Yes, you will have to do the interview in Juarez, and they have the clinics next door to the consulate. Do your medical exam first thing Monday morning, and if all is well, interview on Tuesday at the consulate. That gives you the rest of the week to wait for your passport with the visa in it to be produced by the consulate. Take a look at my review if you want more detailed information.

Congratulations! I am so excited for you ! I go to get my fiance on Saturday (finally!) and we will get married at the courthouse sometime in December too (maybe the same week), with our real wedding on February 12th. All the best to you both-enjoy everything, you sure earned it!

No, they would not let me into the consulate or even ask my fiance if I was in town. But, it seems like for some people they asked them if it was possible for their fiance to come in for an interview as well (but they were able to deflect the questions if it was really financially not feasible for them to do so).

Hey there! Congratulations on the wedding!!! My fiance arrives on December 4th, and then off to the courthouse to get married! I just bought my wedding dress and sent out the save the date cards for our big wedding in February (wow-feels so real now!!!).

By full price I hope you don't mean that you will pay for another physical! Did you check the "Civil Surgeons who Won't Rip You Off" board to see if there is anyone in your area? I think I am just going to have someone here translate the vaccination records and then have it notarized, and give that to the doctor to transcribe (but around here there is a good chance they will speak Spanish anyway).

I am hoping that in Texas it won't be an issue ! Have you been looking into vaccinations at all? I want to be sure that all that is required is the Td/Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, but I am not sure. I think I found some civil surgeons in my area that will transcribe the records for $25-$50, but I want him to get the shots before he comes because I am sure they will be cheaper in Mexico.

He is at his interview right now (eek)! Everything went well with his medical yesterday, and we feel fairly safe here (we are staying inside-I stand out sooo much here in Juarez). I will update as soon as I know anything!!!

I think they say to wait around 2-3 weeks so that your information for sure has enough time to make it into their system, but after that go for it

The website is pretty much the only information you will receive from the USCIS about the status of your application. But, even when it is approved, that won't really let you know when your interview will be scheduled. Spend some time in the Peru forums to see how long the process is taking to get an interview once the National Visa Center (NVC) sends your information to the consulate there. That will clue you in more about your country-specific timeline. Good luck!!!
