  1. Far better to print only examples of how and how frequently you communicate. Anything they keep, goes in two-hole punched file your loved one will carry back to the US when they come. One page of chat log per month or every other month is plenty, along with maybe one chat transcript or email for each month. Save the trees by using examples, not printing on both sides. They'll hate you for making them stand on their heads to read your file.

Exactly what we did. One page of chat log in small print for each month. Some email printouts. Some screenshots of you two having a video chat with smiling faces. Printout of phone calls made. That's what we included. No need to print an encyclopedia. Just enough to show how you communicate.

  4. My EOR letter didn't mention it per se, however she did have receipts for money as additional evidence an ongoing relationship. She wasn't asked about it.

It's funny i also had her go to the dentist with a little bit of the money, she wasn't thrilled about it either lol i'm not sure what it is exactly but it seems the idea of regular dentist visits isn't there hehe

  5. I tried to check again my status on the USCIS website but cant find any result using the receipt number sent to me yesterday thru SMS. My receipt number starts with MSC, and on the wesite it says case/receipt numbers starts with EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC. I think we have to wait for out NOA2 to check our cases online just like before when we were filing for our K1 visa. Have a great journey everyone.

My receipt numbers are also MSC, they are working now and i was able to check status, "Initial Review" on all 3. Just took a couple days to be available.

  6. so i got 6 texts and 6 emails with 3 different receipt numbers but none of the receipt numbers work? im going to call them on my lunch.

My receipt numbers are also not recognized yet, probably a some kind of delay on their part in updating their databases. Did you call them?

Yay! I just received 3 texts from USCIS saying that my application was received! I was starting to get nervous that they would be rejecting it for some reason (some weird check issue, not having the right version of a form, etc.) I really want to have the NOA1 in hand for when we fly domestically to Florida at the end of the month since his I-94 is expired.

Hope everyone has a smooth & speedy journey!

    Amy

Congrats! We should have our NOA1s very soon

mine was delivered today a couple of min before 7 am. When will they cash my check? How soon can I expect to hear from them via email/sms?

Our check was cashed the same day we got the text notifications. Posted that same night.

  7. They say it helps to go and attend the american citizen hour, which is open house for questions and information about the process, at the consulate. They say the officer you talk to during ACH puts notes into the case file that you were present and this is later seen by the interviewing official. They also say it helps that your fiancee shows your passport along with an EOR letter written by you. This shows that you are there supporting your fiancee and it helps the case.

I personally wasn't able to attend with my wife due to the same reasons as you guys, work/vacation scheduling etc.. Not to mention the cost of buying a last minute plane ticket to China. However, I did write an EOR letter and had it notarized, reaffirming our bond and relationship and my desire to be there but inability to do so, as well as describing a bit about how our relationship has developed during this process and how we continue to communicate.

Her interview lasted all of about 4-5 minutes, 3 questions asked, easy pink.

My suggestions are to practice interview questions, make sure she knows all the information about you that GUZ may know about you. And be sure to spend some good time together online or on the phone the night before her interview or before she leaves for Guangzhou and get her feeling confident and in high spirits.

  8. Haha, it's kind of fun at first. I sat my wife on my lap and let her take the wheel first. I let her get a feel for the steering wheel and turning. Then I let her use the pedals, stressing the importance of knowing the break pedal from the gas pedal. We drove around in the small residential streets around home for a couple of days until I felt comfortable letting her sit in the driver's seat on her own. I'd be reaching over with my hand on her lap, ready to grab the wheel just in case. She's had alot of fun with it, of course there's been some scary moments, and she's done some silly things but so far no damage to the car

3 weeks since we started and she's already getting on the freeway. Still struggle a little on judging distance and turns, as well as driving in reverse, and changing lanes (she forgets to check for cars next to us). :hehe:

  9. hello Ivy..good to hear that you were able to file for your AOS..we are still planning to file ours this coming end of Nov..just wondering..what evidences and documents did you send them...thanks alot...

The only evidence needed is what they're asking for on the instructions and/or the guide here http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

    such as marriage certificate

    birth certificate

copies of passport and visa and I-94

    6 passport photos

tax returns/w2s/1099s for the i864 affidavit of support

i-693 vaccinations certified by civil surgeon

might have missed some items, be sure to read the guide and the form instructions.

No need to send all kinds of relationship evidence like for the K1, that's for the interview later.

edit: 6 passport photos if doing all: AOS, work permit and travel document

  10. thanks wavfarer. do you have a name?:-) the example is of a female form australia. she would be an alien to usa. but do i just put N/a for me,. as i am a citizen here?.thanks again...todd....ps....i see you just filed. do you mind telling me how long you have know each other? thanmk so much...todd

    Hi Todd,

For the K1, you will need a G325A for yourself and your fiancee, you will print your name and leave the A# blank. She will do the same.

Later when she comes to the US and files for AOS (green card) she will need to do another G325A and this time she will have an Alien # to put in the box.

