  1. Hey,

Don't know if anyone has had a problem getting their marriage certificates, but I have a question. My state department of health says that they are backed up with work and processing the certificates will take 6+ weeks. That may put my wife out of status before I even get the certified copy of our marriage certificate. Is there anyone to call or ask for help on that like an immigration officer? The lady I talked to at the health department told me that they may try to rush the process of mine if I can get a letter from an immigration officer to send me a letter stating that they need it now. Any one in Hawaii that is dealing with this now or anyone had this type of problem before?

  2. Hey everyone,

Just recently got married and going to file the AOS soon. Wanted to get some quick answers before I send things away. For the fees that need to be paid, does it include the fees for the other optional forms like the I-765 or would you have to add the cost of that form in with the I-485 form fee?

Another question is do you need a co-sponsor when you file for aos if you meet the 125% poverty limit?

My last question is who fills out the G-325A? Both of us or just my wife who is the applicant?

Also, I don't know if any of you had a problem in getting a certified copy of the marriage certificate, but where I am, in Hawaii, they told me that they are backed up and it would take maybe 6+ weeks to get a certified copy and that is when its a rushed order. Any advice? I do have the little paper that the judge gave me that shows we were married.

  3. I will get a joint bank account and she will be covered under my medical insurance after we get married. I don't know about the car insurance because I don't pay for that. I will get a phone bill for her though so I will have that, and my parents were saying they could put a utility bill under my name as well. For wedding photos, is having a marriage in front of a judge the same, like with the photos. I mean we won't be dressed in the normal wedding attire but its still a marriage picture right?

What kind of things would they ask that we know about each other? Would it be like basic things, favorite color or things about the family her birthday things like that?

  4. Hey, I haven't gotten married yet but I was wondering based on my circumstances about the AOS. I know it says that you need joint things to prove that you are married and are doing things together. So here is my situation.

I live at home with my parents my fiance would live there as well, I don't pay rent or have bills, is that going to be a problem when I need to provide things with both our names on? As for the phone bill, could I get her a phone plan and just have our names on that account so that I don't have to give up the phone plan I'm on now?

    Any advice?

  5. So it showed your married name in the system how soon after your wedding? How did you get the special marriage certificate?? So basically She doesn't need the SSN right away in order to get married? So if the people that do the SSN know about the K visa really good then there should be no problem in getting the SSN under the new name? Just want to make sure because if I can marry her and then get the SSN after then I will do it that way because I'm just worried about getting the marriage certificate in time for the AOS.

  6. I have a question about the marriage certificate. Is it the piece of paper that is given after the wedding or is it something else that is given once it is recorded by the state? I don't know what building it is in because every state has a different building that they go to. But I was just curious because my friend got married and her certificate won't be given to her till 1-2 months later. I don't know if visa cases are a higher priority but I don't think I will have enough time to do the AOS if the certificate takes 1-2 months to get back to me after I marry my fiance. Any advice or experiences? I am doing all this in Hawaii so I don't know if there is anyone that experienced this in Hawaii. But any information on what to do is appreciated.

  7. Hey everyone,

I was wondering if my fiance would be able to see a doctor when she gets to the U.S. She has hyperthyroidism and I know she needs to see a doctor once in a while. I just want to be sure that she will be able to see one if something doesn't go well. I know once I marry her, that she will be able to be covered under my health insurance and it won't be a problem to see a doctor, but it will be just for the time that we aren't married. Anyone have any advice or experiences?

  8. Hey all,

Almost together with my fiance. All that stand left is the CFO class. I was just wondering if it was hard or very intense. Any advice on what goes on there and what my fiance could expect? I just hope its not that hard to get the sticker and stamp.

  9. Hey everyone,

I know my fiance has to take the seminar class before she is allowed to travel to the U.S. I was wondering how my fiance would get the guidance and counseling forms that are required for the seminar. Does she also need the immigrant data summary and is the CFO guidance and counseling certificate given after she takes the class??

  10. Hey all,

My fiance told me that she talked to someone recently who got approved with the K-1 visa. She told me that the girl was asked for w2 when she had the tax transcripts. That is what she heard, though she is not sure if it was tax return or the tax return transcripts. Is the tax return transcripts better to have then the tax return and w2? What is the CO looking for? And would they ask for w2 if you have the tax return transcripts?

  11. Yes I have the current documentation to prove that. I was curious because my tax return for 2010 shows that I made well below 125% of te poverty line. Others have said that if it shows that, then I need a co-sponsor because of my low tax return even though I make 125% now. Don't know if that is true.

  12. Hey all,

I was wondering would it be a problem if my co-sponsor doesn't want to send his w2 for the interview? I will be using him just in case they ask, but he doesn't want to send his w2. Would that be a problem? He has worked at his job for over 30 years, and has been paid the same amount for about the last idk how many years. I do have tax transcripts for 07-09 and his tax return for '10. Just want to know if it would be a problem if he doesn't send his w2.

  13. I have read all the posts and things about co-sponsors in the Philippine embassy. So my question would be should I even send co-sponsor items? I know its based on case by case, but I would like to know what everyone thinks about it. I have heard that most times they won't use co-sponsor, but just want to hear if I should even try or just do it on my own. My situation is that I make over 125% of the poverty line, though I have had my job for 4-5 months. Just want to know if sending co-sponsor things are good back up or shouldn't bother in sending it. Thanks
