  1. Well that sounds like great news. I don't know if you remember, but I gave you the same advice on May 23 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/311283-rfe-for-i-693-date/page__view__findpost__p__4681935 , but you didn't believe me until 3 weeks later in this thread after you went off on a wild goose chase. Always listen to your Mama Nich  Hahaha. Just kidding. I do hope they have everything they need now.

I know, I should have listened to you the first time and not been distracted by all the other #######! I'm a total disciple now, though. :)

  2. I've been wondering about you EC. Did your case status resume processing after sending back the RFE responses?

Yes! Just got the update today that we've been transferred to the CSC, which is a great sign. Thank you again for all your advice!

  3. Just out of interest, did you manage to get the copy of the results from the Embassy in the end, with the email you sent them?

No, we did not. We did get the run around for a good few days, with people telling us what we wanted was possible, if only we contacted X, but eventually it became clear that it was not possible after all. We took Nich-Nick's great advice and enclosed a letter with our RFE asking them to check our file for all the medical forms they should already have.

  4. Try to find the phone number for the local office that has your package to be delivered. When my package was sitting in "redelivery" for the Chicago office I phoned USPS's main office a bunch of times and they were not at all helpful, when I finally got a number for the office that had my package they checked to see if they really had it there and updated the information online because it HAD in fact been delivered. They'll even email you a copy of the signature.

Thanks for this... they updated the site this morning and it now shows it delivered as of Friday afternoon. Thank god!

  5. The same exact thing happened to my RFE response to Lee's Summit even though we told the USPS office we did not want a signature because it was going to a P.O Box. I did freak out at first, but later the same day it did show as delivered. Someone from USCIS must go to the post office and sign for them and pick them up. Don't worry.

Thank you, this makes me feel a lot better!

There are no USCIS employees at the post office to sign for it. A USCIS employee will sign for it when they go to the post office to pick up their mail.

    Thanks Jim, this makes sense.

  6. I sent our RFE response on Tuesday, priority mail with delivery confirmation. It was due to be delivered yesterday. When I checked online yesterday, they'd "missent" it, to the wrong state. (They tried to deliver it to Atchison, KS instead of Lees Summit, MO. No idea why, it was addressed correctly and I've triple-checked the copy I kept.) So today they attempt to redeliver to the correct address, and now I get this message when I track it:

"Status: Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)

We attempted to deliver your item at 9:07 am on June 17, 2011 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64002 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visiting www.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."

The redelivery link is dead, and when I called the 800 number, the woman said the USPS will try to redeliver in 5 days if it hasn't been picked up, and if no one is there to accept it then, it will sit waiting to be picked up for 15 more days, and then be sent back to me.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? Is there any hope someone from Dept of Homeland Security would go and attempt to pick it up? This is tremendously frustrating.

  7. Hopefully it will be there tomorrow so you can be at ease :)

Today I get this message on the USPS website:

"Expected Delivery Date: June 16, 2011

    Class: Priority Mail®

    Service(s): Delivery Confirmation™

Status: Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)

We attempted to deliver your item at 9:07 am on June 17, 2011 in LEES SUMMIT, MO 64002 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visiting www.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."

The redelivery link is dead. What would you guys do in this situation? Wait and see, hope someone will pick it up? I wonder what time I should try and schedule a redelivery if I do.

Sorry to keep venting here, but this is doing my head in!

  8. Just checked the tracking and confirmation number online for our RFE response that I mailed Tuesday (sent it priority with tracking) and was due to be delivered today... "missent." To the wrong STATE! It was addressed to the correct address (in Lees Summit, MO) and for some reason they delivered it to Atchison, KS. #######? The website says: "Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."

    NOT HELPFUL, USPS! Gah!

  9. Priority mail w/ tracking. Got there in 2 working days and received a response the next day too.

    Thank you!

We sent ours express mail (overnight shipping). We paid a crazy high fee but DH is very anxious to work and we figured we've wasted enough time already. It arrived the next day and we received a notice of review the following day.

I can see that our AOS timelines are really close, so fingers crossed we get our EAD/AP soon too!

  10. Okay back. I know Knightsbridge doesn't keep a copy of your exam. I've never known of a UK person successfully get a copy after immigrating. That's why I think you're wasting time on chasing down your results.

    Your RFE says

You submitted Form I-693, Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. However, the civil surgeon certified the exam more than one year before the date the applicant filed the Form I-485. The Form I-693 must be dated within one year of filing Form I-485.

In order to process your application further, you need to submit a properly completed and signed Form I-693, Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, for the applicant on Form I-485. The medical examination must be conducted by a civil surgeon who has been designated by USCIS.

Solution #1 Pay to get a full medical exam with the entire thing done, including the immunization page.

    -------------------------------

I said before I think they picked up your blank I-693 and saw no doctor information and hit the RFE button without ordering you A-file to get your medical results. It does not say get your immunizations part fixed. It does not say we can't find your medical. Lost medical RFEs say

A review of the records indicates that you entered the United states pursuant to a valid k-1 visa and all USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed, but the U.S. Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026 are not in any of those records. Therfore a new medical form must be filled out by a civil surgeon and sent to the USCIS.

I think your entire medical exam that you turned in at POE is still there and needs to be matched up with your AOS. I don't think they ordered it because they stopped short when they saw that blank I-693.

