  1. 1) TV, get GMA TFC etc for her to be able to watch.

    2) Contact with family, make sure she can easily contact her family back home often.

    3) Access to local resources.

---a) Find the local Filipino Community, local Catholic Church is a good way to do this if you don't havea local Filipino store. Find the one that has a monthly Filipino service.

---b) Help her get her driver's license or teach her how to use the local transit. They are used to being fairly mobile back home so living in suburban america without driving will get problematic.

---c) Filipino/Asian store so she can cook the food she's loved her whole life.

    4) Find a local Asian Restaurant that she likes, try several and let her pick her favorites.

    5) Get a rice cooker and other things that will help her cook they way she wants.

My wife says 3b was probably the biggest help then 4.

I would also like to add the following

    6) teach her to split firewood

    7) teach her how to stack that firewood

    8) if you live in a northern state she can also learn how much fun shoveling the driveway is :star:

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

she will be sooooooo tired that she has little or no time for homesickness

    he he he he

  2. Thanks for that, and would you or anyone else have any input on my second question?

I am going out on a limb here(others please correct me if i am wrong)

the standard is quite high for a visitor visa to the U.S.

my understanding is that your wife would have to own a bunch of property or a business in her home country.

this is done so she will not overstay her visa.

  3. I included pictures, but not chat transcripts, or even excerpts of chat transcripts. The transcripts are not given as much weight as photos, visa stamps, and boarding passes due to the fact that they can be more easily falsified. You need to include proof of relationship now, else you'll end up getting an RFE which will slow down your petition approval. Go ahead and keep a copy of what you send in; it may come in handy later if your petition gets lost somewhere and they ask you to resend it.

the question that i have is what have people been sending in as proof of a relationship?

I sent in 3 affidavits from people that were sponsors at our wedding.

I also sent in our wedding picture & explained that many prominent members of the local community & church attend our wedding including the mayor & his wife. I don't think they will want to tell the mayor that he is a liar & that he never attended.....will they? Infact the mayor loaned us his personal vehicle & driver for the wedding.

  4. aww i hope your father in law is ok now..

great pictures too. u took pictures every step of the way :)

Oh yes he is well now & back to fishing in his boat

That is what he has done all his life in fact before it was badly damaged in a storm he was the captin of a really big boat

i think about 100 feet long.

the small boat he has now was built by his brother about 10 years ago. It's patched up some but even though it's small it still brings in the fish for him. The motor in the thing is made in china (about 3 hp) & it's better than nothing but it likes to overheat.

Once my wife arrives we intend to have a larger more powerful boat built for him so he can better provide for his family.

I don't want to risk hurting his pride by just sending money every month. Much better to give him the tools to make more money himself

  5. Id love to know the 'mimimum' criteria required by the USCIS for an expedite. We've seen recently, obviously millitary reasons, serious health issues, pregnancy issues, operations - all on their own merits required this process but thre are also others that we dont get to hear about, for whatever reason.

For instance, I wonder if theres an expedite situtation approved because the petitioner is heavily in debt with banks/govt....

    Curious!

i don't think so infact if it was me i would keep that info to myself , no point in giving the govt. extra info that they don't need/shouldn't have.

PS: don't they run a credit check at some point on the petitioner ??

  6. I know some of the UK hospitals had nurses from the Phillipines brought in a few years back due to a shortage, so you never know.

    Nothing ventured nothing gained!

    your so rite !!!

If it is employment visa, it would have been helped.

    Loto

    It's not it's a CR-1 but i'll still give it a shot

my understanding is that you will make exactly 0% of the shots that you don't take :star:

  7. Hi Piglett! Welcome to "our" forum hehe..and yes u are right we'll be spending the next few months with each other. no one has really introduced themselves here like u have so its nice that u did :) well since we're on that topic let me introduced myself ..and my husband hehe.

my husband and i are both 24 yrs old. We've known each other since kindergarten. lost contact for about a decade then in 2005 we started talking again. we married last august in the philippines. theres a video of our wedding under my signature. no kids yet, maybe sometime late next year or the year after. i'm a nurse here in san diego and he works for the city from where we grew up at.

i hope these next few months will fly by quickly so we can all be with our loved ones :)

Great wedding video, my wife & I intended to have one too but we ended up just having pictures.

when we arrived in Romblon province, My soon to be father inlaw had a huge infection on the back side of his head.

He needed to go to the hospital RITE THEN!!

After a couple of day the local hospital said that the wanted him to go to Manila.

I told my wife to take some of the wedding money & give to parents to cover his medical costs.

I still think it was a great wedding though

i have a link below my signature with all the pictures.

    take care

  8. If you've sent in the form for electronic notification, you'll either get an email or text (or both) when they officially log in your petition. It takes about a week for them to do so (my petition got there Nov 1, and I got the text/email the 5th). They will tell you the case number then. If you didn't opt in to the e-note, then you'll get your case number with your first NOA.

    thanks for the info CanadaLove

i added a link from the thread that i started (i hadn't seen this one)

not much point in having 2 thread dealing with the same subject.....is there?

I'll tell everyone a little about myself due to the fact that all of us will be spending time together in the next few months.

    I'm 40 & i live in New hampshire

i got married in the Philippines back in June

My wife is a nurse there she is 27

we have no childeren at this point but thought it mite be a good idea to have 1 or 2 in a few years.

We were married in the remote province where she is from & where her parents still live.

    when i say remote I'm talking 20 hour boat ride! ! !

    good luck to all

  9. Any expedite request will be considered based on the totality of circumstances. Financial is one of them if applicable but seldom will a case be expedited simply because the US Citizen has a financial problem. If the financial problem is connected to the US Citizen's serious medical condition, then it's part of the totality.

The kind of "details" I was thinking of was clarity on who has the problem and the general nature of the problem. An answer like, "I have a serious medical condition and need my foreign spouse to both care for me and support our family." would be details enough. On the other hand, if the answer were something along the lines of, "My foreign husband is sick and lost his job, so WE need him to come here ASAP, so I can take care of him." there would be little chance.

    Hey PushBack great info thanks

the question that i have it as follows, If i can prove that there is a nurse shortage in my area could my wifes visa be expedited?

    thanks

  10. The OP is just in love and has abused spouse syndrome. Considering reconciliation he's no better than the woman who gets beaten up but tries to make it work with the man because she loves him. The OP obviously loves the girl, but it takes two people in love for a successful marriage. One thing I have learned is that no matter how much you want to, you can't make yourself love someone else. From the sound of his story to me, I'm not sure the girls original intent was to defraud the guy and scam him. I think she wanted to love him. But wanting to love someone isn't going to keep you from playing around with your ex boyfriend who you really do love. OP can love her all he wants and want her to love him back, but she is never going to love him the way he loves her, and the sooner he realizes that and moves on the better. She has proven herself to be someone who makes bad decisions and is WILLING to hurt him to get what she wants - and he is going to have only himself to blame when she hurts him more with a violence charge to stay in the country. I am surprised the OP hasn't posted the last few days... which makes me think he is still thinking/talking reconciliation. If he had revoked her status or made arrangements to put her on a plane, I bet he'd have posted by now. He is probably ashamed to post it because he knows what the consensus is here that he should do. I hope I'm wrong.

    VERY WELL SAID !!!! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
