Received the bio letter yesterday. Appointment scheduled for 8/13. We're going to have to reschedule though as my husband is away then. Has anyone sent in a request for a new date and a new ASC? The one he's scheduled for is over an hour away. Thanks.

I just wanted to let you know that I got my rescheduled date yesterday. I had no problems rescheduling. It took about 2 weeks from when I sent the request to recieve my new appointment time! I hope it works out okay for you. I did not request a new ASC. I'm not sure how it works for that.

I also received two Bio notices. I called USCIS Information line and they told me to send the second notice in for rescheduling and add a letter saying that this was my second biometrics notice. They also said that if they sent two rescheduled appointments notices, I should attend the earliest appointment and bring the second notice.

When I received my response to my Bio Letter request, they told me that the reason I had called was to get a duplicated NOA1 (obviously not why I called). So I also received a duplicate NOA1 with my full name as well.

I moved my money over by setting up a wire transfer through my bank. The cost wasn't too bad and it is an easy process if you have a bank account in the USA. Ask your English Bank regarding a wire transfer and see how much it would cost and what exchange rate you will get.

My husband and I are pretty well obsessed with Mad Men. This is the first year we are actually watching it as it airs. We got hooked kind of late and have been watching the DVDs of it up until this year. Other than that... I like Psych and in the fall I watch Parenthood and How I Met Your Mother.

Fools Rush In... we heard it on our last night together in South America, after a four weeks of a intense summer romance. It was the UB-40 version, but we mostly play the Elvis version when we are feeling romantic...

My husband and I met in Ecuador. We were both there on the same archaeology dig. The first night we met, neither of us really remember as there was plenty of alcohol present but there are pictures of us dancing and obviously mooning over each other. The next day, we sort of chit-chatted. But nothing came of it till a couple of nights later. There were some romantic moments around where we lived in Ecuador and then when we went on various tours around Ecuador we always explored the sights together. By the time the trip was ending, we were in cafe in Quito and the song "Fools Rush In" was playing and my future husband looked at me and said he was coming to Canada. I told him he was crazy but I hoped that he really would. We only knew each other four 4 weeks. But he did come! And then I went to Kansas. And plenty of other wonderful things happened. And then fast forward 5 years and we are still going strong.

Once you submit the application, make sure to change your address online AND through the phone system. Online is not sufficient if you also have a ongoing request submitted to them, like the I-751. I'm not sure if you need to include a note regarding your upcoming move. That may be too confusing.

Just thought I'd share what happened yesterday. I received a second biometrics notice, this time for August 20 at 10 am. I still can't go to that one as I am still out of town. Now I have two notices,both bad dates. I have already sent the first in for rescheduling. Not sure what do with the second one? Do I need to send it in too? Or at least call regarding it? Or just ignore it...

This process is way crazier than my AOS...

I am in the same situation. Will be out of the country when I was supposed to have my appointment. I submitted my request for reschedule a few days ago. I'll keep you updated on what happens!

Received my biometrics notice. It will be really nice to be able to track my case. I've decided not to try for early Biometrics as I cannot take any time off from work and the place is an hour a way and I really don't want to go out there and then be rejected. I keep thinking that I'm still a permanent resident and I'm still ticking time towards the application eligibility for Naturalization. So I will send in my notice and request for a rescheduled appointment. I'll let you guys know when I get my new date!

You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

I never received a notice. and like the previous poster, I did it online as well. That was my confirmation. When my husband did his change of address for his I-864, he did receive a notice. So I guess it's different for each type of address change.

Instructions: If more than 30 days have elapsed since your NOA1 date and you have not received your biometrics appointment letter, you can call the NCSC (their number is on your NOA1) and put in service request to the service center which you filed (CSC or VSC) to find out the status of the biometrics appointment letter. Make sure to verify the home address and mailing address (if any) with them on the phone. You can also request to speak to an immigration officer (you may have to ask at least twice to be transferred) to get your CR I-89 receipt number, (it is the receipt number of the biometrics letter) so that you can track your case online.

Wow, I'm a bit peeved right now. I received my Service Request Response and it basically said that the reason for my call was a request for duplicate NOA1, however, the reason I called (the same reason as the rest of us) was to inquire about my Biometrics and to get my case tracking number. I'm not sure how the customer representative thought that was my request but alas they did and I will be sent a "courtesy" duplicate notice! Interestingly enough though my service request response did contain an interesting nugget of information:

"Note: You are scheduled to appear at the ASC - USCIS Kansas City on 8/19/10 at 2:00PM. Your ASC appointment notice will be mailed to your current address today."

I'm glad to know my date, but wouldn't you know that is the exact date I will be departing for Canada for my best friend's wedding... I really did not want to have to do early biometrics, but it appears I will have no choice. Wait, I guess I do have a choice, I can reschedule for a later date but I think my wait has gone on long enough!

I filled in some of the below service request information but not all of it because I did not receive a CR I-89 number yet.

I still cannot believe how much more frustrating this process has been compared to my AOS.

I'm not sure what it is like in other places nor do I remember exactly what it is here. I think I hadto pay a fee, but that all copies I requested were included in that fee. But honesty I don't remember. Sorry!

For me personally, I requested 10 because it didn't cost any extra. I still have two copies left and I can use them if I ever need to. Some places require a certified copy but others can just have a copy of the certified copy. I say get more than you need because then you won't have to keep going back to the courthouse to get more. That's just my opinion.

My passport renewal took over a couple of months, but that was because the passport office rejected my photos as they were not up to their standards. I had taken my photos at Walgreen's and a Canadian friend was here visiting so she acted as my guarantor. But when they were rejected, I had to get a new guarantor and I ended up getting my photos done professionally. Cost more and was a hassle. Then they had questions on my second application. So it could be that mine was a long time due to various Canada Passport office questions. I do recommend getting high quality passport photos. It will save you time and money.

Nothing for me. Still waiting for the Biometrics notice. Also no response to my service request. Oh well, I'm not going to get stressed about it. I know our application will be approved. I do wish it would move quicker but alas this may take longer than my AOS but it will get done.

You have to wait until your Biometrics notice to be able to track the case. If you read over the letter, particularly the final paragraph, you will see that they will issue you a number that can be tracked online with the Biometrics notice. So don't worry. We all have to wait till our Biometrics to track our case.

I called the USCIS Information line yesterday and unfortunately they would not transfer me to a Immigration Officer to get my CR I-89 number so no online tracking for me. However, I was able to put in a Service Request but who knows what that will accomplish. I filled in my information below.