In case you haven't read the instructions to the I-693, on p.4 of the I-693 instructions it says:

Even if a new medical examination is not required, you still must show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements.
If the vaccination record (DS-3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report
, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit Part 1, Information About You, Part 2, the vaccination chart and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's Certification, of Form I-693.

Your vaccination record was completed properly. Knightsbridge are spot on getting those done correctly. And you said you got all the shots. So the USCIS should have everything they need medically, but you threw them off by adding a blank I-693. And that brings me to---

Solution #2: Reply to the RFE with a statement:

I believe the attached request for evidence is in error. I was admitted as a K1 fiance and had a medical exam exam overseas less than one year ago and do not require another exam by a civil surgeon or a Form I-693. My examination was on _________ at the Knightsbridge Doctors in London, England. My A-file should contain my medical results, as well as a properly completed DS-3025 showing that I complied with the vaccination requirements.

May I request that you order my A-file to review my forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026. The only copies of those forms in existence were turned over by me in a sealed brown envelope to Customs and Border Protection at my port of entry. If the USCIS has lost my medical results, please advise me of such and give me an extension or time to repeat the entire medical process.

    ---------------------

    That's all I have--two choices to suggest.

First of all, I really, really appreciate you taking the time to help me with this. My husband just read your post and said, "God bless this person for all their help when they don't even know us and aren't getting paid."

I'm inclined to go with your solution #2, and not just because it's the cheaper or quicker route, but because you're right, I think it's the answer that best dovetails with our situation and my previous mistake. We had all our ducks in a row; I just effed it up with my I-693 blunder. My only fear is that if they don't like that answer, they'll flat out deny us. I've read before that if you incorrectly reply to an RFE, your whole package gets denied. Do you think that would be the case, or do you think they'd reply and say "No, dummy, re-do your medical"?

  11. The CD is your x-ray. There are no medical forms on there. Just a picture of your lungs. I could write a long answer why I think you're barking up the wrong tree, but basically Knightsbridge have no reason to file your records at their location because you will never be coming back there. That's why they hand you your x-ray CD because they would throw it in the trash otherwise. Did you actually have a doctor in the US say they would certify your blood tests if you got them or are you just guessing they might?

    More later......

Yes, we had one doctor we called say they'd certify if we could show them the test results. Last week we had an InfoPass appointment and the woman said the same thing, to see if we could get the TB and syphilis test results and take them to the doctor with the DS3025. I honestly don't know what to do. If you think we're barking up the wrong tree, you're probably right; you seem to know a lot and are someone whose posts and advice I regard highly. If you have time later and wouldn't mind advising, I'd appreciate it a lot. (No pressure, of course.) I feel like a bit of a F-up and just want to make things right quickly.

  12. Exactly, the file was carried to the US by the immigrant. The embassy doesn't have (shouldn't have) any of your file.

We called Knightsbridge Medical to ask for a copy of his results, and they said the Embassy would have a copy, so we called today and spoke to someone who gave us the email code and we wrote asking for it. I'm kind of at a loss here if they don't. What would you both suggest if they don't? At that point, I think we have no other choice but to pay for the syphilis and TB test all over again when the doctor transcribes the rest, correct?

But he didn't leave it with the DS3025. He filled in his name info on a I-693 and mailed it in blank. Lost the plot somewhere. So I think they picked it up, saw it was blank and pushed the RFE button before looking to see if his medical file contained the proper things.

So EC, just thinking about you wanting your medical info from London embassy. They put it in a brown envelope with your other papers and give it to you via courier with your passport and visa. They probably don't have it.

What do you think we should do if that's the case? It occurred to me that perhaps the results are on the CD they gave us, and maybe we can print it them off from there and send back? (The disc is PC only and we have a Mac, so I don't know yet if this is an option.) I feel like an idiot and am really angry with myself because this is entire frustrating situation is my own doing.

  13. I was under the impression that the DS3025 was enough if you received all the vacs and had VH (Varicella history). Thought I didn't need to fill out the I-693??

I read enough different advice that I thoroughly confused myself. My advice is not to worry until it's time to file AOS, and then just be very good about reading the instructions on the forms, and make sure the VJ guide you follow pertains to your country.

  14. Can I also ask why you got the RFE? Did you not have the DS3025 from the medical? and if so, was it not sufficient for you? Just trying to get an idea of what will be needed when I go through this in a couple of months :)

Yes, we did have the DS-3025. We actually had everything and had done our homework, but I goofed up and filled out the I-693 incorrectly, so now we have to find an approved doctor that won't charge an arm and a leg to transcribe the vaccination record and sign off on it. The problem is that most doctors insist on a TB and syphilis test, which were done at the London medical, but are not listed on the DS-3025. So to save money, we've requested a copy of the results (that he handed over in the big sealed envelope when he got off the plane) so we can show those to a doctor and not have to pay to have them done again. Pain in the @$$! But it's my mistake, so...

my thoughts to you for your own AOS would be to find a doctor who will transcribe your vaccination records for the I-693 for a reasonable rate (shouldn't be more than $25-$50), send a copy of your DS-3025 as well, and hope they don't lose your medical results (like they do some people's, but not ours... this is just a weird complication because I messed up the I-693). It should be fine!

  15. Okay, that's really helpful to know actually, thanks :) We'll be filing before the 90 days I'm sure anyway, just for piece of mind. But definitely good to know that!

No problem! This is a stressful enough process, so it's good to know that there are a few parts slightly less teeth-grinding!
