  1. I am in the same situation...

I think we have to wait 8-10 weeks

This is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any idea when my AOS might be approved based on my timeline?

As you can see I got an RFE after almost 3 months of not hearing anything about my case. I wasn't even showing on the system. Then after that they got my reply, they approved my EAD in just 12 days (Meaning they hurried it along based on whn I had filed the original documents.). My AOS was transferred to CSC on Jan 23rd. Might they hurry that along like they did with my EAD, or will I have to wait the full processing time starting from Jan 23rd.(i.e. another 3 or 4 months)?

I'm not in a huge hurry for my green card. I'm just glad I have my EAD.

    A bientôt

  3. haha thats good. But, i don't think using fedex has anything to do with it. In my email they stated

"Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797)"

They send everything through standard mail. I think how fast you get it depends on where you live. I live all the way in South Florida :( I still haven't gotten mine. So i have to keep waiting

    Where in South Florida?

    I'm in Miami

  4. When me and my fiance first looked into the K-1 VISA, we were like, YEAH 5-8 months we can do that...it's long a time, but we can do it. I never knew how hard it was going to be, I mean the 1st stage....the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG wait for the NOA2 was ok, I guess because we knew it was going to be long. After receiving that, for some reason I thought the process was going to be EASY.....hahahaha...HOW WRONG I WAS. I guess what I'm trying to say is that through every stage of this process, your heart jumps a beat, you become anxious, nervous, you don't want to miss a beat in the process by not sending in the right forms on time etc etc. I had my medical last week and sent my packet 3 forms in also...now I guess it's a wait...for the elusive appointment date..........

I have used this website since day 1, for information, support and personal experiences .I have immense RESPECT FOR EVERYONE GOING THIS JOURNEY/ADVENTURE.....IT TAKES GUTS, PATIENCE AND FAITH...........

I just wanted to put that out there in the VISA universe.........much love to you all.

MESV......waiting for packet 3 to be logged.

A HIGH FIVE AND A HUG TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS ONE :)

    How sweet!!!!!

  5. Dear Amar,

I advise you to follow the guides on VJ ...http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide

As for timing, it will depend on which visa center you will depend on and how busy they might be. There is an average time of 6 months before an adjucator can approve your petition.

Also have a look in the regional forum to see how the interview process goes in India

    Good luck on your journey!

  6. Congrats to you!!!

That's really bad that they lost your documents but it also great that they don't delay you because of that!

I guess somewhere else, it would be problematic. London is an easier embassy to deal with! blush.gif
