It would be a good idea to mention the reason why you are not showing 2008 tax returns. Remember that not reporting income is a reason for removal. Just in case mention that in your cover letter, they might wonder how petitioner was able to support beneficiary during that period of unemployment. Make sure both of you sign the cover letter as well.
Copy of passport is not needed.
Cards, invitations are great. If you have emails sent to both of you, or emails from you to your partner, it would be a good idea to show some of those too. They don't have to be too personal.
What about copies of Car Insurance? If you are working, medical/ life beneficiaries letter. If you have 401k, also show who is beneficiary.
If you have taken any trips, show that too, like hotel reservations, airplane tickets, etc.
Showing bills with your name and his name helps.

Congratulations boilermaker. This gives hope to July applicants ( especially CSC ) that we will hear a similar news soon.
Just out of curiosity, what is your profile ? What kind of documentation did you submit. I am trying to understands variables that make some apps approved faster than the others. The variables I have come up ( and I could be well off ) with so far are
1. Country of origin
2. Joint property ownership
3. Kid/s
4. Status / Visa of applicant before Conditional GC
5. Age difference between couple
6. Duration of marriage
7. Financial mingling ( especially Tax info )
Some of the documentation that I presented include:
Copies of Federal Income Taxes
Copy of Joint Ownership
Copies of a few joint account bank statements (past two years)
Copy of a few bill statements with her/my name (not necessarily both) for past two years
Copy of house/apartment lease agreements
Copy of medical insurance showing both our names
Copy of life insurance showing beneficiary names
Copy of club membership
Copy of booked flight tickets / vacation / hotel reservations / boarding passes
Copy of some emails between other people and wife/me.
Copy of greeting cards / birthdays / Christmas cards sent by others to us showing address.
Photographs of trips, etc for past two years
No kids, age difference by one year. South American country of origin.

We got our biometrics letter over a week ago and the case number is still not recognized on the USCIS web site. We were hoping to get updates
by email but I guess we will have to wait for the snail mail for any correspondence from USCIS. Hopefully we all get approved quickly without any problems
It actually took 6 days for my ASC number to appear in the USCIS website from the day I received the appointment in the mail. And yes, NOA and ASC numbers are different.

If you fill out a I-94W and submit it at point of entry in the US means that you are renouncing to your I-485 (by default) because you would be claiming non-immigrant status. I would presume that if you register with ESTA might be the same. I believe you only need to show the AP document at entry.

Congratulation to first CSC approval. Looks like 17 days after your biometrics, or a week after your scheduled biometrics date. Hopefully we will start seeing more CSC next week following same pattern.

I think files get "touched" when they are moved even if it's years after approval. I figure each new form gets added to the previous forms and goes into one complete immigration file. That way they'd know everything about each of us and have everything from our first application to the last all in one place. That's my guess anyway.
I believe some files get touched when you submit Change of Address form. I noticed that in my AOS files (485 / 765 and 130)were were touched 4 and 20 months after approval. They coincide with my change of address (moved twice since then)

The Oath of Alliance is the final step to receive US Citizenship. Not taking the oath means that one can not be a US Citizen. Now, the US does not recognize double citizenship, meaning that for example, for some reason your birth country requires you to serve in their military, you can't, nor you can't run for office in a foreign country. However, the United States does not oblige you to renounce your other citizenship (meaning surrender your passport and other national identity documents from the other country at consulate or w/e). Taking the Oath of Alliance means that you have to serve the United States at any moment when required, even if it has to be against your birth country. Otherwise, what's the point of having US citizenship ?
So, in summary...Taking the Oath of Alliance is required. You do not have to surrender your country of birth passport once you acquired US Citizenship.

Moving might delay the application yes, but there is NO requirement for a letter from employer or W2 for an AOS interview. Where on earth did you get that information??? OP please ignore this.
I went through AOS two years ago and interview letter asked for those documents. My sister is going through AOS this year, actually has interview in two weeks and they have also asked for those copies. I would suggest you get your facts straight before judging other people's comments. Thank you

Seems to me that approval time at CSC have increased from roughly 30 days (March) after biometrics to 60 days (April)

Moving to another city (especially to another state) might delay your application because that means that if your application was already forwarded to the local office for your interview, that office might need to send the paperwork to the other local office. In terms of financial support. I think it is ok to change jobs as long as during the interview, the petitioner proves that he/she meets minimum income requirements. For AOS interview, the petitioner needs to show a letter from employer and/or copies of W-2, along with copies of income tax returns from last year.

You might be able to write USCIS asking to retire the Financial support paperwork if you explain the reasons. But seems like you might need to talk to an immigration lawyer, just to avoid getting in trouble later for filing a visa petition and not going through it.

Updating my EB date...Seems like 75% of us have received ASC Appointments. Will be exciting to see the first approved!

Ahh, Finally my ASC number appeared in the website. It took two weeks since letter issued date.

Can anyone help me?
I mailed my I751 on July 2 and got NOA after a week. 30 days later, havnt got my biometric letter so I called USCIS yesterday and found out that a biometric appointment has already been scheldule on August 20. (It's only 7 days away from now!!!) USCIS contacted me by email letting me know that a new letter will be sent out. Obviously the first biometric letter was lost somehow. So my question is what if the second biometric letter comes late, will I miss my biomeric appointment? Or Can I get biometric done without the letter? Please give me some suggestions. I really dont want to miss my appointment.
***The earlies Infopass appointment available at my area is Augus 26 which is way pass my schedule biometric appointment.***
Just wait for new appointment letter. If the appointment date on the new Biometric document (could be another new date or old data) has already passed, submit a request for another Bio appointment ( The Bio letter gives you that option - Read Instruction on ASC letter) and write a letter to CSC explaining what happened including the fact that you contacted Customer Service and that mail delivery was not your fault. Don't forget to include your A# and your NOA date on the letter.
I think for new Bio schedule you have to submit request to ASC Center. I would suggest when you submit that letter, you submit a copy of request to CSC just in case.

Hi to all! Just had my biometrics this 3:00 PM. I would like to ask you guys on how to update the status of my application. Is it going to the website of USCIS and to the Resources and from there I can update the status. I read some posts that they are receiving texts and emails. How's that? Anyone kind enough to answer my questions. Just want to know ahead of time and just out of curiosity, when is the possible time that there is what we call "touch" in the application. Sorry for my lack of knowledge of the process. Thanks in advance.

You need your NOA receipt number.
Actually, you don't update the status of your application... you can check what USCIS is doing with it. If there are new updates, you will receive a txt msg or an email. Depending what you select.

Wow, I got very lucky today...My biometrics were schedule for Aug/27 but thankfully I was able to walk-in today and get them done...Three weeks in advance. I'm glad they let me do them. They were very courteous.

Has anyone have had trouble adding biometric case number to USCIS website? for me it says that the number does not exist :S (I'm not using NOA letter number, which is different).

Well, I guess businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone within the extend of the law (like refusing service for not wearing sandals or shirts).
