I could not resist and I called the consulate again today to check, and apparently they still have not sent our letter . The guy on the phone got frustrated with me when I tried to update our addresses too (we both happen to be moving this week) and apparently I was missing my fiance's new zip code . I hope he does not "lose" our file or something because of that...

It looks like we are going to shoot for meeting in Juarez on September 19th to take care of our interview that week! As long as they have sent out our invitation letter by then we should be good to go (eek!).

How are things going? Has your embassy received your case yet? I am still pulling everything together for the interview but it is not so bad and I am only being a slow-poke because I can . I hope you are well-I am thinking about you guys!

YAY!!! As of yesterday we are out of AP at the NVC and off to the CDJ consulate Yipee!!!

Awww, thanks! Just rolling along-trying to do a little bit every day to prepare all of the documents for the interview (mostly getting my financial information together right now). Luckily I am going away for the weekend, so I promised myself that I would not call the NVC again until Monday! hehe

CDJ consulate is back open

Well, I called the NVC to find out the status of our case, and apparently we have been flagged for "Additional Processing". It sounds like this means a month-long delay while they run additinal background checks. Awesome.

I called the (603)334-0700 number, but it was really busy so it took about 20 times before I could get through, and then I had to wait on hold for about half an hour before I could talk to someone. They said that they are still sending cases to CDJ even though they are closed (I don't think he quite understood my question at first though, and was pretty snippy...).

Yes, I actually received an email this morning saying that they had send the approval on the 23rd. When I checked the status online it had changed as well and it said the same thing. The online status did not change before that (on the 23rd I mean), so I don't know if it had something to do with the weekend or if there is just a built in lag time?

Nope, nothing since the 9th. In looking at the boards, it seems like a lot of people are getting NOA2s in the mail without receiving any status changes online, so I am not so sure about the accuracy of the USCIS website anymore [*sigh*]. Haha So, now I am checking the mailbox like a freak every day, in addition to checking the USCIS website 10,000 times a day!!! What we do for ...

Ooh! First friend-I feel so special! haha Actually we are doing the K1, so we are not married yet. Marco's family is from a small town close to Cuernavaca called Jonacatepec (not so far from Mexico City), but he has been living and teaching in Puerto Vallarta for about a year now. Not a bad place to visit .

I know! I am trying not to obsess too much and just work here and there on the interview information .

I think we have the same NOA1 date from the VSC, so I wanted us to stay in touch about our timelines . I am so excited too! I think I check the USCIS website about 500 times a day...
