Fiancée just came in via Dulles airport. We are already through NOA2, with K1 in transit to embassy. She has a B1 valid through September of next year. USCIS was very friendly, just asked her if she had been here before. Asked if we met in the city she lives in currently. Cracked jokes with her. Etc. Very low stress and very easy.

My fiancée is a Viet national living in BKK, working for Agoda and she has a valid work permit and visa. Our K1 was just approved by USCIS, travelled through the NVC and the NVC packet is 'In Transit' to the BKK embassy.
We know that we need a police report and are trying to figure out the documents needed to get this going. I have seen it takes 5 weeks or more for this document to be generated (and you can't pay extra for expedited processing). The instructions are rather confusing and most of the advice seems to understandably be aimed at Thai nationals. The various sources seem to differ wildly or not apply at all to our situation. Is it possible to get the process started now? I have seen some reports saying you just need a copy of the NOA2 and her work related stuff to get the Police report. Other places say she can't even start on this process unless she has the first page of her Packet 3.Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Glad to see that I am not the only one having issues with the NVC:
Called the NVC service center this morning. Surprisingly got a live agent within 30seconds. She stated my case was sent out yesterday (12/12) to the embassy and gave me my NVC case number. To give you an idea of processing times: my NOA2 date was Nov. 9th. Checking my NVC status, it now states In Transit.

Forgot to indicate how we met each other online in my letter.
10/27/16 - RFE Sent on from CSC
11/1/16 - RFE Rcv'd by me in VA
11/1/16 - Mailed out the updated letter with extra details (including some stuff that she told me on the first day we talked). Send it overnight, just because I want this done.
11/2/16 - They rcv'd my updated letter
11/9/16 - Case was approved

Thanks everyone, confirming what I thought!

I have a question on how to fill out question 14 on the I-129F. My ex-wife was here on a student F visa finishing up her PhD when we were married. As a result, there was an adjustment of status but there was no K-visa process. Do I still answer yes here? The wording seems a bit confusing as it seems like it is directed at those who have filed more than one K1/3 process.

I will be bringing my fiance here on a K1 visa. The issue is, that we plan to bring her niece here in time (she is 9 now) for high school education and beyond. My fiance will be adopting her niece, I will not. This wrinkle is really confusing how we should go about bringing her niece here and WHEN she should adopt her niece.
- Should she adopt her niece before my filing of the K1 packet or should she do it after? Does it matter?
- We do not plan to bring the niece here for another couple of years and I don't plan on adopting her. So she shouldn't need to be involved with my fiance's K1 packet or would the niece need to be a part of it?
- Anything else we should keep in mind?
Thanks for your help.

I have my interview on the 10th of September. Anyone got any good advice?
I assume this is a marriage based adjustment (despite your likely student/work/tourist visa). My wife and I just finished our interview, here's what we took.
Forms:
Copy and originals (if we still had originals) of ALL forums and evidence we had submitted. I mean ALL, including copies of EVERY LAST piece of evidence we had submitted. Copy of tax returns, w-2's, my parents info for the I-864, copy and original of our marriage certificate.
Pictures:
Pictures of her with my family
Pictures of me with her family
A few pictures of both families together
Wedding pictures
Trip pictures
Random pictures
Copies of what we felt were evidence pictures on 8.5x11 printer paper (just laid out 2 to 3 pictures per page).
Copies of all biographical info:
My passport (brought original as well)
Her Passport
Copy of her medical information (even though it had been submitted and acknowledged we still took the copy that had been given to us by the doctor).
Evidence:
Copy of her life insurance policy listing myself and her parents as beneficiaries
Letter from her HR listing me as being on her insurance while I was unemployed.
Copy of our joint bank account statement printed from the web.
Letter from our bank noting we had a joint account, both were on the account at starting, current balance and average balance for the previous 6 months.

Sounds fine to me. It appears you are more or less approved, pending your husbands vaccine checklist. My wife and I had her interview 2 weeks ago and they didn't stamp her passport or anything, just told her she was approved and to expect the green card in 2-4 weeks.

Start documenting things now! This is classic abusive behavior, down to the apologizing and everything. If it is allowed in your state, start recording things. You need to document ALL of this, even if you never have to use it. As a man, it is assumed that YOU are the aggressor and you need to show a pattern of violence on her part in order to protect YOURSELF. Write notes in a protected file, store pictures in a protected folder that she can't find, etc.
