  1. hi OP...don't let those type of people, especially those type of fellow kababayans get to you. she's doing exactly what you said...which is disrespect you and embarass you because husband's ex is her friend. there's a lot of filipinos here in the states like that....na they try to over do one another. you're not missing much by deciding not to be friends with these people...those types of "i can outdo you" people you don't want to be friends with anyways. but don't let it deter you from going to other filipino gatherings. not all of our kababayans have that kind of attitude.

  2. OP like mentioned in another member's post, you and your wife's concern should be all the personal information that was given to these people. she should've went straight to USCIS and called them, instead of somebody whom she possibly found in the yellow pages.

if you and your wife actually works on this whole process, it's actually not as bad as people think. it's really an easy process. i think the most hardest part is all the waiting you and your wife have to do.

  3. You can go to your CFO after your interview. You can go before as well using your interview e-mail as your proof to get in. It's up to you. If you choose to wait until after your interview, and haven't received your passport from the Embassy yet, you can still attend the seminar, and counselling. They will give you your completion certificates. Once you have your passport from the Embassy, take it, and your certificates to the nearest CFO office. They will affix the stamp to your Visa. If I can make a suggestion, use PRISM for your CFO seminar. I have heard they are less stringent than St Mary's. Make sure you bring all of the required documents for the seminar. Most people will just take the same package they had at their interview.

Good luck, Maligayang Pasko, at Manigong bagong taon!

  4. we're thinking this was annotated on the passport because of my son's primary when he was just an infant/toddler. but that has already been cleared and even on the medical exam the doctors told my wife he was clear.

should i be worried? everything they need to submit regarding this special attention is in the sealed envelope, right?

  5. wife told me last night on the phone that their visas were delivered the evening of 12/20...woohoo!!!!! but as she was looking through their passport, she said that there was an additional stamp on my son's passport under the visa stamp. she said it said "TD A/B REQ USPHS AT POE". does anyone know what that stamp means?

  6. ok thank u for the reply sis... so if i am goin to get my NBI i need to put an A.K.A, my two short Ma. ( coz used in my school records and MC) bcoz we listed these two short Ma. to my G- 325A form...

but now i am using my long Maria. ( in my BC, my passport and other legal docs.)

i would be on the safe side and get the NBI clearance with all the AKA's indicated on it. the reason why i say that is because when my wife went for their (with kids) interview last week, the pre-screener gave her a hard time about needing to get another NBI clearance with her AKA on it. her name was misspelled on our oldest son's BC, NSO has already fixed it a few years ago by making a notation at the side of his BC stating the correction....and wife told the pre-screener as much. although the person was very nice to my wife, he kept insisting that a new one with the wrong name as AKA needed to be on the NBI clearance. the good thing though...somehow between the pre-screener and the final interview, it worked itself out. the CO did not say that any documentations needed correcting.

so just to be sure you don't catch a snag, have the AKA's put on your NBI clearance.

  7. HELP !!!

i have nothing with MNL number on it.....

but just got the number verbally from nvc....

    no mails from them.....

they sent my papers to US embassy last nov 23....

have scheduled my appointment already for 2nd week january....

    my medical first week....

will they need a proper document with my MNL number?

as i got none at the moment....

we have not received a letter from nvc.....

    thanks

don't you have anything from the NVC that they sent via email? petitioner should've received NOA2 letter in the mail when USCIS approved the petition to go forward with NVC processing.

  8. thanks for the info guys & gals. much appreciated. but one more question...since my kids are below 12, does my wife then just bring their passport with her when she does the seminar and then they will stamp it?

  9. Hopefully, when you get to the consulate processes in Manila, they will have updated their information. If they have not, you will really be confused.

Your pay service will be telling you one thing to do and the VJ'ers will be telling you another way.

    Follow the VJ'ers way.

 especially if the VJ'ers had already gone to the process and have proven they knew what they were talking about.

  10. congratulations TomD!!

i can't believe at how late things are sent. not sure if it's the post office or NVC. a week before the interview, wife kept asking when the appointment letter was gonna come. i told her it might come the day before, but not to worry because she got the email version of it already. well the interview date came and went...and what comes in the mail yesterday?!?!?!?!...you guessed it...the interview appointment letter :bonk::rofl:

  11. My wife mentioned of the "Pink Slip," its still there.. they didnt give her any take home papers/envelope.. they said 2go will deliver passport and visa to her house..

that's what happened to my wife after consul was done with the interview the other day. did not give her anything.

Sheesh!... I never experience the famous "pink slip" 'coz unfortunately the CO who interviewed me run out of pink slip. He just told me to wait for the window (courier) to call my name for my packet delivery.

happened to my wife too...but it's not because they ran out of any slip. the consul just told her to wait for her number to be called at the window.

so i really can take a deep breath now knowing that the wife and kids' visas are approved!! woohoo!!!!

