Hi guys,
Coco lala, sorry for my late answer. We are travelling in QC, Canada now. I am not online often. We will be returning on Monday. We drove from Texas!
So it will be my first time travelling back to US by land and with my extension letter. So I will let you know Jimnlena if I had the same problem than Lena. I hope it will be fine. I am bringing back some stuff that I still had in storage at my parents home.
About the name on the passport, I don't think they really care. Any of the officer had said anything to me about my maiden name in my passport and I renewed it last year on my maiden name.
Have a safe trip coco lala!
Have a great week end everyone!
Jo
thanks Jo&Si. Have a safe drive!

Thanks for the response Jo&Si.
I'm just making sure because I don't want to make a new passport since my old one is still valid until 2014. I will be traveling back to Asia.
Just wondering did they look at your passport name or just put a stamp on it everytime you travel out of the country?
HI Coco lala,
I traveled a lot back and forth to Canada and I didn't have any issue with my passport having my maiden name on it and my GC with my married name. I always carry my marriage certificate just in case with my birth certificate.
Better be safe than sorry!
Hope this help
Have a great week
Jo

Hey guys,
I have a question, for those who already experience traveling to another country using your passport with your MAIDEN name on it since it is still valid.
Did you encounter any problem coming back to the States? Do you just have to bring and show your marriage certificate?
Since your greencard would have your married name not your maiden name anymore.
Thanks for the inputs!

Finally got my biometrics today after waiting for so long.
Biometrics date 07/18/2012. Please update! Thanks!
-
I just called back, they were about the create another service request since I still haven't received my biometrics, but they told me I have to wait until this Friday since it will be 30 days from the 1st service request was created. =/
-
I still don't have a biometrics too. I called a few times already. They just told me to wait for the schedule since it depends on how busy the local office is.
Yes no news is usually good news!
I can't even check my status online because I didn't get biometrics letter and it seems that I don't need to have one for now...So I think, I should expect a letter for biometrics appointment anytime in the future but don't know when...so weird that I am the only one with no biometrics!
-
Thanks! I hope i will soon!
Yes, I actually called them 3 times in total. Each time I was told the same thing, though, that I will receive a letter once the local ASC office has an avilability. But it sure doesn't hurt to call! I hope you get your biometrics soon
-
I tried calling again, Tier 2 agent told me so far no appointment has been made yet and just call again at the end of the month. So I'm calling next week to follow up again
Well enjoy your vacation. These things are out of our hands. Just need to wait and see.
For me, I had called and they told they will do a service request...few days later I received and email that I don't need to do biometrics ??? Really weird...I guess They will send me a letter when they will be ready for it...the problem I don't know when and it sucks for our vacation!
good luck with yours

Good to hear you received your biometrics. I'm still waiting for mine. Did you call to follow up on yours?
Finally got letter for biometrics today! My appointment is scheduled for 7/13/12

Same here. I just called them. Wait 15 days and call them back )
Hi everyone,
I called USCIS today for my biometrics. They create a service request and told me to call them back in I didn't hear from them in 15 days!
I hope to get it soon!
-
Yes try calling them again. I told them what's the next step after 30 days of NO biometrics. They told me they will file a service request for me and notify the local office to followup on biometrics.
Indomex and coco lala Thank you for your responses
I called CSC. The customer service representative could not create a service request for me since my receipt number cannot be traced back in their database
So, I was connected to those directly working on cases. She was very cold and said I fall under normal processing time! I know it is not but atleast I brought the case to their notice. I will wait for a week from now and see how it goes.
-
Mine would be in fresno.
Innl, yes call USCIS tell them its been 30 days. They would file a service request for you.
coco lala and innl which is the nearest ASC to both of you? In the case of innl, I would definitely call because its been more than 45 days since your NOA.
-
I just called USCIS to follow up with the biometrics appointment.
They told me to wait for 30 days from the date I received my NOA in the mail! So they can transfer me to the next representative!
-
Hello everyone, I'm just wondering if there's a time frame wherein I should call the USCIS and follow up with my biometrics?
-
Of course it does, it lets the USCIS know that the biometrics step of your file is complete and is ready to move on to the next step.
Okay. thanks for the input!

Hello,
I'm just wondering for the biometrics, does it give you an advantage if you do it early? or it doesn't make a difference for the green card to be approved?
thanks!
-
Hello,
I have a question after getting your NOA1, does that mean your conditional GC is extended 1 year from the date it expires in your green card?
thanks!!
-
Congrats!! Took a while to get to you!!
I know. It was postmarked 05/10/2012.
-
Just received my NOA1!! Thank you Lord!
Receipt date: 04/30/2012
Please update guys!
Happy mother's day to all moms!

Yes, just file a form AR-11(you can do it by mail or online). I did online. If you are moving within the state, don't even worry. My application was approved in the minimum time, so it shouldn't cause you any delays.
I'm moving to a different state but the same service center.
I hope it would not have any delays
-
It depends whether you are moving to the state that assigned to the other service center, then they will have to transfer your file. But if you are moving withing the state or to the one that uses the same filing center, then you are fine. It won't slow down the process at all, just a simple update on the file. I went through this.
Thanks! That was a relief! So did you went through the change of address in your I 485?
What's the easiest way to change your address?
Thanks!
-
Hey guys, I'm just wondering, we're moving to a different state at the end of this year? Do you think that would prolong the processing for my I 751 if I change my address?
Thanks!

Hi April filers.
Add me to the list
I just sent out the package today to CSC!!
-
It's way better. Some people (but not all) get RFE'ed for not sending in transcripts. If you have them, send them.
Okay thanks! Didnt know about the RFE for not sending the transcript and sending the returns instead?

Okay! Thanks! I didn't know that the ticket should match your passport name. Thanks for that info!
