to stay home???

Good luck, I know you must be crazy at home all the time...

    Please update your timeline.good.gif

Well, I drive the car but I do not have my state license, that's why he is scared that the police catches me and all I can show is my French license but I'm a good driver...it's not easy to find online and yeah I'm losing my mind at home all day everyday :( and he starts saying that I don't help financially to pay bills but of course I can't help I got no money. Almost a year and we both are starting to get frustrated !!!

  9. I really need a job like right now... I don't know where to go, I don't have a car and my husband doesn't like to let me drive...so when he is at work all day, I am stuck at home. I tried to find a job online but no sucess, I'm ready to start at the bottom, I have no job experience, I got a master degree in education, I was an elementary teacher at home, I tried in teaching job but nothing :(

  10. Bonjour,

  11. hello yall !!

my interview is close and i realised that my co sponsor didnt send her 2010 1040form but a 2010 4868 form. she sent the 2008 &2009 and when i asked her she said she has not filed her 2010 taxes yet, which is why she sent copy of her Automatic Request for an Extension of Time to file 2010 taxes...tell me if this gonna be a problem with the embassy ???

My fiancé, who is in the army, sent all his tax transcipt but in 2010 he only made 13 450$ and this year he works only one weekend in the month so that's only 300$/month, so I asked him to find a co sponsor and his mother said yes but there is the problem below.

  12. Hello,

    Merci

  13. Oh yeah Bobby!!! That's a week from today, yes?! Looking forward to hearing about POE (where is hers at?)

    Mari

In 10days, I'm a bit stressed but no need to be stressed, they say it is an easy embassy, but I have been waiting for that day for so long !!! I will definitely post my review