Hi!thanks for the info!:) and good luck on your fiancee's interview. keep us posted.

I called 0116323012000x5184 and asked for my fiances visa status, Accdg to the nice lady she said it was printed out dec 10(friday) and should come in the mail within 7-10 days.Because of the new system they dont have a way to track visas yet.But she asked if my fiance gave his cellphone number to 2GO (which he did the day after interview) and she added 2Go will send him a text message on the day the visa will be delivered. and S0, another waiting game, which is not bad at all.

yehey!! thats good to know Chazzie! look at it this way...at least the wait will not be months anymore di ba? natapos na interview nila bossing the other day. and approve na sila. hmmm...wondering if it will take as long for the wife to get theirs.

  12. thanks everyone. it was a long road travelled...but like we all know, long roads end all the time because the cement/asphalt ran out

but i confirmed with the wife last night. she said that the consul never gave her anything (not a piece of paper and not a congratulations lol). what she said the consul told her after the interview was "wait outside for your number to be called" and when it was called, she went to the window where they gave her a form/piece of paper where she had to fill out for delivery address. she's not unsure but it either said visa delivery form or she was told to "fill out the visa delivery form". but the window she said was the releasing window.

  13. Hi everyone!

is there anyone here who was interviewed Dec with the new system has received their visa?My fiance was interviewed Dec 1st and we still dont have actual visa on hand.

i just spoke to somebody from the visa desk at this number (214) 571-1600 and she said that visas may be delayed because of the retrogression. but she also said that because of this, it may take 10 days for the delivery...and if not received by that 10 days, to call the embassy or the courier to check what's going on with the delivery.

  14. Maybe the pink slip was used only when it was Air21 that they were using as courier. Now that it's 2Go, it's a white slip.

hay...nakaka-loka naman!! i remember the wife saying she was given a piece of paper to take to the window. i'll ask her tonight to confirm what color.

  15. ok...i called the visa service desk at this number (214) 571-1600. the representative told me that if my wife was asked to go to the releasing window and fill out a form for delivery, it means that their visa was approved. the rep was also asking what kind of form my wife was given though. but she said since wife was not given anything that said visas were denied and was sent to the releasing window, we just have to wait for the visas and passports to be delivered. she did say that since there's a retrogression, it may take about 10 days for it to be delivered. rep did say that the application fee i paid already included the visa delivery.

what do you guys think about all of this?

  16. did she get a pink slip and pay for the visa delivery?

    .

see that's the thing i don't get. i asked her if she got a pink slip and she said she was not given anything. the only thing she was given was a paper to take to the window. she said at the releasing window, they had her fill out some form indicating an address for delivery. and when she asked 2go as far as payment, she was told that the delivery fee was included in the processing fees that i have paid. that's why im so confused!

  17. ok..so wife and kids had their interview yesterday. the wife said that the consul neither said visas were denied nor approved. but she was told to go to a window and the window was for releasing. clerk at the window said everything was ok because if there was something missing or if there was any problems, she wouldn't be at that particular window.

but it was weird. pre-interviewer wanted to make my wife get a new NBI clearance with AKA. he said name on my oldest son's BC was spelled differently. so she told him that we already got it corrected and proof was that the correction is notated on the BC. but pre-interviewer was adamant. at the interview with the consul, it was never mentioned and nothing else was asked for. i do think that the consul asked her a trick question. wife said when the consul saw the kids, she was asked if the kids were mine or hers. of course she wondered why consul would ask that but she said it was "our" kids. after that, wife said the consul was a bit more nicer. wife was asked why it took so long for the petition since we've been married for a decade, what i do for work, where i live and how we met. oldest son was asked what his favorite school subject, how old his brother is, and what's his brother's name.

only thing wife needed to show was pictures to the pre-interviewer. consul never asked her to submit anything else. now...just have to wait for the visas, CFO, oldest son to take his early finals and the month of February (when they will fly out here to be with me!). GOOD DAYS AHEAD!!!!

  18. wow...this thread turned out to be a roller coaster.

but in any case...Gilles, going to the people your wife support will not do you any good...let alone it's her immediate family. and yes...chances are, you will be on their sh!tlist. because if they are now 100% dependent on your wife for most (if not all) of their daily needs/necessities/luxuries (whatever you want to call it), her family will stick together tighter than duct tape folded onto itself to protect the easy money that comes to them each month. hell you're probably on that list now. like you said, she's talked to her family. they probably only been hearing at how you are not wanting her to have any money at all.

on another note...it would be interesting what your wife would say if you did have her post her side on here.
