  1. Do you mean the letters/forms are signed and dated where signatures/dates are required, or that everything is signed and dated? I am almost ready to send my I-129F package myself, and I haven't seen any instructions everywhere saying to sign/date every single thing I include, so I'm curious.

Otherwise, looks pretty much like what I am including! (Which could, of course, mean that we are both wrong.) How are you including/labeling your photos?

Signature only where it is required.

(I'm the beneficiary, my fiance the US petitioner)

I mean all letters and forms. We have not signed copies of passport, certificate of Naturalization etc. I don't think you need to.

On the back of each picture we have written the date, place and the names of those in the picture.

I'm trying to figure out how to assemble the whole thing. Attach each photo with the corresponding boarding pass etc. Or collect them all in a clear zip lock bag or something else?

    Opinions?

Perhaps arrange your photos in a small photo album.

  2. May you share your experience with AT&T, T-mobile, Verizon, or any others regarding Plans, extra prices, network coverage, customer service,...etc.

As well, if I relocated from NY to any oil states such as Texas, California, Gulf of Mexico, North Dacota,...what will be the coverage of each one?

    Thanks

    Verizon has the best coverage.

AT&T has good coverage too but not as good as Verizon however they have rollover minutes. So if you don't use all your minutes in one month they will rollover into the next month.

    I don't know much about T-Mobile.

  3. Greetings,

I'm new to this website. I am from Grosse Pointe MI. my Fiancee is from Enugu Nigeria. I plan to have all my paper work ready to go in 1-2 weeks. I have many Q'S,I hope you can help.

Q#1. Do I need to include my fiancee's birth certificate in the evidence file?

Q#2. Will my Niegerian fiancee be able to use a Court Affividat of Birth instead of an Orginal birth certificate?

Q#3. Is there a choice of of what Embassy?. He wants to go to Abjua (closer) I thought he had to go to Lagos.

    1. Birth certificate is not required during the K1 application process only at your interview.

    2. As others have stated, go to the National Population Commission to get the long form of your birth certificate.

    3. Lagos is your only choice for processing K1 visas.

  4. Atop every VJ page are links for "Embassy Info" and "Reviews." Read every one for Bogota that you can, paying particular attention to the worst stories. Interviews are very embassy-specific, so only the stories and interview questions pertaining to Bogota will apply. There are also several Colombian threads in the lower forums. Start your reading, si man!

Yes, I found this to be very helpful when preparing for my husband's interview. Great idea.

  5. i will like to know if any one uses Airtel network, and i will like to know how they went about getting their call records.i went to print my call records today but they will not print it on an Airtel letter head but instead on a plain sheet of paper. Please advise me on what to do.Thank you

I didn't use Airtel, but what I did was email the company explaining that I needed history record for immigration purposes. They sent me an attachment in an email with the dates I request and was signed (electronically) by a representative. Worked for us!

  6. Hi guys! hope you all had a wonderful holidays! I just received a letter from USCIS and stating that they transferred my case I-485 at the California Service Center is this a good news or a bad news? for those who experienced this does your case processed faster when they transferred or no? I was just wondering how many more days, weeks or months you waited when transferred your case? Hope I'll get an answer from all of you guys and especially for those who experienced this. thanks much and god bless us all!

Most cases that are transferred to CSC bypass interview, that's good news! The process took us 3 months to process to the end.

  7. I filed the AOS paper work for my wife on 8/29/2011 with a transfer date to CSC on 9/16/2011.

Current USCIS website claims 4 months processing for I485. We've gotten the EAD in the normal processing window, but no letter for an interview.

How long does it take after EAD approval and no interview to get the Conditional Green Card?

Took us 2 months to for the EAD and 3 months for AOS. Some CSC filers don't get interviewed just their card in the mail like us.

  8. Hello all.

We have received EAD last week. My wife already has SS card which last name is in maiden name.

Now she would like to change her last name to married last name on SSN.

What documents are needed to make this change? Married certificate and EAD? is EAD needed to make name change? We are currently married and k1 visa has expired pending GC.

Only ONE form of ID (passport, EAD, greencard) and proof of name change (marriage certificate), it's that simple.

  9. Hi Everyone:

I am colleting all the documents for AOS..

But we are not sending the Travel and Employment Authorization application..because I am not planing on going to visit my family til maybe after September 2012.

I was wondering how long is the process if you apply being a k-1 visa holder??

If my case is in process for a long time and I want to travel.. can I apply to get a travel document even if I didn't send the form I-131 with all the AOS packet?

I have another question regarding to school and my driver license.. I got a driver license as soon as I got here, which now is expired, can I renew it with the letter they send after they get my AOS packet..and can i apply with the same letter to start school???

    Thanks

We did the same and didn't file the travel document. It took us 2 month to receive our EAD and 3 months for our AOS. Like everyone else says the fees are waived when filed with the AOS application. If you decide to file travel documents later you will have pay the fee.

  10. Our NOA2 was approved on Jan 3rd and sent to NVC. I went ahead and downloaded packet 3 (I believe that's the correct term for all of these papers). Do I feel our the paperwork as the benefiary? On form DS-156 question #22 it asks "When do you intend to arrive in the US?" Do I put a guesstimated date there? We don't even know when his interview date is yet. I leave for Nigeria on Jan 30th and want to have all of our paperwork ready to go when I get there. That way all that needs to be done is the medical exam and to get his police certificate and new passport sized photos. Here are a few other questions that I have:

    1. What do I list as my annual salary? (actual amount or estimated amount?) I work two jobs....one as a contract nurse (i'm on a current assignment for 20wks) and my other job is a PRN nurse at a local hospital. I currently try and work at least 4 shifts a month there but am only required to work 1 shift every 90 days.

    2. I have a letter of employment from the local hospital with my annual salary and hours worked listed on it, but it is dated Sept 7th, 2011. Will that be ok?

    3. I have pay stubs from my local hospital, but they are online to print, when printed, they are not on hospital letterhead, but the hospital url address is listed on the bottom of the print off. Is this sufficient?

    4. Will I need to file 2011 taxes before leaving the country to submit at our interview? Or will 2008-2010 tax transcripts be sufficient?

    5. Do I need to have bank statements? If so, how many?

    6. My income is over the 125% poverty line, do I need to list my home on the assests portion of the I-864? Can I just omit it since I am over the amount....I really don't want to deal with the extra paperwork if possible.

    7. I have copies of my divorce decrees and birth certificate as well as his....anything else we'll need besides what was sent in the I-129f packet?

    8. The NOA2 states it was sent to the consulate listed (none was listed but assume they meant what country was listed on the I-129F). Is this correct? Or was the packet actually sent to NVC then will be forwarded to Lagos?

    1. Actually salary is best.

    2. Current would be better.

    3. Printing them online with the web address is ok.

    4. Bring the tax forms that are filed. If you have not filed for 2011 that is ok.

    5. Yes, I did. I brought the 3 most latest bank statements.

    6. If you meet the minimum income requirements their is no need to list assets.

    7. Additional evidence of an ongoing relationship ie. emails, pics, phone records. Also, financial records.

    8. Yes, sent to NVC first then forwarded to the embassy.

    9. Bring everything to the interview.
