I've just rung to get an update as I sent my Packet 3 in by recorded delivery and attended my medical on the 10th May.

They have no record of my medical or Packet 3 yet but they did say that they are now quoting a 6 week lead time for them to be keyed into the system due to a backlog.

Guess its just more waiting

Nich-nick - The list I've written for myself states that I need to complete DS-156 and DS-157 twice, so I will double check that. It's good to know that I can keep the originals - I was getting a bit concerned that I would have to hand over my original birth certificate and not get it back. Also thanks for providing that complete list of documentation. I whittled the list down to what I require, so I think I've got everything based on what you've included in your reply. And..London doesn't require any evidence of engagement at all?

I've been through London. They will give you your birth certificate back.

Part 2 of DS-230 is not needed for London at all.

They don;t need evidence of engagement or don't ask for ongoing relationship evidence either.

!! see thats exactly why we're being held up completely. XD he got new shots, and we're waiting on his current dr to send him the new forms along with his mental state record.

we still have to send for the police record aswell. =/ so we got a good 2-3 weeks before even doing a medical WHEN the passport gets here.

Well it looks it will work out for the best!

It really sucks. I did not expect things to take this long with a simple renewal or even finding his medical records from when he's moved. :<

Thankfully, everything is ready to be sent out as soon as the missing documents get there...I just hope the medical/interview won't take much longer after we send in the rest of p3.

Like the others said, get new shots if it's difficult for your fiance to get his vaccination records and get him to book the Medical...I got lucky to get one 2 days after i called because of a cancellation otherwise I would have had to wait 3-4 weeks

Oh ######! He will need the passport for the medical...

They took almost 3 weeks to log mine...and I find it very strange they told you it could take up to 6 months...Even when London was extremely busy it didn't take that long!

Je m'appelle Alexandra et je suis de Guyane française, DOM...mon fiancé est américain, on s'est rencontré quand j'étais partie faire mes études en Louisiane en 2008 et on a gardé le contact donc maintenant on est dans le visa K1 journey, j'attends mon NOA2 avec IMPATIENCEEEEEE !!!! je suis une december filer donc j'espère que ça ne tardera pas !!!!!

Et moi je suis originaire de la Guadeloupe!

J'ai cru comprendre que VSC avait attaque les dossiers envoyes en Decembre et Janvier. Ca ne devrait plus tarder!

Et dernière question: Est-ce que le docteur Slattery ressemble au docteur mamour de greys anatomie?

Kinda late to join here (we've had our date for a while now), but my husband's interview is on May 31st at 9:30am (going for his medical on May 23rd). Hopefully he will get his passport back before June 9th, because that's when he's flying back out here!

Not late at all...It's a good reference for people with a similar timeline as yours!

Finally j'ai la date de mon entretien Après avoir envoyé hier un email et un fax à l'ambassade, j'ai reçu un coup de fil aujourd'hui pour m'annoncer que mon entretien aura lieu le 26 mai à 13h

Et je comprends maintenant pourquoi je n'ai pas reçu le courrier : ils l'ont expédié le 7 mai à mon ancienne adresse (celle que j'avais mise au départ dans le dossier) alors que j'avais spécifié la nouvelle adresse sur le DS2001 ! Enfin, avec la redirection du courrier je devrais le recevoir bientôt ce paquet 4. J'ai aussi pris rdv avec le docteur Slaterry.

Mais il me semble que tu n'as pas besoin de traduction si tu passe l'entretien en France. Ils acceptent le documents dans la langue du pays ou tu passes l'entretien...Mais il te sera necessaire de fournir les traductions pour L'AOS donc a toi de voir!

Bon mon rendez-vous était a 8h00. Je suis arrivée a 7h35 et ai déposé. au passage, mon téléphone a la pharmacie qui se fait un paquet de fric grâce a l'ambassade. Les objets électroniques ne sont pas autorises a l'ambassade et moyennant £3, ils peuvent le stocker en lieu sur. Est-ce que vous avez un équivalent a Paris?

Après avoir fait la queue et passe la sécurité, j'ai enfin franchi la porte de l'ambassade a 8h02 ou la réceptionniste m'a donne un numéro ( I-908). Les numéros en I étaient pour les immigrant visas et étaient rarement appelés vu que la majorité des rendez-vous était pour tous les autres types de visas (étudiant, touristes, etc...) et que seulement deux personnes s'en chargeaient.

J'ai passe en tout 3 heures a l'ambassade.

Lors de mon premier appel (1h30 après avoir franchi la porte), j'ai du donne les documents qu'on devait préparer pour ce grand moment: acte de naissance + traduction, casier judiciaire français + traduction, casier judiciaire anglais, les 2 photos et le formulaire i-134. Aucun documents faisant reference a l’état financier de mon chéri ne m'a été demande et il est étudiant a plein temps! il m'a demande quand je comptait partir aux Etats-Unis même si on vous dit de ne pas prévoir de départ avant avoir passe l'entretien.

Lors du second appel de mon numéro j'ai eu droit a l'entretien.

Les questions posées étaient bateau: ou s'est-on rencontre? quand? Que fait-il dans la vie? Qu'est-ce que je fait comme travail? Quand avons-nous prevu de ns marier

Et puis, il a prononce les mots magiques: "I have approved your visa"

Voila!!!

a lot of people are mentioning coloured slips at the interview, do they mean different things depending on the colour they gave you?

i really cant remember if mine was PINK or BLUE.

Please help?

I had my interview today and this is what I noticed:

- blue ones were for all non-immigrant visas

- pink ones were for immigrant visas.

Technically the K1 visa IS a non-immigrant visa but the process is the same as an immigrant visa.

I have filled all the forms and ready to send off to the US embassy. My police certificate has also arrived 'NO TRACE'. I called the knightsbridge doctors and the can not schedule me earlier than June 1st. I am panicking cos I have left this too long ( I had to travel to africa for family occassions). Our NOA2 expires June 17. Will this be a problem??? Cos the embassy might get the result of the medicals June 5/6 and can't schedule and interview till July whe the NOA2 is expired. Please can anyone offer an advice..

I believe the Embassy does take into that into account and your expired NOA2 is automatically extended...I suggest you do an advanced search on the site to double check that but I'm sure I read that before many times
