  1. Hi there Helen. Thank you so much! And also thank you for the link. That looks very interesting... I think I would qualify for assistance. How do you know about that charity and have you had personal experience of working with them?

    Hi,

I have not had any experience in dealing with them.

I came across the information through a link from the UK embassy in Boston and bookmarked it for future reference.

    All the best

  2. I was asked this question at my interview in London for K1. I hadn't considered how to tell my story and I was nervous. I just said 'we'd talked about it and early this year he just asked me'. The interviewer asked me if I had a ring and i showed it to him. It was all very friendly. If you get a K1 visa you will be getting married very shortly. They have to make sure you do plan to get married and reside in the US! I agree with above posts, just be honest.

    And good luck!

  3. Thanks!

I just read that I can get extra certified copies of my marriage certificate and send them to the appropriate places.

As a UK citizen you can also have a copy of that certificated 'deposited' in the national registry.

I plan to have my passport changed soon after my wedding (tomorrow) and I shall carry my certificate with my passport until then. Thanks for the advice!

    Helen
