Hi, My wife is from Costa Rica. We were both there for 5 weeks at the end of 2012 on vacation. She then went back from April-June this year. Do either/both of those count as having resided at another address since she became a permanent resident in Novermber 2011? Thanks!

My wife received her conditional green card in October 2011. We just spent 5 weeks with her family in Costa Rica and would like to go back for up to 3 months over the summer. Will this have any affect on the renewal of her green card in October? Are there any restrictions on how much time she can spend out of the US?

My wife came on a K-1 last year and now has permanent residence. My mother-in-law has an appt this morning for a tourist visa interview. Praying that she'll get it! Only God can make this happen. Our baby is due Oct 1 so hoping she'll be able to come!!

We received the NOA1 after about 10 days.
Our permanent resident card came yesterday! So amazing! Good luck everyone!

Today I got two emails:
1) On November 2, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.
2) On November 2, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.....During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.
I assume this means that the temporary green card is on its way and will be here within 30-60 days? This is conditional permanent residence, right? Valid for two years? And at the end of the two years we have an interview to extend the permanent residence? The emails are not all that clear.
Thanks!

We were married on June 25. Biometrics done yesterday, 9/1. Today we got a notice that our case was transferred to California! Good luck everyone!

We got a notice today that our case was transferred to California. Has this happened to anyone else lately? I know of one couple that was transferred and got their green card in just 3 months. How long has it taken others? Thanks!!

We had our biometrics appointment today. The appointment notice says to bring two things: the appointment notice and a photo ID. We brought the notice and my wife's passport. The first thing they asked for when we got there was our marriage certificate. They said without it, all the paperwork would be in my wife's maiden name. We had to come home and get the marriage cert and go back. Thankfully, they took us right away and we did not have to wait for another appointment. Just an hour wasted....

According to UPS the package is still lost. BUT, the check cleared yesterday and was stamped by US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY! Praise God!

We sent in our adjustment of status package last Thursday. It somehow disappeared! UPS is still investigating. UGH!

Hey Nov '10 Filers!
Any of you working on your AOS yet? We sent ours yesterday to be delivered today. Don't know what we would do without VisaJourney!! It was a huge help putting the package together!
Let the wait begin (again)! Good luck!

Hi,
I'm getting ready to submit my wife's AOS ppwk. I copied her passport but the photo came out a little dark but you can still make her out. Will that be acceptable? Or does the photo need to be completely light/clear/visible?
Thanks!

My fiancee entered the US yesterday! Praise the Lord for being with us every step of the way!

We had ours today and it was easy too! We were approved. We're going back to the US on June 18. Such a blessing!

We have our interview in less than 2 hours!!!

Interview June 7 at 2:15!

My fiancee is from Costa Rica. According to American Airlines, she could be denied entry to the US if she does not have a ticket for a return trip to Costa Rica.
Is this true? Do we need to buy her a round trip ticket when she is entering the US on a K-1 Visa?
Have you resided at any other address?

Thanks. But does "residing" there mean that it was her permanent address? She was there from April-June on vacation with our baby. I was there for the month of June with them.
