  1. so our nao2 is a few weeks late now, probably not a suprise to most people who applied in july/august like we did.

last night we called and the woman said she had sent a 'service request' so our visa should get looked at soon.

we have the service number and things but was just wondering....this anything more than a delay tactic to keep us off the phone to them for a while longer while they eat cookies and coffee?

  2. We sent outs off at the start of August which was as soon as we could scrape the money together to get it sent off, its kind of a kick in the face because we were hearing of all these couple of week processing times and now were over the 5 month mark and havent heard a single thing from Vermont about this.

We had a little freak out recently because the 'national average' time is something like 22 months, i have no idea how that works out but 15 mins work?really?

so at almost 2 grand an hour pay for work it takes them 6 months to get round to it.

  3. Thanks for the posts back, they were very reassuring and helped us a load over the last few weeks when things got to us a little with the whole visa thing.

Now on our time line its giving us estimated dates that tie in pretty well with what you guys have said which is raising spirits a load too.....seems like the 20 month thing really is a total mess up.

  4. We have a petition being processed at the Vermont centre at present.

Its only a week or two away from the 5 month mark and we were always told this was pretty much the maximum.

But today we checked and the 'National Average' was 20 months.

Just wanted to make sure this isnt the new waiting time for everyone? looked like it was pretty wrong when i checked with the vermont averages and also the ones for california.

  5. recently moved house at short notice and clearly need to change address with the visa folk. how do you change the address of the alien fiance from one UK address to another UK address because the only online form we can find seems to assume that iv moved to the USA already?

really bothered about this because dont want any forms and appointments being sent to an address i no longer have any access to.

  6. okay,i dont want to get in to the morals of young couples and things and theres no reason for us marrying other than we love each other and we plan on marrying when shes 18 but the visa takes so long were starting now.

right now thats out the way....my finacee is from texas and is 17, the visa says we need proof of permission for her to marry as shes under age but her parents have agreed to it all and are happy to concent.

we know that we can get the wedding licence when im over there and things but that expires within 30 days.

so what on earth do they mean by proof of permission?

    help,please

  7. We recently got engaged and were finding so many different people and places saying so many different times so i was wondering how long people here are finding things are taking?

im from the UK and shes from texas. wev seen some stuff saying itl take over a year and some people saying 4 months for it all to be over with?

whats the general thinking and experience on the time its taking people?
