  1. gujjugirl - the nvc received your documents on May 11th? Did you ever have an RFE? The NVC recieved my RFE on May 11th. I check for a sign on fail about 10 times a day. I can't wait for that day to come!

Congrats to everyone who received SIF's today. Seems like it was alot of lucky people :)

Hi! The documents that NVC received on May 11 was my DS230 package (note that it was signed for by NVC on May 4, but took one week for them to acknowledge receipt). The documents that I sent weren't in response to a RFE. I have never received a RFE. Don't give up hope, keeping checking for a SIF. All day today I kept checking for a SIF. I called NVC this afternoon and the operator told me to give it another week or two, supposedly she said it was in the "review department." I thought that I would check to see if I got a SIF before I went to bed, to my surprise, there it was, SIF. I called the operator just before and she confirmed that it was complete today. Surprised the operator from this afternoon didn't mention anything when I asked. Good luck to you.

  2. FINALLY!!!:dance::dance: I just got off the phone with NVC and I spoke with the most nicest operator (finally, someone friendly). Before I even asked my question, she said to me, "You know your case was completed on May 18 (today) and is awaiting scheduling for an interview." The words I longed to hear!

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WELL WISHES AND SUPPORT!

I hope that everyone will be getting a SIF too. :)

  3. Oh, wow. They sure processed the RFE fast!!

I believe so!! I have not gotten one of those messages yet, but it sure looks like it!!Congrats!!!!!!!

Thanks! You should check too, I believe NVC received the docs from you on May 11 too, right? I hope this is what I think it is. Funny thing is, I called NVC earlier this afternoon and the operator didn't mention anything.......strange......

  4. Hello all! I went to log in just now and I received the following message:

    Sign In Failed

•Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error.

Is this the SIF message??? I haven't called NVC to confirm. Please, if someone knows, please reply. Thanks!

  5. Congrats on the SIF!

I called today and I was told that they are reviewing my mom's DS-230!! Hopefully, we will have an answer by the end of this week. Good luck everyone who is still waiting!

I called up NVC just now and they told me that my case is currently in the "review department" and to call back on the 25th of May or the week after to find out if it has been completed. The operator told me once again to give it 2-3 weeks for review. What I really wanted to know, is if the case has been assigned to a person to be reviewed. I remember one of the posts by a VJer, that wrote that when they called up NVC, the operator specifically told them that the case was assigned to a reviewer. How relieving it would be to know that at least someone is reviewing the documents.

  6. Thanks GG. Definitely Helps :)

I hope Wish & Pray all goes well and we all complete our NVC process soon.

You're welcome. I was going crazy when I was waiting for my documents to be inputted by NVC, so I know the feeling. It's good that we all have similiar timelines so we are able to keep each other informed about NVC...because lord knows that NVC doesn't help much, except giving you the brushoff.

  7. Should I be worried??

Spoke to Operator and Checked Voice Response, there is no Info about my I864 or DS230.

How long does NVC take to feed this info into their system?

I sent them the paperwork 7th of May and they recieved it on 10th of May.

Anyone else who has sent in their paperwork in around May 10th?

When I submitted my DS230 package, it was delivered to NVC on May 4. It wasn't until May 11 that all the documents were received by NVC. Seems to take about a week for them to acknowledge receipt upon delivery arrival at NVC mailroom. Hope this helps.

  8. My paperwork was received on the 11th from what the AVR said and it wasn't til today when I called and spoke to an operator she told me they received it but they haven't opened it yet and to call back on Friday that they "should" be reviewing it by then. Hope this helps a little. We are all on hold I suppose.

Thanks for the information. My paperwork was also received on the 11th. I guess I will also call on Friday to see what is happening with my case. I hope that it is "reviewed" by then. Seems that everything has slowed down this month at NVC for some reason...hope to hear good news for all by the end of this week or at least by next week. I want to be able to make it for the July deadline interviews (scheduling).

  9. My DS230 package was received by NVC on May 11 too. I called NVC yesterday (friday) and they told me that my case is also "under review" and give it 2-3 weeks. I'm praying that I don't get hit with a RFE for anything. I hope that I get a case complete soon. Although a June interview would've been perfect, I'm hoping for a July date. It seems NVC is slowing down. This waiting and not knowing is a KILLER!

  10. Thanks for replying...

I have the PCC from local Police district... the PCC was the last one due from Passport Office.

