  1. Anyway, I have to push back the interview date and I was able to find the w2 forms so I'll make copies of them. It is ok to just send copies of them right? I have to push back the date because I didn't know I had a tax transcript for 2008. I was away at school but I had one so I have to order it. Anyway thanks Tim for answering my questions.

  2. Well I'm just curious because it does just say if the petitioner is self employed to send tax transcripts. I am sending one from 2007 because I didn't work in 08-09 because of school. I do have copies of my w2 in turbo tax. Don't know if that is good enough for the w2. But I don't think I have enough time to get the w2 from the IRS because I read that it takes about 60 days to get to me.

  3. Last year I'm not sure I think I made about 15k, I actually meant 2010 w2. I make 25k now though. But I was wondering because I know you are supposed to send current tax things but I didn't make any copies of my w2 for 2010. And my fiance interview is coming soon, so I don't think I will have enough time to get a copy of them and get it to her. I will be sending the tax return for 2010 but I read you needed to submit the w2 with it and I don't know if it meant the actual little form that the employers give you.

  4. Hey,

I was wondering what are the chances for the consulate to ask for a co-sponsor in the Philippines? I do make over 125% the poverty line, I have pay stubs and an employment letter to prove it. I only had my job for about 4-5 months. Does anyone have any thoughts or guesses about the consulate maybe asking for a co-sponsor? I know its up to them if they want to ask for one, but just to be safe, I wanted to know what the chances of them asking for one.

  5. Hi all,

I just wanted some opinions on this. I have a job over the required poverty line for my area, but I have only had it for 4-5 months. I will be sending in my tax return for 2010 but I don't know if it shows that I made over the poverty line. I will also be sending in my current job's pay stubs and employment letter. I graduated college at the very end of 2009 so I started working about 2 months into 2010. Would my tax return of 2010 cause any problems since it doesn't show that I made over the poverty line? I will be sending a co-sponsor packet just in case, though I know it depends on the case and it isn't always accepted, but I thought I would send it just in case.

  6. OK. So is it ok to send copies of my co-sponsors pay stubs instead of the original? I will send my original pay stubs since I believe they will care more about mine. But just want to see if its ok to just send copies. I do know they can ask for the original, but I want to know if anyone that has tried using a co-sponsor has gone through this and just sent copies of their co-sponsor pay stubs.

  7. OK thanks. I should have said what I am. Yes, I recently graduated college, well in December 2009, so I don't know if they will see that it has been long past already. My last transcript is from 2007 and it doesn't show me making much, but I was just working during the summer. Since I graduated, I have gotten a job that puts me above the poverty line for my area, though it won't show much on my most recent tax returns. I do have pay stubs and employment letters for my current work. But, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try a co-sponsor just in case they ask for one. So any advice? I am trying to get all the information because I will be sending all the documents to my fiance next week.

  8. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a co-sponsor in the K-1 visa interview in the Philippines? My questions have to do with the copies and original documents of the financial things. I have gotten things from my co-sponsor and will be sending my fiance originals of tax transcripts and employment letters for my co-sponsor. I was wondering if I have to send the original pay stubs for my co-sponsor as well? I don't know if my co-sponsor wants his pay stubs to be sent so I wanted to know if copies are ok. I know it says they can ask for originals, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this.

Also, if I have e-statements from my bank, would that still count as original documents or does it have to come in the mail?

  9. I was curious because well for my letters and things like that I had made a copy of it and was sending the original letter with it. But that is a good idea that if it gets lost I will have a back up. The only thing is it will be only a copy and not the actual and I don't know if the copy of the letter is ok for them. Any advice?

  10. Do you need 2 copies of everything that your taking to the interview or is the 2 copies just for the financial things? I know it says 2 copies for financial things in the I-134 instructions, but do you need 2 copies for everything else, like letters, emails, things like that?

Also, if anyone has asked or found answers to this, what do the CO consider a fake relationship? I don't have tons of pictures with my fiance so I was curious to see what they think a fake relationship is.

  11. Are co-sponsors allowed for K-1 visa's in the Philippines? I do make 125% of the poverty limit but I was just curious. I have been gathering things for me and a co-sponsor but if they are not going to be taken into consideration at the interview then I don't know if I will send them. I just want to be sure if it is accepted. I thought it could be used as insurance because it would show that my co-sponsor would help if needed. Any thoughts or experiences?

  12. Hey,

My fiance is filling out the forms, and she was wondering is it ok to estimate dates of starting college if she can't remember? She tried calling the embassy to see if they can advise her what to write but they don't. So is ok to estimate or would she need to know the exact date?

  13. Hey,

I was wondering if after a successful interview, would my fiance be able to pick up the visa instead of having it mailed to her? I'm assuming it would take longer to mail it to her so I was wondering if it were possible to pick it up the next day. I haven't had the interview yet but just wondering if it is possible and the things needed to be done so that my fiance can pick it up if she is able to pass the interview.
