  1. Hello

couple of questions to your post.

    1. Should my fiance' be taking my last 3 years tax scripts to his interview in London? Or is this something I hold on to?

    2. Do you remember the site for the IRS scripts? I would like to apply for them now.

    3. What exactly do I need to retain from my employer? Active employment status, w-2's, etc?

Thanks for any help you can give... deb

  2. So long as you meet the income requirements, the bank letter is not necessary. I did not declare any assets on the I-134 nor the I-864 when my wife was filing for her green card. It would be best to submit tax transcripts, which are available for free from the IRS, for the three most recent years.

It would be best to have the letter from your employer be as recent as possible; I believe mine was about 2 to 3 months old at the time of the interview.

  3. A married applicant needs to prove that they are indeed married.

An unmarried applicant needs to prove that that are not married.

I think that you are mixing the two circumstances. As this is regarding a fiance(e) petition a previously married person must show that any prior marriage(s) have been legally terminated.

In my case I supplied 2 divorce decrees and zero marriage certificates to show that my 2 prior marriages were legally ended and I was free to marry.

Thank you for your response. I think we will just submit his divorce decree and go with that. I too could not figure out why they would want something so old. Thanks again and best of luck. Debbie

  4. Hello

My fiance' and I are looking for advise and understanding for the following statement on the U.S. Embassy of London website.

My fiance' is from Eastbourne, UK. and we are currently trying to get all the documentation that is needed for his interview packet.

On the website for the U.S. Embassy in London under Instruction for Immigrant Visa(K)Applicants applying for a visa in London.

Step Two: There is a link that states "Assemble all the documents required in support of your application".

We are confused with the Termination of Prior Marriage statement below.

Termination of Prior Marriages: Married applicants must obtain an original marriage certificate, or a certified copy, bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority.

Do we need the original Marriage certificate from a 1979 marriage that took place in Finland? My fiance' has been divorced since 1996. He has check with his Ex-wife and she doesn't have it. They have both tried to contact Finland to obtain documention but they have been unsuccessful.

Any advise on if the original Finnish Marriage Certificate is needed would be greatly appreciated and also if it is whom do we contact to apply for a certified copy?

thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Debbie

  5. Hello

My question has to do with obtaining an old marriage certificate from Finland. My fiance' is in the United Kingdom and under the direction of the packet 3 info online at the US Embassy in London, we are to assemble the following:

Termination of Prior Marriages: Married applicants must obtain an original marriage certificate, or a certified copy, bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority.

Can someone please explain if we are to try and locate the original marriage certificate from 20+ years ago? We have the original divorce decree but are confused if he needs to obtain the original marriage certificate. The previous marriage had taken place in Finland and we are unsure how or whom to contact regarding this. Has anyone else had to do this? Or are we reading into this wrong. Please help since this is the last document we are in need of prior to sending notification to the Embassy he is ready for his interview to be set up. Thanks for any help and suggestions.
