just so were clear here....we just need to file the adjustment of status within 90 days of entering the states....so if we post it off with 2 weeks left of the 90 days.....were still legal and everything is totally okay with that? cheers for the help
-
you got 6 months to enter the states with it,then another 3 months (well 90 days) to get married after that.
our interview for the uk is friday, from us sending off the petition was about 7 months
-
so what are people or what have people worn to the interview at the embassy?
any ideas? i dont wanna turn up in shirt and tie if i can get away with a polo shirt and jeans?
please advise?
-
if you click on the 'guides' section there is a step by step of the k-1 process and what you need to do at each stage that im sure you will find very helpful,it even has links to the forms u need and examples of how to fill them out
-
im doing the k1...i cant see any such restrictions on the i 134 sponsor form, and her birthday is in a couple of months,so she will be 18 by the time we file the AOS,so we should be pretty okay im thinking, that was our plan at least
-
hey my fiancee (the american petitioner) is 17 too and were a few days away from our interview. we have a co sponsor so hopefully that is a way around it. oh we also included a letter from her parents and co signed by a family friend to say that her parents are allowing us to marry and live in the house and things.
il let you know how that goes down at the interview but thats all we could think of to get around the problem

my fiance has called the dos and my interview is on friday (25th) and i havent yet got my packet 4 letter in the post, and i know i need it to get in to the embassy.
have other people got theirs at really short notice recently?
is there anything i need to be doing about it?
-
its a laptop that fits a wide screen laptop,so i dont wanna take a chance on that being considered a 'small' laptop. i think im gonna just wait at the pharmacy around the corner and then run back to the embassy as soon as i get my backpack put away. thanks for all the help with this
-
ah,from what i can see they are pretty close together anyway so i guess thats pretty good timing to drop the bag off
-
okay heres the deal,my interview is next friday at 8am.
now iv been told to get in to the line for it all by everyone on here an hour before the interview....so 7am.
samll problem here, il be coming up on the coach from Bournemouth that morning, and i will have a backpack with my papers and wallet,ect...
its not anything major, just a normal backpack like u see any one wearing.
now i know you arent allowed a list of things as long as your arm in the embassy......does that include a backpack that im happy to be searched and will just have my folder of papers, wallet and a book in?
and if thats not allowed, does anyone have an idea of what i can do with it?the left luggage at the coach station opens at 7...and the pharmacy place opens at 7 30 or something like that im told, both to late.
please help, its been to long a journey to mess it up over a backpack
-
thanks guys for the help with all this. i think we got pretty much everything worked out now...just a couple more things to ask if anyone can help with it...
our interview is at 8am....is this a normal time or is there some reason its so early?
and also,as you all have said its a good idea to get there at least an hour early....that would be 7am...that gaulds place doesnt open till 7 30
is there anywhere else i can drop off my backpack?
-
ah thats perfect thanks so much, im planning on just arriving in london at some ungodly hour as i only live a couple of hours away on the coach, saves a bit of money. do you by chance remember what you needed to take to the interview?
-
i have read a load of the reviews and things from people who have had their interview at london.
but id really like to find out what i need to take and if anyone has any little tips to make that day a little less stressful for people coming up to do it soon. mine is in a week and i still havent got the letter in the post, would love to know what i need to take and things.any help would be great
-
we got our interview date today from the DOS for next week on friday,so we would have about a weeks notice or less if we waited for the post, thanks to everyone telling us to call the dos
-
if there is so little time between reciving the interview letter and the actual interview i guess it would be best to call and pay for the visa before my interview date is assigned?
it says on the website that instructions are sent with the interview letter though?
-
hey,its been about a week now since they recieved the medical results, and a week before that that logged my packet 3.
so why on earth have we not got an interview date yet? what more do they need?
how long after they have everything should we expect to get the interview date? (the woman at the DOS when we called just advised us to 'keep checking back' with no idea of a time frame)?
-
you pay the fee over the phone before you go to interview. and the medical is a few mins walk from bond street station
-
just to make clear, we would love any idea of when we recive the packet 4 in the post? and whats the interview wait time these days?
-
so our packet 3 has been logged a few days ago and the medical results should have got to the embassy about the same time. when we called the DOS to find this out they said the packet 4 was being sent.
so just to make sure, what is in the packet 4?its just the interview letter isnt it?
and how long after all this stuff gets logged do you get an interview date on average? were getting a little impatient now. so close to being together again
-
thats because the NVC dont do anything with the K-1. they just send it to the embassy. i think they actually do some work on the CR-1.
it took us a couple of weeks longer than usual as we got our noa-2 when there was all the snow and bad weather so the NVC was closed a lot, so perhaps its a little backed up right now too?
-
my fiance is also a student and were both pretty young, were not having any problem with it just yet...and when we provided the evidence,we just gave tickets (well actualy check in stubs) and copied the visa stamps in passports,we didnt show anything about payment for the tickets. message me if you want any more advice or anything
-
you need to take it to the medical exam these days so you need to open it to be able to show them the certificate. and it comes with a letter explaining how to undertstand the information on it so im assuming its okay
-
I would have thought it would just be non uk citizens living here because they need to get extra information sent over? i bloody hope so,we have a wedding date to catch too and our interview hasnt been set yet either.
-
just a thought but perhaps our efforts would be best spent planning weddings, doing things for the visa and generally making sure things go smoothly and as painlessly as possible for those leaving everything they know to move to the states?
i dont know, just seems a better use of our time, not like we can change the costs or anything.
