      Your petition has been transfered to a service center for processing, the Vermont Service Center (VSC). Once they have approved your petition you will recieve what is called an NOA 2, or the 2nd Notice of Action. This is all standard.

    Yang will arrive at the JFK POE on March 8. She has 6 hours until her next flight to my city. Choices were 3 hours or 6 hours between flights, so I figured the 6 hours was a safer option in the event of slow processing at customs or the POE.

      After you get through NVC (many months from now)and get your case number start a calling pattern with DOS. Like a few times a week. They can give you updates as fast as they happen at the consulate. It won't make anything move faster but you will be more well informed. Good Luck!
