he once pooped on my wedding dress.
Oh my god! I would have been crying and laughing so hard at the same time...
Thanks once again to everyone for your tips and tricks! We have the same litter and food that the shelter uses so that shouldn't shock her too much! I've picked up my last minute stuff for kitty and am patiently waiting for hubby to get home from work to take us to the shelter!!! Only 45 mins to go!!! yay!!!

Bless you guys, thank you so much for the tips! I'll pop to wally world and pick up a squirt gun and some treats!!!
I've set up the room for her with plenty of toys, litter box, bed and food bowl. She has a scratching post with a platform next to the window, so she can watch the birdies and squirrels through it!
She will be the only cat in the house, aparantly she doesn't get on too well with the other cats in the shelter so she has to be put in a cage on her own. That suits us really because two cats would be a bit too much for us! I've never been to a shelter before and it was really emotional for me seeing all of those poor homeless kittys. I wish I could have taken all of the cats in the shelter home with me!!! (Hubby wouldn't be too happy!)
Now for us to decide on her name! We have a shortlist thanks to hubby: Kaia, Mia, Mika, and Maiya!
I'll definately post some pictures of her once she's settled in! I'm so excited
Thanks once again!
-
We found a beautiful kitten at the animal shelter at the weekend and we pick her up today! She's 5 months old and was abandoned because her owners thought she was ill and couldn't afford the medical bills.
She has her own play room with a baby gate, I was going to "release" her in there and let her get used to that room before we let her out to explore! And then return her back in there at night times so she doesn't destroy our apartment! We are totally stocked up on scratching posts, toys, food, litter etc. etc.
I haven't had a cat for about 7 years so I'm wondering if any of you have any good tips for introducing a kitten to our home and any general care tips that you may have!
I'm off to kitten proof the apartment now!

Ok admittedly I don't have anything better to do
.... I plan the meals for the week and then write the shopping list to match the meals... I then feed hubby up before we go shopping (he has eyes bigger than his belly!
) and then we do the list and don't deviate from it at all...Using coupons also helps! That way we don't over spend and buy rubbish that we don't really need!

We just got our NOA1 in the mail today. YAY! It was dated May 9, 2006.
One question tho'...I tried to check our case status on USCIS website but the receipt number and it came out saying:
Congratulations, I was in a similar situation last week! It took about 4/5 days for our case to come up on line. Do a daily check at the end of the day to see if your case number comes up!
Congratulations USMA! The OP was talking about NOA1's for their AOS, which begin with MSCXXXXXX.... Good luck with Nebraska, we went through there and it wasn't that bad!I just received my NOA1 in the mail today which was issued May 8, 2006. I was able to access my case through USCIS. My case begins with LIN. I'm guessing they haven't updated the system yet-check again on Monday. -
Have an amazing time, we were married there and we have totally left a piece of our hearts there. It's the most amazing and beautiful place on the planet!

-
Thats brilliant, congratulations
-
Just a quick update, I entered my case numbers in the USCIS website yesterday evening and it worked!!! I know it's hard but I guess you just have to be patient and wait a few days.
Good luck!
-
Mine did not have it on there, I'm early on in the AOS journey and I'm hoping it doesnt cause me any problems!
-
-
OK I've answered my own question by trawling back through some old posts. It appears I tick the allowed to work box. Lol so that's what I'm gonna do!
Good luck!
-
I'm having the same issue, our NOA1's were dated 05/03. I'm hoping that it's the same as the K1 visa and it takes a few days for the case number to come up on USCIS
-
I'm confused as to the proper category on line 16 of the I-765. It appears that C9 is the approrpiate designation. Is this correct?
Yes thats correct! Utilise the example forms on visajourney, they are a god send, trust me!!!!
Now if we can locate a Civil Surgeon somewhere nearby - there apparently isn't one in my community of 30,000 and the neatrest city is 120 miles from here...Good luck. I did hear of someone on this forum recently who couldn't find one nearby and then checked the USCIS website again and a new civil surgeon had set up in their town. You never know! If it is that far away, I would suggest getting proof of vaccination and getting all your top up vaccines at the local health centre; so that when you go hopefully you will only have to make 2 trips rather than 3 (drop it off, pick it up). Unless you get a good place that will actually send the form to you!!!

Oh one more thing
sorry!
I got this message when I inputted our case number into the USCIS website:
Validation Error(s)You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the service center where you submitted your application.
Is it too early to check (I know we won't have been approved or anything) i'd just like to register for updates?
Thanks!!!
-
woohooo
I know it's only the NOA 1 but still, it's one step closer
. We sent the pack off last Wednesday, it was received at Chicago on Friday, paperwork arrived today (Friday) with a notice date for this Wednesday!!! Thats only 3/4 days!!! Good luck to my fellow file-ers, may your NOA's fly out as quick as ours!!!
Just to double check, should the receipt numbers should be different for AOS, AP and EAD? (mine are!) I'm sure I read something on here recently about the numbers needing to be the same...
Anyway, thanks for listening!!!! I'm off to register with the USCIS website now, a new obsession hooray!!!
(it was the mail box for the past week!).

Hello,
My wife is about to apply for her employment authorization. I have two questions.
1) We are going to apply for the EAD this week and then her Adjustment of Status in two weeks (financial reasons). Is this a bad idea to apply at seperate dates?
2) On the I-765 question 10 asks "Alien Registration Number (A-number) or I-94 number (if any)." My wife has her I-94 stapled to her passport but a few numbers are on the paper. Is it the number hand written on the back starting with A.
Thanks.
Chris
1) Personally I am not sure about this, perhaps other members will have had experiences with this?
2) Yup its written on the I-94, it is also written on the bottom left of the actual visa beginning with "A"....
Good luck
-
For the affidavit of support, who should my employer address this letter to? Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I couldn't find it.
Ours said "To whom it may concern", I think should cover it to be honest!
Good luck with your AOS

Sorry I haven't replied sooner to thank you for the suggestions, our net went down yesterday and has only just been repaired! Typical! I will check out theknot.com!
We be gettin hitched and would be tickled pink if y'all could come. There be plenty of vittles and booze.lmao what a great idea!!! Don't think the in-laws would go for it tho
Thanks once again

Hi, my in-laws are arranging a wedding reception for my husband and I
. The paper has been selected which will be a waterfall scene as we were married next to a waterfall in Hawaii. We have been left the task to make a draft of what we want written on the invitations and we are stuck! It's gonna be an informal do in the afternoon with a bit of a Hawaiian theme.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can go about wording this? Or any examples of invitations that you have used for your receptions?
Thank you sooooo much for your help!!! You are helping us to keep reasonably sane!!!
Nicola&Matthew
-
Nicola, why in pencil? We wrote on the back our the photos in pen! Is that bad?
I'm sure it doesn't matter if its in pen or pencil, the instructions for filing the application on the uscis website state:
Using a pencil, lightly print yourAlien Registration Number (A#), or your name, if you donot have an A#, on the back of each photo. At the end of the day I guess they are trying to ensure that the face of the photo's do not get damaged. I really wouldn't worry too much!
Nicola
-
Congratulations, its awesome to see EAD's flying out quicker than they are expected to!
-
WHAT IS MY STATUS ON THE I-765, PART 15 - CURRENT IMMIGRATION STATUS, ONCE i'M MARRIED UNDER A K-1 VISA?
WHAT IS THE ELIGIBILITY CATEGORY I USE?
"K1-visa" is what you should put in there, check out the example form on VJ here.
Good luck!
-
Congrats, less stress is good!!!
