I'm in NY too. There are people in the city who filed in December and are still in line for an interview ... I see a long wait ahead of us.

OMG that's way too long...Im from NY...filed last Jan and I guess Im one of those lucky ones who got bio and interview earlier. Hope they could fixed it soon. Wishing you luck....

My window for citizenship is now open anytime now. My question is: Do I really need to renew my Philippine passport that is expiring 2 months from now? Does my Phil passport needed for Citizenship application?

Would appreciate your help.

I applied for citizenship last January 2....my Philippine passport will expire on June 2014....I submitted a copy of my passport when I applied for citizenship to show the stamp when I visited Philippines last year for 2 weeks. I don't think they need your Philippine passport as main requirement for citizenship application. Im planning of renewing my Philippine passport still because I wish to keep my Philippine citizenship by applying dual citizenship after Im done with N-400 =)

pleas my question is.. would it be ok for me(a beneficiary) of an ir2 case to call nvc and ask for an update on my case??.. MORE INFO: we received 4 checklists and submitted all they asked for.. finally we submitted all documents since december 11 bt still no update on our case at nvc.... we actually started nvc processing in September 2013 and the checklist has brought us thus far.. pls pls and pls some one give me a reply for God's sak I beg.. I really need help.. thanx in advance

Better try calling the NVC for an update of your case...I guess that's the best thing you could do.

As long as your greencard is not expired when u return back to US, there would be no problem. With the biometrics question, usually it takes 3-4 weeks before you will be get the biometrics appointment but it depends on your state. Just wondering are u a k1 visa? if your currently holding a 2 years green card and your applying already for a removal of condition which is the 10 years gc, the receipt of your application would include the extension for another year for your 2 years gc..so you don't need to worry about the expiration of your gc...

@Apple 21 is right..... the link provided is very informative. B2 or tourist visa does not give you any right to seek employement here in US and getting married to a USC is a red flag in USCIS. As per my advice, you need to go back to Philippines before your tourist visa expires and from there you and your bf can file a fiancée visa or get married in Philippines and have the spousal visa. You have work as an attorney in the Philippines and you may have more knowledge than us with regards to legal matters. Better do the right thing so that if ever your already married to your USC bf, you can focus on your profession.

With regards to your profession, you can check the US state requirement, the different licensure that you need, to have to practice your profession, it may take longer time but its worth in the end. I perfectly understand your feelings of taking a risk esp if the your profession is involve but then if you really LOVE your bf and wants to be with him then take the risk.

I received my NOA2 letter on Feb. 21st. I called NVC to try an obtain an MNL number/Release date from them but wasn't successful in obtaining that information until today. Honestly, I was surprised they had it. They had told me it could take well over a month for them to have that information for me, so to have it this quickly makes me very happy.

They gave me the MNL number and told me that it was sent to the Philippines Embassy on March 8th. Now that I have this info, I was wondering if you vets could provide some clarity on the next steps. Some of the guides I've seen say to basically wait 8 days or so from the date of when it was sent to the Embassy (In this case it'd be March 16th) and try to schedule an interview at UltraVisaDocs (Non Immigrant). If it allows me, my fiancee can pay the BPI fee ($350.00) and get her medical exam taken care of at St. Lukes in Manila.

Is this the correct setup?

Hi I'm newbie here,,, need help too,, I mailed my form I-751 and supporting documents today and its 10 days late,,I am expecting a baby on August o this year,, the reason why I just mailed it today is that I got so sick (nauseated/ vomiting with connection of my pregnancy) and on those times i just feel helpless,,and been busy working,, I didn't notice that my gc will expire on 6/01/13 I haven't paid attention on the expiration I thought I see 6/11/13 not 6/01/13,, till I made a copy of it and didn't research on the Internet that I need to write letter of explanation of why I am late,, is someone out there have the same issue before? Please I need advise,, anything that you will share regarding my post will be greatly appreciated,

So this is me and my fiancé's situation. I am the immigrant to be from Manila and she is the USC. She just got a job that pays $8.40 an hour which would put us under the 125% of the poverty line. She has had a little credit problem as well. Would we have a decent chance of having the visa granted to us as it is? If not, I have an uncle that would be willing to sponsor me/us and should be enough through poverty line. I would be very thankful for your feedback and opinion on this matter!

if you have an uncle that would sponsor then that would be a possibility, he just need to fill up the forms for affidavit of support....

so i have my interview tomorrow and i have to admit, im nervous!!!

U.S. is not an ideal place to come.they have no jobs. monopolies are everywhere.they even don't accept our education.all you get warehouse jobs. GSI,or ZAPOOS.i don't know about u but my life was very good in my country.i am now panic here can't go back.racism is here also,lots of problem. this is not a place of to come any more.

There is no REAL PERFECT country.....you just need to be thinking positively that things could be better. But then if you think US is not an ideal place for you then try to talk to your partner and return to your home country where u said u have a better life. Im sure US wouldn't mind if you leaved US....
