  1. My fiancee recently had her physical exam at St Lukes. She arrived early and finished everything but her vaccinations the first day. At one point she was asked if her fiancee was here in the Philippines. She answered "yes". They then told her that since there was a possibility she could be pregnant they could not give her the MMR vaccination because it would be dangerous to a fetus. They then slid a paper across the desk and told her to sign it. She signed the paper without reading it partly because the Doctors arm was covering the paper.

    At the end of the first day she was given an appointment letter for 10:30am the following day to get her vaccinations. She was there at 10:30am and waited 2 hours until finally she asked about her vaccinations. She was told that she would not receive any vaccinations because she had signed a paper waiving them and opting to receive them in the US. She told them she did not KNOWINGLY waive anything and that she wanted the vaccinations there. The response was "sorry maám ". I will let those reading this form whatever conclusions they want from this. Regardless of whether this was intentional deception ( it happened to 3 girls while my finacee was sitting there) we need to know how to proceed from here. We have had the interview and the visa was approved. We are currently waiting for delivery. My basic question is... should we try to get vaccinations here in the Philippines ( cheaper here? ) and then bring the documentation to the US Civil Surgeon to transcribe? Which vaccinations should we get? My fiancee is 20 years old. We are leaving for the US as soon as we get the visa so not much time to get vaccinations here. Thanks !

    I guess your fiance can just get the vaccine in USA because the Nurses here was just worried that yes they cannot exclude the possibility that what if she's pregnant and they was just protecting her because If ever she will be given the MMR, It will have a very bad effect to the fetus , She will supposedly given MMR immunization and chickenpox vaccine if ever she doesn't acquired it yet and the DPT immunization like mine ,

  2. When your I-129F petition is approved by USCIS, then it gets transferred to the NVC to be assigned a case number before it is forwarded to the US Embassy where your fiance(e) will be interviewed and receive her visa.

    People call the NVC to find out if they have been assigned a case number and to find out if their file has been sent to the US Embassy.

    Depending on the procedures of US Embassy in the foreign fiance(e)'s home country, the petitioner or the beneficiary can plan on calling the Embassy to schedule an interview date without waiting for the Embassy to send them a letter (this is how Philippine applicants get a jump on the process...I understand though other countries have different processes, so this may not apply to you).

    Thank you much !! I appreciated the time you spent here just to rescue my mind ;) I am from Philippines so I guess that applies to my situation ? I can schedule for an interview ahead before I get personally the interview letter once nvc already forwarded my papers to USEM ,?

  3. K-1 visas, coming in to NVC from an I-129F petition,

    have 'little' interfacing with NVC, unlike the I-130 petition.

    READ THIS TOPIC --> http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

    Dodi's posted 'how to call' and further down (ya, read it, please), I've posted 'what you can get' and from 'which office' (NVC vs DoS)

    Good Luck ! (please read, ya?)

    Yay !! Thank you very much !! It's so helpful , Your a blessing in disguise for us , :D:thumbs:

  4. Ha yeah. We can't live near our fiances or our fellow VJers. Too far from everyone it seems.

    CSC is also human , yea therefore they are waking up , THEY CAN WAKE UP AND SLEEP ! AND THEREFORE THEY ALSO HAVE HEART AND MIND , I HOPE SOMETIME THEY WOULD TRY TO THINK HOW MUCH HURT WE ARE WHEN WE ARE APART FROM THE ONE WE LOVE .. IT HURTS ME WHEN ONE TIME SOMEONE APPROACH ME , TOLD ME THEY GOT THEIR NOA2 FOR ONLY 39 DAYS , BUT WHY OURS ARE TAKING SO LONG .. IF ONLY IT BEEN APPROVED A LIL EARLY I MIGHT BE ABLE TO JUST EVEN SEE MY FIANCE'S DAD BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY .. SO SAD.. SO SAD TO BE AWAY FROM MY FIANCE , I CANT JUST EVEN HUG HIM AND COMFORT HIM SPECIALLY RIGHT NOW , AND PREPARE HIS THINGS , I KNOW HE NEED ME SOMEONE WHO WILL COMFORT HIM RIGHT NOW AND TAKES CARE OF HIS NEEDS NOW THAT HE'S IN GRIEVING PROCESS .. I WISH I AM THERE.. SO SAD ..

    BUT I KNOW I COULDN'T BLAME IT ALL TO THE CSC , WHAT I AM JUST SAYING IS THAT I HOPE EVEN JUST FOR A LIL , THEY WOULD STILL PRIORITIZE OUR K1 AND CR1 VISA .. SO WHAT WE ARE JUST DOING NOW IS THE USUAL , TALKING TO HIM EVERYDAY TO MAKE HIM FEEL MY COMFORT AND SO HE CAN HAVE SOMEONE HE CAN GET STRENGTH FROM ..
