Just got off the phone with my fiance in VN. It means not sleeping together before marriage. It literally means "No eating before the bell" and is a fairly recent saying that came about after the the North takes over the South. The North Vietnamese soldiers used to be called to a meal by the cook hitting a piece of metal tied to a rope. "Keng" is the sound this makes.

Holy #######, Batman!
Seriously, I don't know what the circumstances were between Marc and Jerome. Both Marc and Mr. Nam are usually brutally honest when it comes to sizing up your relationship from a CO's perspective. I didn't think this was unprofessional. In fact, it was precisely what I wanted and expected. Maybe Marc sensed how Jerome would react and chose to speak with his wife instead. Dunno.
You know, I enjoyed speaking with Marc and Mr Nam. I appreciated their honesty and constructive input. i didn't want to pay money just to hear someone tell me what they think I wanted to hear. I can lie to myself quite well all by myself already

Double Congrats!

That is indeed a great immigration company
Congratulations on the pink. How did she manage to remember all those interview questions?
-
Wow. Congrats! Does this sound like things are getting better at the HCM consulate?

Congratulations!
How did you present your Skype and Yahoo evidence?

I've had every single Vietnamese relative tell me this like they're the only one who knows LOL

Very true. I negelected to read the part that says "While waiting for interview to be scheduled, applicants should prepare the following documents:"
So only the beneficiary needs the police certificate. Woohoo.

I'm a US citizen and will be petitioning for my fiance who is from Vietnam. I was born in Vietnam but grew up in Australia from 1981-1997. The K1 requirements state that I need a police certificate for over from any country in which I resided for more than one year while age 16 or older.
How would I go about getting a police certificate from Australia? Australians please chime in.
Thank you.

Hi guys.
My girl is finally divorced.
Does the VN divorce decree need to be translated into English and/or notarized when submitted?
Thanks.

Congratulations.
On my own Naturalization Day years ago, The Los Angeles Convention Center was also hosting Adultcon - the porn convention - and there were porn stars waiting to cross the street with us to get to the convention center. And on the way home to orange County, the northbound 405 was shut down due to a freeway shooting. It was quite an exciting welcome to US citizenship

What does a 10 year residency document look like?
Date xxxx Address xxxxxx ?
Or is this too simple? In my case it would be just a single line...
-
according to the article it is just games they are blocking
It's a good thing IMO if it's supposed to stop this.

No visa needed for Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia
-
Yes, they will want to see tax info.
Thanks. Should I bite the bullet financially and file separately this year? Would you do that if you were in my situation?
-
Yes.
Yes they always require to see transcripts or yes it is a red flag that should be addressed?
-
Since it's tax time I thought this would the the right time to ask this question.
My girl and I are both going through divorces - we were a couple many many years ago and reconnected. My divorce is amicable and is not finalized yet due to the California mandatory waiting period. Hers is not finalized because the ex is causing trouble but it'll work out eventually. I will be waiting several months after the divorces are finalized to file for K1. I've already taken several trips to see her and have all the evidence so far in preparation.
Since I have rental properties which have yet to be split and my current house is still in both names, it is economically advantageous to file 2010 taxes jointly, and my ex suggested that we do this. Would this be advisable or would it raise a red flag with the consulate?
Would they request to see the tax transcripts for every case? My salary is nowhere near the minimum level.
Thank you for your response.

That's sad, my girl told me about this last night. I was on a 3 day Halong cruise just 3 months ago. The boat had problems since the water was calm and it happened when everybody were asleep.

US tours in Little Saigon, Cali 1-714-531-8100. $1040 from LAX including the visa, so you just need to add the airfare from the East Coast to LAX.

You seem to be a very mature young lady and kudos to you for thinking far ahead.

I've been using www.aloviet.com for around 8 months now.
It's 3.5c/min to a landline and 7.5c/min to a cell phone. You can also use it in Vietnam to call the US for 7.5c/min. On Wednesdays and Sundays they give you 20% more credit when you recharge. You can even generate call records for the period you specify.
My wife is applying for US Citizenship

I'm not sure if you have children yet but if you do live in VN as expats, chances are your kids will be going to either an international school or some other high end institution full of rich kids with chauffers etc, and it may be difficult to keep them grounded.
