I had no idea when I started this journey in March how it would play out. I am finally able to post here that we have the visa approval!!!!!!!

After over four hours of waiting, my wife came out of the Consulate with PINK!!!!! Oh Happy Day! What a journey this has been!

BTW, when did you receive the notification email??? Did you request NVC for expedite interview date? I wonder how it looks like

I was able to use electronic processing at NVC because my wife is from China. No expedite (I wish!) Check out my timeline. I got the email today at 12:35 central time. It looked like below and also had an attachment with the actual letter.

My hubby just called DOS, they told hime my interview date was scheduled at 25, Jan 2:30pm

So I think you can call them again, maybe we can interview on the same day.

My hubby called DOS tonight, they didn't schedule my interview date, and told him let's wait untill 1, Jun then call them again, oh, I don't wanna wait so long time, I really hope I can interview in JAN!

SIF today!

Had to request to be transferred to a NVC supervisor because the NVC changed my wife's birth date within the past week and had to get that corrected!

Once that was resolved, discussed the next steps at NVC.

Final review takes 2 hours, but wait for up to 72 hours, then case complete.

For electronic processed files, NVC schedules interviews not Guangzhou. Scheduling happens the second week of the month. So it looks like scheduling will happen in January and interview in February.

I "accidentally" pushed (1) last night . . . . . . . immediately connected to an operator! Go figure!

I don't know if anyone else here has this problem. On 6/3/2010 I filed a I-130, IR1 for my wife with CSC. Recieved NOA1 dated 6/9/2010. In November at the posted 5 month processing time still no NOA2. I called USCIS they told me to call back in 30 days. I did and they gave me a number and told me to wait 45 more days for an answer. Needless to say this answer was not acceptable. I contacted my senator immediatly they gave him the same answer. What is going on here? I have a friend who filed a few days ahead and he is well on his way thru the NVC and now has his GUZ number.

Over 6 month's now no NOA2 going crazy. Any suggestions what to do would be greatly appreciated.

From here on out, you should always ask for a Tier 2 officer when you call the USCIS. The Tier 1 person only sees what you can see on the USCIS portal (and it's usually wrong.) If the Tier 2 officer isn't helpful, try calling back later.

I agree that it is ridiculous that we have to wait this long for an answer. I got an RFE. USCIS took their time in "clerical" to send me the specifics on the RFE. It was very simple: I forgot to send our translated marriage registration certificate. I turned it around and was approved in a few days. As you can see, I am in the NVC process, but I just checked the USCIS portal and it still says: "RFE review"! Go figure!

Electronic filing happens in the NVC stage. Right now, USCIS has not progressed enough into the electronic world to be able to receive the I-130 docs. You can log into the USCIS website and get a status of your file (once you get a file number from them.) Calling them for a status update is your best bet for an accurate response. Even then, you might need to talk to a Tier 2 officer if your case is beyond the 5 month processing window.

20 meg?!?! Just looked at all my I-864 documents including statements for 3 bank accounts, tax transcripts, pay stubs, employment letter and I-864 and it's only 3 mb. Am I missing something?

That sounds like the right amount for the I-864. I ran into size trouble with the pdfs of the "white books" for the DS-230. One of them was 13MB.

If you are past the 5 month mark, call USCIS and request to speak to a Tier 2 officer. You have every right to get an update. They can give you a better picture of what is happening to your case.

Do not rely on the USCIS blue circle status. My experience is that the Tier 1 person told me that I was still in review as I saw on the USCIS status page "blue circle". I asked and was transferred to a Tier 2 officer and was told that I was approved! As you can see by my signature, I am well into the NVC stage but checked my USCIS status the other day. It still says: under review!

Call USCIS! If the Tier 1 person won't transfer you, hang up and call again.

ahh cool. so we should be a couple of days behind you. I'm assuming you got it in an email. Wouldn't make much sense to get the electronic processing number by snail mail, but this is the government.

Email received 1:52 PM Central time.

Sent everything last night. Emails were limited at NVC to less than 20MB per email.

Now we wait. Again.

How long does it take (i.e. should I wait) to receive the GZO case number after sending the optin email? We included the signed DS-3032 with the email and it was sent on the 23rd of November. I've received an automated confirmation but no new case number yet. I know I have to wait on sending the I-864 package until I receive this.

I sent the OPTIN request 11/21, which was a Sunday. So they got it Monday the 22nd. Just got my GZO number today. Two weeks to the day!

You should see yours GZO number on Tuesday, hopefully!

yeah, in my case, NOA2 is killing me, took 6 months, but after that, all speed up, esp when we applied for the elc processing, scan doucments and e-mailed to them..sif, cc..and interview date.

Sent my OPTIN email for electronic filing on 11/21. With the Thanksgiving break, who knows when they will reply. I am just waiting on the conversion from my GUZ number to my GZO number so I can start emailing everything else in. Paid all of the fees as of today.