  11. Hi LDG - we should have similar timelines as my husband and I sent out his packet on November 1st. I am expecting the e-notifcation by next week Thur/Fri (November 11/12) based on what I've seen on others' timelines. Hope we both hear something soon! :)

Here I was thinking we'd get an email or text by today  . Guess they do that once the NOA is sent?

Ah well, no matter. It's out of our hands now and I can relax for a while

  12. First I'd like to thank everyone for their suggestions, it really does help!! Keep them coming, especially those with experience dealing with consulate in Guangzhou!! Very helpful!!!!

LDG, Congratulations on your fiancee's approval!!! About how long did the process take for you?(start to finish) I don't know how long you two communicated prior to your visa approval but as I already stated we have a 3 year relationship and thousands of emails. After reading and reading and reading posts on this form... I was think about including about 2-3 emails per each month of communication, that would equal about 108 emails and about 3-4 photos of us together during each of the three trips I've made to China and several months of phone logs. In your (and anyone else's opinion) is it necessary to provide monthly email printouts for each month dating back 3 years? Or should I focus on the last, say 2 years? I guess more is better in the end, so it's probably a stupid question.

Our whole K1 process took just under 5 months and she had visa in hand. Check out my signature to get an idea. My petition was actually processed pretty quick stateside, it kinda slowed down once the case got to Guangzhou (dept of state). Took a month for my wife to get "packet 4" and another month just waiting for the interview date. We used this time to practice interview questions and get her feeling confident about the whole thing. She wasn't getting a whole lot of support from friends and family. Alot of people felt she would be denied.

You seem to have a strong enough case, much stronger than I did. I only went to China once before petitioning and known her for almost 2 years. Our time together consisted mainly of daily video chat and phone calls. Emails not so much since we chatted everyday.

Some may say we got lucky, since I only went to China once before petitioning and only known her about a year, as well as her English not being so great (but good enough for me). Actually i studied Chinese a bit and had my Chinese professor write a letter about my progress and how well I was doing. My wife brought this to the interview and the officer read it, along with my EOR letter (evolution of relationship) explaining how we communicate and spend our time together.

In Guangzhou it's all about proving you two can communicate well and have good solid evidence that you're serious about the relationship and indeed plan to marry out of love.

So far you haven't mentioned anything that could potentially be a red flag.I think 108 copies of emails is a bit excessive. Honestly maybe one for each month is enough, maybe even 1 every 3 months just to show how far back the relationship goes.

  13. My Attorney will be sending out my AOS application to the USCIS Early next week, How long does it usually take for the USCIS to recieve the papers ? & what are the next steps after they do recieve it?

Depends on the shipping method used. I used USPS priority certified mail, got there in 2 days from Nevada. Once they receive it and open your case you will receive notice by mail within a week or so. After that just wait for your biometrics appointment notice for EAD. after that more waiting.

  14. Guangzhou can be scary, however my wife had no trouble at all at the K1 interview. To be honest, I was worried. My wife's English is limited and i had only been to China once before her interview. We had plenty of evidence but I didn't go overboard. I submitted about 8 photographs of us together. My flight boarding passes, train tickets, travel itinerary as proof of having met. A few emails and a few printouts of MSN video chat with our faces and some text showing, i also printed just 1 page of chat for each month since we met online. Also a phone call log for the previous 3 months, and a couple of copies of letters we wrote each other.

That was about it as far as evidence, the rest was all the required documents which if you follow the instructions closely and the VJ guide you will have no problem. Once you get the petition approved, start practicing interview questions and make sure she knows all about you. Interview will go well as long as they don't have any reasons to suspect fraud.

edit: as far as the website question, if it's a dating site, i wouldn't worry about it. Don't fill it in, I just wrote a separate 1 page letter explaining how we met and how we communicate, about my trip and our time together and how we became engaged. Be sure to label the letter Part B Question 18 supplement

Easy to work with. Had checked with several doctors before and they all wanted to do an exam for a few hundred bucks. This one's receptionist knew what we needed.

  16. Are they using the visa as a second form of ID? the passport would suffice as primary ID. Also, according to your timeline, your visa should not be expired. Should be good for 6 months after issue. Some banks also take the I-94 for second form of ID. I would go back and get a manager to look at it again, shouldn't be an issue, especially with a social security number in hand. Or try another branch. It really shouldn't be a problem.

  17. Did the petitioner write a personal check, did they cash the check? this is the best way to know if they have the case. If used a money order he can call the bank or issuaing agency to find out if it was cashed. if not, then they probably didn't receive the packet, and if they didn't receive it something could be wrong with how your petitioner mailed it. Was it mailed certified? can check with the post office if the packet was delivered.

They don't need 3 months to send you a NOA1 Notice of Receipt, you get that in 1 - 3 weeks tops. My feeling is the packet is lost somewhere... :(
