  1. You are so right! He called the court house after i told him what we need cause he lives in a different state now, and they found his divorce papers!!! :dance: He just ran to the post office so he can mail a money order($4) so they will sent him the papers.So 2 hrs after my interview stuff looks great.I want to thank you all very much and to tell you to be strong and hang in there, because God exists!! And He always helps us!! hugs everyone

    That's great!! You will soon be reunited with your hubby...will be praying for you!

  2. Hi everyone.Well i just got back from my interview, it was an ok and easy one.However, the CO kept my passport and gave me a 212(g) sheet explaing they need the original divorce documents of my husband( he had been married be4).Talking to him right now, he called the courthouse already and they said they would look for it.Now my questions: do you think they will find his original papers, the divorce took place many years go and second..is there anything else i should worry about?Thats the only thing they wrote on the paper, the only thing they need.Thank you all very much xoxoxo.n

    Was your husband divorced in the United States? If he was divorced in the United States then he can go to the local court house where the divorce took place at and they will issue him one with the court seal on it and all. It doesn't matter how many years back it was, they are able to pull it up. Good luck!

    I'm sure that they will be able to issue the divorce decree to you....like LoveRani wrote, they kept your passport, so it is a good sign....you will be well on your way soon....wishing you all the best.

    Where are our updates for yesterday?

    Wow! So many approvals this week! I'm loving it!!!!!!

    VISA APPROVED!!! :)

    sorry for the late reply - i flew into pakistan to be here for the interview, and we got back to karachi from islamabad pretty late last night. interview went really well, only lasted about 3-5 mins (after waiting 4 hours). only questions were:

    - How did you guys meet?

    - What does your husband do in the US?

    - Where do you plan to live?

    - Do you have any other family in the US?

    - Do you plan to work in the US?

    After that my wife called me back to the booth and the interviewer asked when we planned to return to Seattle. i said as soon as we have the visa - to which he replied you'll have it in 7-10 days! :)

    Paperwork seemed to be the biggest thing in Islamabad. prior to the actual interview, the did some sort of 'pre' registration at different windows during which they basically checked all the paperwork. marriage certificate, affadavit of support, medical, etc... We heard quite a few folks getting rejected for some form of incomplete paperwork, including photograph size, and whether or not the photo had been touched-up.

    Thanks to everyone here for all their help. the whole process went really smooth for us, and there's no way it would have without VJ and everyone here. best of luck to everyone else, and congrats to those who also have happy news! :)

    Congratulations!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

    I've added my review here:

    Mumbai Embassy review

    deepdawg: Thank you so much for posting the review!!!! I'm hoping that my husband has a smooth interview tomorrow.

    I got approved yesterday :) couldnt write it on here thought because the day turned into a total nightmare and i got stuck traveling on trains for 12hours because we had bad storms and all the trains were cancelled. I was running on 4 hours sleep it wasnt fun lol.

    My interview lasted a whole of 10minutes! Will write my review in a bit.

    Congrats to everyone else who got approved and good luck to those with interviews coming up!

    CONGRATS!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance:

  9. Hello! I was reading all the posts from this forum and I wanted to say that I definitely know what everyone is going through. Unfortunately it's such a long process and a LOT of waiting. I don't quite understand how USCIS goes about processing I-130s. I know with some people that it took about 45 days to get the I-130 approved and some that took 3 months (like mine). Anyway, everyone just hang in there. I suggest that everyone that is waiting for the I-130 approval, to start preparing documents for NVC right now, that way it will speed up the process a lit bit if you have everything ready. Unforunately I learned about this site after I arrived at NVC and I didn't realize the documents that I needed to submit to them beforehand (at the USCIS stage). Getting the documents needed for NVC and having my husband mail the documents to me took a while and we lost some time with that. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask me. Good luck and hope that everyone hears some good news soon.

  10. My husband has his CR1 interview next month in Mumbai. I have three questions, hopefully someone has an answer to them.

    1- Will there be any other fees that my husband will have to pay when he goes for his interview? Fingerprint fees or anything else like that?

    2- For those who accompained their spouse's back to the USA after the interview, at the POE, once your spouse was sent to secondary for further processing, were you able to accompany your spouse to secondary to await processing or not?

    3- I noticed that a couple of VJer's went to the social security office to get a social security number/card. I thought that once you arrive in the U.S., it is automatically mailed to the address that you listed on the DS230 form. Question 43 on the DS230 Part II, asks if you want to have SS assign you a number. Do you have to go to SS office or will it automatically come in the mail since you already requested one on the DS230?

  11. Congratulations to everyone that finally received their appointment dates for July. For those that are still waiting, just hang in there, hopefully you will hear something soon...wishing everyone all the best!

    garry123 - It took about one week from the day that NVC received my DS230 packet, to where I got a case complete. Hopefully this week or definitely next week, you will get a case complete. By the way, I also got a email from NVC saying that my DS230 package was missing when I already had submitted it. I called up the NVC and the operator had told me to ignore the email, as I did, since I already had submitted it. Good luck!

  12. YAY!!! :dance: :dance: :dance: That is great!!!

    Thanks! The funny thing is I called up NVC and spoke to a operator to find out if my case was forwarded to the consulate or possibly when. The rude operator tells me, "your case was just scheduled on monday, it won't be weeks until your case is forwarded." Hmmmmmm, doesn't seem to be the case, why is it that none of these people are ever on the same page?? well enough of that! I hope that more cases will be scheduled this week and more SIF. Good luck everyone!

  13. I called up NVC a little while ago and the AVR updated to say that my case was forwarded to the Mumbai Consulate on May 28th...ahhhh, finally done with calling NVC and listening to the AVR messages...goodbye NVC! :)

  14. Yay!!! Congrads!!!!

    Are you living in Mumbai? Hubby was able to receive his Visa the same day from VFS.

    Thank you! Congratulations on your spouse getting his visa! That is great that he was able to get his visa from VFS the same day. My husband and I are excited and patiently waiting for his interview day. My husband doesn't live in Mumbai. If or when you get a chance, perhaps you can write a quick review of the interview. Thanks.
