  1. Hi Everyone, so I am wondering what is next now. My fiance has entered the U.S. On the K-1 visa and we now live together. They havent been very helpfull with what happenes next with the process. Is it just wait till we are married and then do the adjustment of status part or is there something in between? I have heard that I can process for her social security number now but Im not sure. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

  2. Hello everyone, my fiance had her interview on the 1st of March and now they are saying that the visa is still being processed so there is no tracking details available yet. I was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes for them to get it in the mail to get sent to you. Many thanks for your time.

  3. Hey everyone. So after a long argument with the embassy phone line that costs 16 dollars everytime you call. Whatever, long story anyway we got an interview date for March 1st. So everything worked out good. My question now is about port of entry. I will fly to collect my fiance and upon returning we will be flying to Ohio to visit my parents before flying to California where I live. I was wondering when we get to Ohio what exactly do they do for port of entry and how long does it take and that sort of thing. Thanks again.

  4. Did your fiancee write a request for a quick interview date on the forms she is sending off today?

Ultimately, you won't know if they're going to honour your request until the day you receive the interview notice. If they've received your request that's pretty much all you can do.

Unfortunatly no she didnt which really is to bad, is there anything i can do other than email or call to make that sort of request.

  5. Two business days is quite common, however not certain enough to depend on. And a lot of the K1 visas recently seem to be taking 5-10 days. If you inform the Embassy of your travel needs then they should be able to make sure she has her interview in time.

Thank you, I have been emailing them after I paid the 16 dollars for the phone call which is a joke. They dont seem like all the much help though when I email them. Should I call them back do you think?

  6. Hello everyone. So my fiance has her medical on the 14th and she is sending all of her documents for packet 3 today. I am hoping to get her interview soreted very quickly do to the fact I am in the military and currently forward deployed and was made to take leave on March 21st and leave London on march 27th. I also had to buy plane tickets already as well. The Navy likes things sorted out well in advace. Anyways my question is how soon after the interivew did you recieve your visa in the mail. I see it says 5-7 days or so but what is really going on? Thank you as always.

  7. She needs nothing to get a K1 and leave the UK.

She will just get the shots, then pay a civil surgeon over there to complete an I-693 immunization section before you file for AOS. And hope you can find one who doesn't insist you need another entire exam for $200+ or wants to charge you $100 to copy down the shot list. People have found a CS who will do it for $30-$50, but others call and call trying to find one who will actually do it for a reasonable price. Getting it all recorded at Knightsbridge will save that expense and hassle and is the only reason we suggest getting all the shots in the UK before the visa exam.

I was afraid of that, I will try to sort it out.

  8. Hi all....

Does anyone know which vaccines are absolutly required to leave the UK. I am in the military and once my fiance gets here it will be easy to get her everyhting she needs once she is married. She went to her doctor to try to get some of them knocked out and they were very un helpful. they told her they couldnt get any of them and they wouldnt give any to her.

  9. I know this topic has been beaten to death. But I have a question or two regaurding the Medical exam. My fiance is freaking out a bit she is extremely worried about it thinking they are going to find something wrong with her like cancer or something. She is perfectly healthy but she is just scared. She thinks they are going to do a internal and external genitalia inspection and or a smear and find cancer or something. Does anyone know if any of this will actually happen. I have been told that it is pretty straight forward and ushually only lasts about 45 minutes or so. This would really calm her down alot if you could help. Thank you all for the help.

  10. Hello everyone recieved an email that my I-129F has been approved and now it will be sent to NVC. I am wondering when is the soonest I can call for our LND number, if thats the right abbreviation so I can have my fiance set up her medical and I can request and expedite from the london embassy. Thanks for all the help.

  11. Wow first I would like to thank both of you for the help. I cant tell you how much the information is helping me understand this process. Its amazing to me how much is involved to get someone through the process legally when there are so many people living illegaly in the U.S.

Im going to have Kim start her forms very soon, right now she is working on her police file thing. When she gets that completed im going to have her do the rest and hopefully we can get the interview date very soon. I think she feels a bit overwhelmed right now with all of it. Its a shame I cant be there to help her.

When I emailed USCIS I got a responce that an agent requested my files. Does this mean that its about to get approved? Or is this something just to get you to leave them alone?

Also we are certain that the K-1 doesnt stay very long at NVC? Some others seem to think it stays there a while even if its a K-1. Thank you so much for the help. Its greatly appreciated trust me.

  12. As soon as the NVS have your case - get the case number from them.

Give them applicant and beneficiary details, and email addresses.

    Place an expedite request.

THEN, straight away send the following:

ATTENTION PI SUPERVISOR SUE - Urgent Expedite Request - case number - applicant name / dob - beneficiary name / dob.

The above you put in the subject line in the email.

Then attach all supporting documents as pdf files to the email and a letter to explain why you are requesting an expedite.

    Send to : nvcinquiry@state.gov

The request will then be sent to the embassy to decide if it warrants that kind of processing.

    Good luck.

Thank you very much for all of the information. Im sorry to keep asking so many questions that are more than likely very basic. Only a few more and I will be on track. How will I know when NVC has the package? Do they send you an email or do you just call after you recieve your NOA2? Do I have to send them beneficiary details even if they will already have them because they will have the package? Thank you very much for all of the help, its very much appreicated.

  13. Ok great you all have been a big help. So bassicaly I need to contact NVC as soon as I get my NOA2 and try to get them to expedite the case that way I can get the number and get her to schedule her medical stuff. I have her getting the police forms together now as well. Is there anything else that I could have her get a head start on that would help?

  14. Great, Kims visa is a K-1 Fiance visa. I have learned she has to do her medical exams now first before she can gat an interview or so it seems. I wonder if I where to have her to call and set it up now is that a good idea? The case number we recieved on the NOA1 will it work or does it change with your next NOA2 or something?

    P.S. What is DCF?

  15. You can indeed expedite. Its up to the embassy at the end of the day, but if you call the rip off line, get a ciu number - and email them when your case arrives at the embassy, request an interview at their soonest possible convenience. Mine was sorted in a couple of weeks I believe.

This is good news, just a couple of questions if I may. What exactly is a CIU number? And do you call and get this number before your case even gets there? And does the embassy inform you when it does get there? I am guessing the rip off line is them one you have to pay to call correct? And the final one, the place where your case goes in between USCIS and the embassy, can that bit be expeditied as well? Thank you very much for the help.

  16. Hello everyone, I have been emailing USCIS back and forth for the last couple of days and I am hoping my NOA2 comes here within the next few days or so. My question is have you ever heard of anyone being able to expedite the interview wait. I am hearing the London Embassy wait is around two months. If I were to call and mention that I was in the military and that I am currently forward deployed do you think I could get my fiances case expedited? Thank you for your help :)
