Patricio and I are still so very much in love... why did things go the way they did? Why was there so much suffering while there is still so much love? I don't understand...
-
I'm feeling better these days, though my relationship hasn't changed much. I made a much needed move to a big city (by myself) and I am meeting new friends and exercising so I'm feeling more light-hearted.
-
Patricio got arrested for a DUI last night... feels like the last straw right now, I'm ready for this to stop.
-
These days I feel foolish for not choosing a local boy... at least then I would know what to expect. Sort of. I believe everything we do is an opportunity, I just have to find my opportunity hiding here.
-
I am alone in my house now... every day seems closer to a divorce and further from a solution, which is making me very sad. Also, the promise to quit drinking was actually a joke apparently. :-( At least now I can choose to not answer the phone.
-
Well, things are a little better now. Patri has promised to quit drinking again so hopefully that has a positive effect on us. Also, we're looking into living separately for a while, mostly so he can see how much work I put into making his life happen. He needs to grow up a bit and figure out his demons. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Less than a month into our marriage and my husband has taken up drunken bad-mouthing. He calls me a ####### and a ###### while I cover him with blankets cause he's sleeping on the couch. I'm so ashamed of this mess I can hardly even tell my family. How did it get like this?
-
Also, I noticed y'all are talking about whether or not to buy his plane ticket before the interview... it is a HUGE risk but if you plan everything out it can pay off. I don't recommend it because of the cost and stress etc but it did work out for us (in Ecuador). Definitely give him 10 days after the interview to get the passport with the visa... and even then a lot could go wrong!...

Hey, thanks for your comment. After you are married within the 90 days in the US you can technically wait months or even years to file AOS paperwork. You will be out of status, you can't work, and all delays just cause everything to take longer... but if you can't file right away (because of a lost job or whatever) you can still file later without penalty.
-
Well, we did it. We are now married! As is my way, I waited til the last possible day, but our certified marriage certificate is in hand. Now I just need a job again to be able to sponsor him.
-
Two months and two weeks have passed since Patricio came into the US with me... and we have yet to get married. It's now or never, no?
-
No. It's when you are sure beyond sure. You can look at it one of two ways....one get married and if it is unhappy you can end it before the lifting of conditions.....Or you can take more time and go through the K1 process again......I don't know your story but from what is here.... and maybe I am reading more into then I should, but seems your a little more then the nervous bride not knowing what will come. I wish you luck and a happy decision.

Well, things are better but still very uncertain... Doesn't help that I lost my job 2 days ago and can no longer sponsor him. =( I think that I lost it because of all of this trouble too...
-
Hey, I think it might be nice to actually talk to you, I feel like we'd have a lot to talk about... things are better here but I still don't know what is going to happen. Sounds like you're in a similar situation... I have withdrawn from this community because I feel kind of ashamed of the uncertainty (fiance is supposed to mean you're definitely getting married, right?) but may...

Life here with him is very different from life there with him. not in a good way. :-/

Hello, you live in Rocklin? That's very close to where we're at in Nevada City. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have, feel free to send me messages and ask anything you'd like. Good luck!
-
I read your story... sounds tough but love is an amazing thing. We were in the same position- not that his family hates me, but everyone thought we were crazy for doing this and that it would never work out. Believe me, it does! We'll be married in a couple of weeks, here in California. Have faith, trust in each other, and you'll be together again soon. :-)
-
Buena suerte! We just finished our k-1 visa in Ecuador, if you have any questions feel free to ask me!

-
Wooh! interview was a success we are APPROVED!!
-
Yay! I got the email from the Guayaquil consulate saying they're ready for us to prepare and call for the interview! Patricio is going to have the medical done Wednesday and we'll call to schedule la cita on Monday... Hopefully I'll be in Ecuador in 2 weeks!
-
Received our letter from NVC today, and it has our Guayaquil case number so I am very happy. Hopefully it will arrive there and be entered into their system quickly.
-
How did you get through NVC so fast?! I called and they said they haven't even received our petition yet... :-(
