  1. Hi datasheet, did you ask the embassy for an earlier date on the interview or are you letting it ride?

Yes, I asked embassy for earlier date but did not get co-operative response. I called them twice and talk to the same person, I think she is Pakistani-American and does not have control over anything, she told me that some officer has to look into my case and decide, when to decide, she does not know and told to call back after one week.

    Data Sheet

I just sent them an email request for an earlier date, lets see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

Good Luck. Once US embassy assigns the interview date, they usually don't change the interview dates. But you can def try. You may have to call them and request over the phone.

  2. Is it normal for ISL embassy to give out interview date after 3 months?

Or is it for K3 visas only?

I am expecting my wife's case to be transfered there early Aug, should I expect interview date for December?

K3 is usually 3 months. Our CR 1 was at embassy in August and interview was 6 months later for December. Hang in there everyone.

Is that true? I have seen post here who have Interview dates assigned 2 to 6 weeks after their case completes at ISL embassy.

Can someone else share their experience please. Thanks

Really? 2 to 6 weeks? May be K1 or probably K3, not CR1.

    HI DUDE Wala

how are you? what brings you back to VJ- good to see ya!!

    They denied your husband? why?

  3. Here is my Time line

2007-04-10 Sent to Islamabad Embassy per NVC (Phone Call)

2007-04-13 Received letter from NVC informing about the transfer to Islamabad

2007-04-19 Case Received at Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan

2007-04-23 Packet sent by US Embassy Islamabad to my wife

2007-04-25 Packet Received by my wife

    2007-05-29 Interview

    4 weeks for me

But you filed K3. Main purpose of K1 and K3 is to bypass the delay that CR1 folks have to go through.

    My 2 paisa's...

  5. Salam everyone... I just wanted to know if anyone is waiting for an interview date from Islamabad. Im a United states citizen and i filed a petition for my husband in DEC 2005.. his case was recieved by the Islamabad consulate jan 10,2007. My husband submitted his "packet 3.5" on feb 15... through the American express and they told him they would call him within 3 weeks.. and hello its almost 3 weeks and still nothing.. i called them and they said "The embassy is very busy and we MIGHT recieve a letter from them MID march"... I e-mailed the embassy and asked when we can expect an interview date..... they e-mailed me back and said "we recieved your packet 3.5, you can expect an interview in JUNE..."!!!! JUNE!!!!! I MEAN COME ON..... IS THIS NORMAL????????? IS IT NORMAL TO WAIT THIS LONG FOR AN IR1 INTERVIEW DATE???!!! ITS LIKE 4 MONTHSSSSSS.. and who knows maybe MORE!!???? ANYONE IF YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH THIS PLSSSS HELP MEEEEEE... I havnt seen my husband for 1 1/2 years.. we have a 11 month old daughter... she will will be ONE in march.. i thought he would be here by her birthday..!!! the embassy says ONCE U SUBMIT PACKET 3.5 WE WILL SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW DATE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WORKING BUSINESS DAYS!!!!! CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE... im about to go crazy...

    W/Salaam,

I sent packet 3.5 to US embassy Islamabad in November 13th and after that i was just calling and emailing them to ask my interview date, they were replying, less staff or busy these days i think due to Xmas and new year. I receive packet 4 18th January and the interview is on 26th April  . After that my wife sent email to embassy if it will possible to scheduled interview earlier but they replied it is not possible.

So be patience and wait and next step will be AP/AR, God knows how much time it will also take.

    Thanks

Most of Male between the age of 14 and 99 are going through AR process. AR means you'll get the visa, but we need to run your name/fingerprint/bckground check with the FBI in US to make sure you are not on US &hit List. This process could take anywhere from 1 month to 1 year. My brother was on it for almost 2 years. 1 year for US background check and 1 year for pakistan local investigation. And then my 1 cousin was on AR for 30 days. And my 1 cousin who came on Spouse visa didn't have to go through AR process at all. He was given visa on the same day of his first interview. So luck is also involved.

  8. We all know it was a shamful act and MAYBE it cost a worldcup to France.

the question is going to be: What the hell did Materazzi say or do? Was it about your mother?

In that case, I'll give Zidane a tip for next time. Tell a 'your mother is so fat joke'. It should work like a charm. Especially on an Italian. 'Cause, you know...