My original question was the TEXT on the PCC from passport office.

"There is nothing adverse information against "Wife name" d/o "Father Name", the holder of Indian passport number issued on DATE at city, which would render her ineligible for grant of travel facilities including visa for USA."

Can you please confirm again for the TEXT part of it?

I submitted the document from India with the same wording to NVC. The wording is fine. It's the standard text that is given to everyone that applies for one from India. Hope this helps.

  11. My DS-230 was received on May 5th and it hasn't been "entered into the system" yet. So if it makes you feel any better, there are others in the same situation!

I called NVC and spoke to two different operators between today and yesterday. One told me that it could take "a long time" before the AVR will note that NVC received the DS-230 package (very encouraging). The 2nd operator from today told me that it could take up to 2 weeks, depending on how busy they are at NVC. Well, I'm glad that I'm not the only one waiting for NVC to acknowledge receipt. I'm just a bit anxious to get this process over with at NVC. I pray that everything will be completed and approved this month with any problems. Please let me know if you get any reply of receipt from NVC. Thanks!

  12. Does anyone have any idea, approximately how long it takes from the time that NVC receives the docs to the time that they input it in the system? The DS-230 packet were received by NVC on May 4 (I sent it express mail). I keep calling NVC and the operators keep tellling me that they have not received the docs as of yet. I'm a bit worried, seeing that everyone else's timeline shows that everything was inputted rather quickly. It's so frustrating, all this waiting! Anyway, what is the normal time frame for NVC to receive the docs in the AVR? What is the time frame from receiving the docs to case complete? Is it just the month of a May that NVC is taking too long on? Thanks.

  13. Ask her to send a copy of whatever she used to file with the IRS. Hopefully she made the copies before sending it off?

Hello! I think that it would be best to take the complete tax transcripts to the interview, just to be on the safe side (although NVC already has it). I don't think that just having the W2 will be enough. I called up the I.R.S. and asked for them to send me the tax transcripts and within a week and half, I received it by mail, it's pretty quick.

  14. Hi,

As for original vs copy, no, you must send them the original and also a photocopy - of every document. Keep a copy for yourself as well of course.

For your clearance question - this thread might help:

Hi! Thank you for your reply and also for the thread information.

  15. Hello! I was hoping that someone who has gone through the procedure of obtaining a Passport Clearance Certificate from Ahmedabad, will share their experience. My spouse just recently obtained the Police Clearance Certificate and is about to go about to obtain the Passport Clearance Certificate. I've read much on the forums about how difficult it is to obtain one without a interview appointment letter from the NVC. Can someone who went through the procedure of obtaining the Passport clearance please tell me how they obtained one. Did you have to submit any documents? If so, what documents did you submit at the passport office in Ahmedabad? Was the barcoded letter from NVC enough to obtain the certificate?

Also, did you mail the original Passport clearance cert and original Police clearance cert to NVC? Is it okay to submit copies and to submit the original at time of interview? Please help. Any information will be appreciated.

Whats you priority date. I think you should wait till you priority date becomes current and the embassy/NVC contacts you for further procesing. Generally PCC is valid for 6 months. So if you are not going to for an interview in the next 6 months, I would suggest waiting.

PS: FYI my case # was assigned on Sept 16, 2009.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

For my wifes case I submitted color copy of local/district PCC with DS230 and stated that original will be handed over at VFS or interview. She needed her local/district PCC to obtain her Passport PCC and the Passport PCC at Ahmadabad is only given with either a request/checklist from NVC or interview letter. Not sure how it is in other states.

Since they just got married there priority date is current...

Hello! Would be able to tell me how you went about getting a Passport Clearance Certificate from Ahmedabad? What documents did your wife have to submit to get clearance? Furthermore, you wrote that you notified the NVC that your wife would give the Passport clearance on day of interview, was this accepted by NVC? You weren't issued a RFE? The NVC accepted only copies of PCC? I don't want to send in the originals to NVC and prefer to have my spouse sumbit at time of interview. Any information is much appreciated. Thank you.

  17. Hello! I was hoping that you can give me some more information about how to go about getting a Passport Clearance Certificate from Ahmedabad. What documents were your wife required to submit to get the PCC? How long does it take to get it issued? What kind of document does the passport office issue as clearance? Is it just a mere stamp in the passport or an actual document? Any information will be helpful. Thanks!