  10. I had the same question wether to teach my wife how to drive or not. My wife has never driven before so it was a tough task for me. First i thought i'll teach her how to drive, i started giving her some lessons on how to do general things, then i asked her to sit in the driving seat and drive. As soon she started driving, after 5 seconds i told her to pull over and come back to passenger seat. She started driving in the other lane with no control on the wheels. My friends told me the samething that DON'T DO IT!!!! its hard to teach and thinking that you won't get mad at them. So i quit....but then i called the Driving school they charge close to $50/hour, so i took a chance by teaching her. Its been 1 month and now she can drive in a residential area without going over 20mph. I will hire pro's to teach her how to drive on the streets and freeways but i don't think instructors will care so much about basic teachings. So i wanted to teach her that but honestly it is really tough. i get really mad sometimes especially when she makes the same mistakes 2-3 times in row. such as; forget to signal, forget to look over the shoulder etc.....

Anyways i recomend the school too....its tough to teach someone how to drive especially to one you are in love with....

  11. i posted a story on it..i was concerned it would slow the process down there..

:( I was thinking the same thing... processing visas is probably not at the top of their priority list right now and I can't blame them...

And this is why US embassy in Islamabad wanted to close it for a week. i don't know if they are still open or closed. Has anyone called them?

  12. Hey Everyone! HE's here and in the shower.. [longggg flight]

it felt like he was the last one to exit immigration, but he said there were still 3 others waiting.

All in all - un-eventful - took ONE HOUR after landing.. .but well worth it

I hope you feel better Shon!!

Congratulations on ur husband's safe arrival. May Allah bring a lot of happiness in your life. Ameen!

  13. Salam,

Just want to give everyone a good news.....

My brother picked up his passport with the visa from Amex yesterday. he called me last night, he felt much better after looking at the visa. He said this visa made me wait and kept me away from ym family for voer 12 years. :crying:

Now he will be looking for next week available flights to USA. everyone here on thiss ite thankyou very much, you guys were great help and insha'allah soon everyone will be united...just keep your faith in Allah. he will have his mercy on all muslims. And make sure you must remember Allah at all times, whether things turn out to be in ur favor or don't.

  14. Can you find out from you husband whether US embassy mentioned anything about not having visa stickers on them? I'll appreciate it

    dood.. just called him.

he was not told anything about the Embassy being out of stickers..

    Salam:

I guess they might be out of stickers later day, He wasn't told this by a Pakistani employee, he was told by an American who was interviewing him. I guess we can wait for a day or two.

US embassy is closed for 1 entire week due to George.W.Bush visit to pakistan. last working day for the embassy is Tuesday Feb 28th, 2006. They will reopen on following Monday, March 6th, 2006. This is because bush will be in town.

Amex in Lahore told my brother that if the Embassy send us your package beofre they shut down for a week we will call you otherwise you would have to wait for a week or so. So lets see what happens now. I have asked him to call the embassy and talk to the supervisor. He call a number that was given by the embassy but no one was answering it. Does anyone have a number that is active? i guess embassy has many numbers for immigration inquiries.

hmmm.... I was hoping we'd start off the week with some good news out of ISL... and given the above info, I guess we shouldn't be holding our breath for much this week...

I was bit surprised when my brother told me this, eventually Amex folks told my brother about this. i asked him to call the embassy to verify it. I don't believe anything Amex people says except your visa is here.

  16. ['laneysera':

Salam: congratulations to you and to your husband on his visa. My brother will be receiving his visa soon too. Hey just want to reconfirm it again, they told ur husband that they are out of visa stickers, right? and it took him around 4 days to receive his visa. Just want to make sure that we are all told the samething. let me know what exactly they said to him.

    salam

    hey dood.. thanks!

Nas did not mention anything about the sticker outage. after he was told that he was approved he asked the lady to give him the visa right then and there and she told him no. First she showed him the letter to where he had agreed to have his passport sent to karachi - he tried to convince her that since he was in ISL could she please just issue it there... then the lady said that the Embassy is not issuing visa's there anymore, that it had to be mailed. :( - so home he went...

When you mentioned that your brother was told they were out of Stickers .. I assumed that was why they were so insistent on mailing his..

he was approved 5:30 pm Tuesday, got the Visa in Karachi 10:30am Sat -

Can you find out from you husband whether US embassy mentioned anything about not having visa stickers on them? I'll appreciate it
